Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is an upcoming console action role-playing video game to be developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Several hundred years following the ending of Final Fantasy XIII-2, Lightning awakens on a chain of islands known as Novus Partus, floating in the Sea of Chaos. The sprawling islands serve as a last refuge for humanity and the world which was Pulse, while the new Cocoon hovers in the sky above. With only thirteen days left until the world ends, Lightning must fight to save it.



I haven't actually completed XIII-2 yet but I'm basically right at the end. Completed, loved it. A lot of people will be hating on this new release but personally I'm looking forward to it, I love 13th instalment to the Final Fantasy series.

I've platinum'd both games so bring on the final installment to end the trilogy.

So, 13 days left before armageddon? Sounds like a similar plot to Majora's Mask.

I've beaten the first one but I still haven't gotten to XIII-2 yet. How was XIII-2 anyways? I'll probably buy it sooner or later.

I thought XIII-2 wrapped up the story nicely.. ah well I hope this is the last of FFXIII. As long as it doesn't turn into what happened with FFVII I'm more than willing to give it a try.

Well, from what I read,

Versus 13 first, then Square can do whatever the hell they want to with the 13 series.

I still gotta finish playing XIII-2... I've been too lazy to finish it ._.

I still haven't finished FF13-1 yet. I'm only around 20-24 hours in. I just get a little sleepy when I play yet I started FFX after on the PC and already have around 70-80 hours. I suppose it's because I do try to play right before bed.

I'm surprised that FF13 is getting a 3rd installment. I mean a direct sequel is rare enough, but a trilogy? Did not see that coming. It seems good.

Still gotta beat one. Hears hoping that square decides to work on their other tittles besides ff next.

Anyone else find it interesting that they used 13 days on the 13th installment? Just wondering. Carry on.

I never even bothered playing 13 and they're already coming out with a third installment. Shit, I was only interested in versus....

For those who want to catch up with the series...

Well considering that FFXIII and FXIII-2 are the only two platinum trophies I have... I would be excited. I just did not like the way FFXIII-2 ended, and I found the DLC for Lightning to be a bit boring...

On the plus side I do like the way you 'hopefully' can interact with the environment. Jumping, climbing, grabbing, looks good to me. I just hope it is something you can do anywhere, versus at only specific locations used for plot progression. The battle system from my first glance looks very different, only one person XD But if it is interactive somewhat then that would be sweet.

how many more sequel can that make out of Final fantasy 13.. @.@.. apprently not enough.. not neccesary a bad thing though..

Seriously though. I didn't play the second episode so I won't be able to play this one either. Looks like the battle system is still the same and it already didn't convince me.

@.@... do people actually play Final Fantasy for its gameplay? But by far FF-13 has the best sound track over all the Final fantasy series in my opinion

I can only thing of 3 memorable songs from that soundtrack. Final Fantasy IX, my personal favorite soundtrack, is a gem. It has some of the most beautiful melody themes in the series.
