Well, the fight with st. nick wasn't shown explicitly also in the original LN.
Keep in mind that this was a chapter from volume 2 which consists of side stories explaining the events that made Kirito to finally become the infamously known "Beater" and "Black Swordsman".

The anime is following the story chronologically, while the 1st chapter after the prologue actually skipped directly to Floor 78.

The Sacred Dragon Alliance guild is a clearing group. In the novel Kirito takes note that only Klein was tired after coming back in that he must have dueled someone for a negotiation of some sort. But in the anime Kirito was filled with rage to observe anything. That and everyone from Klein's guild was dead tired too so I dont know what really happened lol.

I might have gotten emotional over this episode if there weren't Death Flags every couple minutes and the guild members weren't retarded and Kirito didn't wind up conveniently receiving a message absolving him of any guilt.

Also, when I look at the sword Kirito uses versus Santa, it looks more like an ice-element weapon rather than one that works against ice.

Episode 3.

I'll be blunt. That episode sucked.

From the easily predictable deaths of Expendable Squad, to the giant, derp eyes Santa Claus(Was I the only one who laughed at that?) to the overly long and severely narmy farewell message...just a bad episode all around.

Why does he think that? If anything, it would have saved them, seems like he's trying hard to find something to be guilty of. But again this episode didn't make much sense. I still felt emotional... A bit.

Blargh, the next episode isnt really my cup of tea.

This episode was okay. Kirito is badass as always.
