Episode 14 was amazing. Beautiful man tears were shed. I cried too...cause I was rolling my eyes so hard at the badly done drama it hurt. OH!
I'm not sure what your point is. Though I disagree, it's fine if you didn't like how the drama played out.

Episode 14.Well that was...massively underwhelming.
Spoiler:
I'm not impressed. Like, at all. And there's like, 8 more episodes to go? Suddenly, this show is looking like dropped material.

They actually did mention that Heathcliff never had his HP in the yellow before this episode. Also what shows do you like? It's called character development. Not every show needs to have %100 action and explosions every episode. Or can you not appreciate any romance or drama? Well, regardless, I can say that there is more action in the new arc.

I'm well aware not every show needs action and explosions. But this show has just that.

It's not pure drama after this, there's arguably more action in the ALO arc.

Yeah, sure. Kirito looked really ready for action at the end of this episode...

This was probably asked already, but how does the anime stack up to the light novel?

This was probably asked already, but how does the anime stack up to the light novel? Its ok. The light novels start with floor 74 after the prologue, so you get gleameyes right away. All of the stuff before that are side stories from volumes 2 and I think volume 8 has the murder mystery. Episode 14 is way more epic in the light novels though.

People have been raving about SAO left and right, and I don't get them one bit. I'm still trying to fathom how you people are able to keep watching the anime. I mean, SAO is about as terrible as I gets; hell it may be worse than Twilight, if that's even possible. Why? Let me proceed to rack off a list of reasons.
No, don't even try defending the novels either. I've read most of them. Characters are barely developed. There are plot holes and hand-waves left and right. The novels contain no literary merit; I mean, they are the type of book you pick up, read in an evening, and then forget about once you pick up your next book. C'mon guys, the SAO universe is not even an original idea. This novel is only popular because a bunch of morons in Japan are suckers to moe, and you guys just hop on the bandwagon "cuz it's cool, yo."
I mean, enlighten me. I don't see what you guys see in it. I just can't figure this one out; why do you guys like this anime, so much so that you don't drop it?
At the end of the day though, its all opinions.
- The power of love and willpower allow Kirito to cheat death where rules are clearly defined. This is a common theme with many anime these days, sadly; it makes me wonder if Japan bothers to teach their youth about this thing called "cohesive plots," or if their generation is completely devoid of any creativity.
[*]The main character's goals change nearly every episode in the series because the writers of the anime are retards and decided to jump around the timeline like they are dancing on a hot bed of coals. This makes the main character nigh impossible to follow.
[*]Characters are introduced, and then NEVER TOUCHED AGAIN. The ones that stick around don't even get their own characterization.
[*]The retarded writers decided to start the series with side stories, which are designed to enhance a plot that is already there. Of course, how can you enhance a plot IF IT DOESN'T EVEN EXIST IN THE FIRST PLACE?
[*]And I quote, "all I’ve been given by this anime so far is that there’s this really COOL dude named Kirito who wears lots of depressingly dark clothing, and along the way he picks up girls like they’re fucking Pokemon. I’m supposed to be like 'AWW YEAH YOUR SO DAMN COOL KIRITO.'"
[*]The anime is based on a series of novels... that are garbage.

It's not just about the Characters , but the very idea of VRMMO's itself is one of the things why i or we like in this anime, i mean "what gamer doesn't wish for VRMMOs to come true?" , plus the thrill of seeing what the next game world Kirito will enter be like. Yeah sometimes Kirito can be OP in some moments , especially that certain scene in the GGO arc. But still , i loved it and read all the way to volume 10 now waiting for volume 11. At 1st i didn't really intended to watch this thinking it was just some anime adaptaion of some mmo, but it turned out differently than i thought.
