I don't know, but it has been noted that new Bakemonogatari releases sometimes actually outsold new K-On! releases, which is pretty outstanding considering the type of show Bakemonogatari is.

Well it was delayed again (big surprise.) and apparently we'll be getting the last episode streamed around the middle of June, whilst the last dvd comes out at the end of June.

Here's hoping SHAFT stick to their word and just release the damn episode ;___;

Big Surprise, again with the delay XD

I never really understood why this series is popular. What is even more baffling though is that no anime company is taking advantage of that popularity, including Shaft.

Pardon me for saying this. I do love the series due to its brilliance and great artwork. But I still think that most people overrated this stuff.

Does anybody here mind sharing some insights on what I might missed??

Insights of what exactly? If you mean why it's "overrated", then you're just going to get the usual bunch of personal opinions and no real "answers".

Man it's been like....a year maybe, since this series started. I'm glad we finally got the end to the series, as much as I love Bakemonogatari I did just want to have my conclusion already.

Spoiler:
So far I've only watched the Raw and done my best to piece things together. It was very cool to see Shinobu come into action (even if it did go a bit loony tunes with all the jumping around.) There's something oddly awesome about how emotionless stare or maybe that's just because I'm a lolicon.

It appears Oshino has left for good now, which is a big shame since I liked his character a lot, I'm guessing someone fills in for him in some way in the novels. (Perhaps Shinobu?)

I loved seeing how close Senjougahara and Araragi are now though, lets just hope she never loses that sharp tongue of hers!


I think the fact it's taken so long to get here may give the ending a feeling of lack-luster but for me it was more of relief and a bit of sadness since I loved every character in it, and I'm praying to the gods of SHAFT that they decide to do a Season 2 (Considering how well this series did in Japan it wouldn't surprise me if they did more.)

Well anyway now to wait for the subs, I look forward to actually fully understand what's going :P

I think this wrapped things up nicely. At least, the things that happened within Bakemonogatari and not before. It's interesting to see Araragi compromise on one of his own ideals and ask to be saved. We also get an understanding of how he appreciates the people he has helped in different ways.

But, damn, Shinobu just destroyed Black Hanekawa. A vampire's Spinzaku Kick is on a whole other level.


C'mon, Shaft! Make Kizumonogatari! (When you have the staff for it.)

What else can I say about the finale, aside from it didn't disappoint my expectations.

lol at the notion of Shinobu replacing Oshino. That loli vampire doesn't even seem to be capable of speaking. And if oshino reall has left for good that must mean Araragi passed the test with flying colors XD

I really liked the Finale.

I also really appreciated how Araragi's selfless sacrificial tendencies were put to a stop thanks to Hitagi. I mean if she hadn't told him that she would kill anyone who killed him; He probably would have died right there. Everything was like I expected it except maybe one thing. What's really the connection between Araragi and Shinobu? Why did she come out of his shadow? If this is a spoiler from Kizumonogatari then don't reply I'll wait for the novels or when shaft animates it.

It's a shame it's over though this was one of my favourite series.



Overall series appreciation 8.5/10
Didn't get perfect marks due to the wait in between episodes which kind of ruined a bit of the pace and mood that was set in between all the others.

Shinobu coming out of the shadow and kicking ass was worth all 15 episodes to witness.

Overall an amazing anime series, definitely one of my favorites now. Just wish the gap had not been so long for the 2 extra episodes but that is life =/

Well I beg to differ.

Spoiler:
Ultimately it can be said that it was Araragi's will that saved him. His will to call for help. In this case, Shinobu. However, the will to live was due to Hitagi not by his own.

The prequel novel to top-selling anime Bakemonogatari, titled Kizumonogatari, has received the long-sought confirmation for an animated adaptation.

I am very excited about this announcement, and hopefully it will come out in Winter 2011.
