most overrated anime series on the planet. That said, it WAS good up to the last 3 episodes. New vocal cast that dosn't suck ass would really help as well.

and the changes to the second movie are quite extensive. the first just layed the foundation. this is were it really starts getting good

Hey, don't get me wrong. As I said, I enjoyed it. I will explain further then. Yes, the show is good. Yes, I knwo full well the budget issues and everything else that came into play, have seen the movie, own them all and the volumes, ect ect. That being said, I always run into people that use the budget as an excuse and then say "if only! if only they coulda done a good ending this would be the best series EVAR!!" and I strongly disagree. Thats all.
I am serious about the voice acting, hated it.

I've been wondering after listening to MAHQ's podcasts on Evangelion. What's so special about these constant remakes? I've seen the 1.11 and it's exactly the same as the original TV ver. I don't see why you people are going gaga over something that's already been remade over and over again. You're watching the exact same thing that was made years ago.

1.11 was to get people back into the flow of eva and a anmazing inprovment in quality as well as to get the buget. trust me. its 2.22 were the BIG changes start. download it. if anything you mabye wasted a little hd space and can delete it later but trust me. its amazing. they changed the story the most in the part

Well even if it's done with better animation quality, the fact still stands that it's still another remake. If something keeps getting remade over and over again, it becomes stale and that's what's happening to Evangelion. Even if 3.33 or 9.99 comes out, it's still the same as the original TV series. Sure I don't doubt there's something different here and there but they're small. Like that diamond angel in 1.11 where it changes shape when it attacks, it's a little interesting but that has no effect on the overall series other than being a mere touch-up. This is no different from Haruhi's Endless Eight.

noooo not what i mean. i mean major changes to the story cutting out entire scenes and adding completely different ones,its a big difference. and for the record theres only going to be 4 rebuild movies. and its the first time its been rebuilt

I didn't mean it literally when that there's gonna be a 9.99. That was merely an exaggeration. And I don't care how many of these remakes come out. Even with these "new scenes" you forget that the overall story is still the same freaking thing. Just because Asuka is in Unit 3 instead of Toji, and Shinji still being a total wuss and leaving NERV after killing Unit 3 with Asuka inside, it's pretty much the exact same overall thing. Nit picking, "oh but the pilot is different" or "there's this new scene", if the conclusion is still the same, it's the same freaking story. Now if this was a sequel to the first Evangelion story like Code Geass to Code Geass R2, then sure it be fine but these 1.0 or 2.0 whatever movies are just remakes with nothing more than "lipstick" on something that would end the same way as the TV series.
So really you people are giving Evangelion too much credit for something that just being remade over and over again just with better animation.

As someone who has never really enjoyed the series and hates Shinji I still respect it. And granted I had a bad experience with the show. Long story short I was showed Death/Rebirth and then End of Eva back to back...needless to say I was like "WTF WAS THIS SHIT?" I realize though that without Eva anime would probably be worse off.
Since then I have seen 1.11 and downloading 2.22 now. I actually really like the first movie and what they did to the characters namely Shinji. He still has problems but isn't as much of a bitch. His actions are reasonable but also does not annoy the piss out of you. Also the eye porn is never a bad thing. God damn it looks good.

I can't predict anything if they added something REALLY NEW to the story
EDIT: I messed up the Eva units, since Eva-05 (Mari's unit) almost didn't do anything special than just blowing self up. So, I kinda forgot about that unit.
