Man. Eva was good... Just gonna watch it to see how they changed it. Mari looks nice thougn XD. Gotta say that the troll pic is refinately true :D. Damn some producers are lazy!

that is true and untrue at the same time, i see why you say there lazy by makeing a lot of scenes in the first movie almost identicle, but they didint just use recycled imigase ethier. they started from scratch and just used everything as a refrance

I kind of figured that Khara would go for the Rei route more than the Asuka route to balance out what had happened in the TV series, and I was right. Almost. Until Kaworu shoved the Lance through Unit-01. Basically, Rei x Shinji = the end of the world. Literally. Well, the "human world" anyway. Regardless, I didn't expect Asuka to be taken out of the action so quickly considering she managed to upstage Mari's entrance by Inazuma Kicking an Angel. I'm liking the changes done to the Angels this time around (I didn't really like the changes done to Ramiel more so than the original). Sahaquiel was interesting because before it was just this thing hurtling towards the ground, but in Rebuild, it feels more like a living creature. Same goes for Zeruel to a lesser extent. I'm liking the alterations in character development with Rei becoming progressively more emotional and Asuka becoming softer. The elevator scene was even more of a outstanding moment for me than seeing Track 27.

I still don't like how other people can blatantly state the motivations of other people though (ex.Kaji's exposition on Masato). I understand it's that way due to time constraints, but I don't have to like it.

I don't see how I'm ignorant or coming into this with no knowledge. I really don't see a difference between these rebuilds and the TV series. They're almost like Gundam contemplation movies.

yea rei having emotions and auska actualy being approachable is a really good change, however i cant wait to see how the hell rei and shinji end up getting out of unit 1. evangelion q is going to be very interesting

Have you actually watched 2.22 yet? Because nothing you've said so far has made it seem you have. If you have not watched it, then you should promptly shut up. If you have, then I have no further issues with you.

Well this ignorant guy has already seen it. And it's still pretty much the same as the TV series. This is more like, "Oh no this is actually how Evangelion is suppose to be." Before you go accusing me of hating Evangelion, I don't hate it, I find it quite interesting but I think Gainax is wasting it's time constantly revamping NGE.

Actually, only 1.11 is the same as the series. 2.22 is half different half the same, whereas 3.0 and 4.0 will be entirely new stories.

Awesome x100. I don't care what y'all say about the whole "twists" they put in this movie, it's fresh and it's great to see.

One more thing I wanna get off my chest:

I was never really bothered by Shinji in the original series. I can see that he was emo and that he would generally puss out in a lot of things. However, in this 2nd movie, Shinji is just a normal kid that turns more and more bad ass as the movie progresses. Anyone who makes complaints about Shinji being an annoying little bitch in this one needs to kindly STFU and GTFO. The parts where Shinji cooks for everyone, goes ape-shit when Asuka's entry plug was destroyed, and sacrifices everything to save Rei are all MASSIVE improvements on his character. Whatever emo-ness he had in the series are nowhere to be seen in this movie.


I still prefer the Asuka in doujins, however.
All in all, great movie. Will watch again very soon.

Well, my theory is that Shinji inherited the HIP because of how closely related his DNA is with Adam. So he sent everything back in time to try and re-live life. Going by that, it would make sense that all of the characters kept the same personality improvements. Rei included, did you notice she smiled, cooked and that her room was clean?.

Surprise! Most of those things you listed as being positive for Shinji also happened in the series. Just not as "colorfully" animated. Also, you seem to have missed the part where he runs away in the movie. So yeah, there is emo-ness.

As someone who's only seen a few episodes of dubbed original NGE before he knew what fansubs were, and has no other experience with the series...

This is fucking awesome. I wish the next ones came out within a freaking week >_<. I need more Asuka (Although, I'm really hoping she isn't crazy or some shit now. I can't get enough of her particular brand of Tsundere), and I need some damn explanations because I really don't know what the fuck is going on.

But it's fun to watch. I like it.

Also: lol at Japanese Voice Actors speaking english. Always hilarious.

IMO there's no distinct difference between the real and the new version of Shinji. Still kinda annoying, but still, I bet some people would actually go that way if it does happen in real life? It's only a character, ahoy! I mean in the new version he "adapts" faster and his mind battle is also "faster"..

I watched the Cinema screening and BD.. I do think there's some difference scenes in it. Quite a nice turn taken by the creator I should say. The first movie s dead boring, the second was.. cool. Now no one knows where the ride will take us..

As some other people, I have less complains about new Shinji. He may still be a whiny bitch sometimes, but in more tolerable way. And the part where he owns Zeruel? Yeah son, that's how you're supposed to do it.


I was happy that Asuka was almost eaten, although I preferred mass lance impalement from EoE.

Mari is basically a huge bundle of lolwhut?
I hope third movie will clear up her story a bit...if there is one.

Finally, new Angel designs look absolutely fantastic. I kinda preferred the old Eva designs tough.
