It's kinda approaching the end of Naruto, but there's too many questions to answer to be the end of it. I think Naruto's not going to end soon.

It probably has like 100-150 chapters left, Kishi said himself that it would be like 500-something chapters.

How in the world is Kishimoto-san going to end Naruto now? I think he made a really bad choice on having Pain blow up Konoha like that. With Kakashi dead, who knows where the series is going?

With Kakashi dead, who knows where the series is going? The series doesn't revolve around Kakashi. If he's dead, the story will just focus on the many other characters. There's Rock Lee, Neji, Hinata, Kiba, Shino, Ino, Shikamaru, Chouji, Sai, Sakura, Sasuke, and, of course, Naruto. The series has a ton of characters.

Time for the young leaves of Konoha.I think that was the whole lesson of the "Asuma dies - defeat Kakuzu and Hidan" arc. And it's been brought up afterwards, too, that the younger fighters have to take the place of the older ones, even if the older ones don't seem that old.

I honestly don't think Kishimoto has any idea at all on how he plans on ending this series. I actually don't think most manga creators have any idea how to end their series with the exception of Nobuhiro Watsuki who seems to be one of the only (I'm sure there are others) that has ended multiple series after a reasonable length. I know that in some cases the creators are told to extend the length even though they have an ending planned (One Piece was scheduled to end on two separate occasions but Oda's editors told him to keep going due to popularity) but it seems that endings and excessively long running stories are manga's weak points. Perhaps taking a more American comics approach sometimes might help where after a creator has worked on a series for 5-6 years to hand it off to somebody else. I mean these people are writing AND drawing (with the exception of Death Note and a few other writer/artist tandems) the same characters 45-46 weeks a year for sometimes up to 10-15 years. They are going to run out of ideas or sensible things to do with the characters. Heck, there are characters and plot threads that haven't been addressed in Naruto in literally years (Gaara and Kabuto come to mind). To reiterate most manga-ka are artists first and writers second and its obvious in how most don't seem to plan endings. I know I sound bitter but I've went from Naruto being one of my favorite series of all time to me almost resenting it due to crap like Pein literally coming out of NOWHERE to be the destroyer of Konoha, killer of Jiraiya, killer of Kakashi (maybe), and other such bullshit. I'll buy the American released volumes up until probably about volume 40 then I'm done.

One piece looks like its nowhere near ending, so many things can be done with it, so i dont understand how oda could've ended it on 2 seperate occasions.
I fkn hate sasuke for winning itachi, itachi was just badass and sasuke thinks he is just pro, but he's just akatsuki's bitch..
Well naruto can't possibly end so quickly, too many unanswered questions, plus it would be nice to have many other gaidens, like the kakashi gaiden.

Just look at One Piece, no one dies, and everyone knows it, so the cliffhangers there are non-existant.

Same with Madara, he's been foreshadowed since waaay back in part.1 when Itachi mentioned the third MS user.

still the fact that sasuke didnt die and realised he sucked ass.. maybe he did after that.. but why did itachi have to die.. T.T

I know Pein has technically been around for some time but all of his recent activity is what pisses me off. A lot of the latest techniques characters have been debuting in Naruto are like small children playing battle. Oh I know the Rinnegan which just happens to be this other eye technique that no one has ever heard of, oh there are six of me, oh I can activate techniques in my dead body doubles, oh I can't be touched. It just starts to get a bit silly. The thing about Oda wanting to end One Piece was actually in an interview that was published in one of the U.S. manga release volumes. Also, don't a lot of the villains die in One Piece? Luffy killed Arlong, Don Krieg, and Crocodile Zero as far as I could tell. Keep in mind I only read the official volumes of One Piece because I don't illegally download (with the exception of reading Naruto weekly but I also buy it too) so if I'm wrong about any of those deaths then I stand corrected.

actually in one piece no one actually dies, they just get 'defeated'.. now most of the villains you talk about are in impel down or some other place..
one piece is pretty PG without all the boobs.. haha

It's the same as when every OP fan was oh so sure that CP9 and that other wanker that Robin "broke the spine off" was dead, only to reappear on a cover-story alive and well.
When Pell survived that nuke it pretty much became sealed that good guys don't die either in OP.

It just starts to get a bit silly.Pein's the (supposed) leader of Akatsuki, the toughest group of ninjas in the Naruto world. He had better be badass with awesome powers. If he wasn't like a god, then it wouldn't make sense.
As for him "coming out of NOWHERE," that's always happened in Naruto. In the very beginning of the series: "We're on a simple mission, oh some rich guy wants this bridge builder dead, it's a really hard mission, look there's some tough guy that gives Kakashi a hard time, and his partner Haku has a special technique and he can somehow make indestructible ice mirrors and fly between them." The crazy shit has always been hidden behind the term "bloodline limit," but it's always been there. With Shippuuden, Kishimoto's just stopped using the term "bloodline limit" and stopped trying to explain how exactly a person could manipulate six bodies at will and not die when his head is cut off.
