Child of Samael
I had the same opinion on wing when i saw bishonen yaoi boys on the cover.. if it wasn't for my love of gundam i wouldn't of watched.. endless waltz was the only good thing to come out of the series. Turn A and i think Victory gundam had kids in the same position.. which almost every gundam series had a combination of the kid, mommy dying in front of them and a war with the the apposing opposition.
Still haven't go my unicorn disk yet.. so i have to wait until later to see if age is any good...

@Catcher, I think there's fundamental difference with Megaman Zero and this, since Megaman Zero is an actual "sequel" to the series. Even my first thoughts "what a sequel to the series? must try"Of course. A sequel and a completely different universe are separate matters. I would have most likely played MMZ no matter how contrary to my preferences the art style was, for the sole reason that it is a sequel to an amazing series. However, I only used this as an example of not letting appearances be the deciding factor of an anime previous to viewing it, like I've observed many people doing. There are different, more valid reasons for people to be prejudiced against the show before viewing it, but this is only in address to those that dislike the show because of its visual aspect. The visual aspect of an anime alone is quite possibly one of the worst reasons to quantify a show as "bad".
Oh, and can you please start quoting what you say in reply to me, if you choose to reply later? The notification system is rather helpful in that regard.

I didn't even know there was another Gundam series coming out ^_^;
I am not really a big fan of gundam however, in all the many different series, I've probably only seen 3 of them, 00 being one of them. I don't know what it is about Gundam, but it just never appealed to me much, even years back before all this moe filled anime started spewing out from everywhere I wasn't interested in it, however I do like mecha anime, but for some reason Gundam shows are a hit or miss.
From what I've seen about this new show it looks like it could go either way for me. I didn't like a series I've seen because they looked like "kid" shows. Just the story, mecha and overall presentation are what interest me. Calling this one a kiddy show would probably make me even more curious to watch, and I probably will. I mean come on, I watched Heroman, and enjoyed it. If I could enjoy watching that then there's no way I could speak ill of AGE until watching it all.

Damn I'm totally not amused... something tells me that those kid pilots might start kicking balls...
Now I'm only watching this for characters that might appear from the UC universe(ex: the omnipresent-captain Bright), MS & Gundams(i hope i don't meh), and the omnipresent Haro
PLSS this new series will make Gundam G look cooler!!!

Call me prejudiced, but this is how my experience tells me.

In contrast to Akihiro Hino, who only did Inazuma Eleven.
-------------------------------
So, in the end I have no Trust at all for Akihiro Hino, and the fact that it was announced in Comic Corocoro.
And seriously of this is a "groom new fan" ploy, it's stupid, because there was no need for this. I watched "Self-destruct Gundam" when I was in 7th Grade, and I still Loved it. then How about the kids who lived to watch the 0079 era, they surely didn't need the story to be dumbed down to make them love gundam until know.

I have had gigantic prejudice against J.C. Staff lately, even though I know that I probably shouldn't be labeling all their shows as horrible past the halfway point before I see the first episode. I wasn't addressing my criticisms at you in particular, in any case.

I'll give this series a shot, same with Gunpla Builders.
Haven't watched any gundam anime except for the first Unicorn ep.

Looks like the VA's for characters have been decided.

Left to Right=
Flit Asuno: Yuuko Sanpei
Asem Asuno: Yuka Nishigaki
Kio Asuno: Komatsu Mikako
Gundam AGE: Hiroshi Kamiya
Emily Armond: Minako Kotobuki
Ace Now: Yuuki Kaji
Grudech Aynor: Hiroki Touchi
Miles Aloi: Kitanishi Junko
Couple comments.....Nearly all-female VA in a serious show such as Gundam. Not too sure if it'll succeed as voice acting goes.
Comment#2: Why is Tierra Erde AGE gundam? First of all, WHY IS THE GUNDAM TALKING?! SHOULD IT EVEN TALK IN THE FIRST PLACE?
Explanation for AGE to speak:
J.A.R.V.I.S.', the personal artificial intelligence computer program.
I don't even know anymore...

Hey look more bitching. How about you wait till the execution before judging?
In concerns to the mostly female cast, female VAs are best for voicing young boys. If you watched more other animes, most are voiced by female VAs. Ex. Erio from Nanoha Strikers, he was voiced by Inoue Marina. So you're free to believe what you want, but a mostly all female cast does not equate to a show not succeeding.
As quoted in bold, it's most likely the computer/system that's talking. Not the actual Gundam itself. Think of it as an A.I.? FMP also had something similar when the Arbalest had that A.I. Just because the Gundam has, what it appears to be, an A.I. and seeing as how this series is main target is "kids", shouldn't be that much of a surprise. This is also a new thing to Gundam and I find this to be an interesting concept. So calm down kid.
Of course every "final" judgment should be reserved till the show has actually aired. It could be a masterpiece or it could be a piece of crap. Nobody knows.

^This.
Screw this new series (which looks like "Gundam-encounters-Yugioh/Digimon" to me =\), we want the manly U.C. shows back.

Time to bump this thread with a 5 minute PV. Less than a month away from airing!
As Bushi said, I will certainly not hesitate to laugh in the haters' faces if this show turns out good. After all, if Level 5 is behind this, the chances of this show being bad is less than being good.

Since Gundam AGE airs next week. I feel this is appropriate before the first episode. Even though I know for a fact everyone will scream vitriol and be little 5 year-olds, yes behaving at an age younger than what AGE is targeting at, please rethink about your life.
To make this really simple and clear, Gundam has always been and always will be a toy commercial. Even Unicorn which is loved by lots of people is also a toy commercial. A toy commercial for an adult is no different from a toy commercial for a kid. The fact that these series have good stories is a nice bonus. And the typical Gundam cliche of young kid piloting a Gundam in the TV series will always be around with very few exceptions i.e. G Gundam and Gundam 00 S2.
These two videos explains it very well.

This is really a traditional Gundam archetype pilot episode, but there are some key differences. Some are for the better, and some are for the worse. For one, Flit is far more proactive than most of the pilots that precede him, and a tensai-shounen. He is totally up to date with current events, actually foresaw the attack of the UE. In addition, he is actually responsible for building his own Gundam. This skips the typical 'accidentally becomes a pilot' phase, which is totally welcome for me.
The episode itself was actually not very exciting, and pales in comparison to the three series before it (00, SEED and Wing). However, I actually see a lot of potential in this series because I'm already liking our protagonist more than half of the Gundam protagonists upon the viewing of the first episode of their respective series. Fighting aliens is the one thing I am slightly worried about (think back to the 00 film) but still, as long as it's Gundam I'll keep watching it. The first episode not being bad is an added bonus, and allows me to shove it harder into the haters' faces.
Oh, production values are top notch. As expected from Sunrise for Gundam.

*ahem*
OMG WHAT TEH HELL WHY IS THERE A KID IN THE GUNDAM?!?! WHERE'S MY ADULT UC SERIES?!!?!?
Ok now seriously I never expected the first ep to be a masterpiece but then again this same thought should be applied to all shows. So far the origins of the UE are of course unknown hence their name but that's one of the interesting things about them. Definitely be looking forward to getting to know their backstory and what not in future episodes. So far off to a good start.
Oh and Imp, even though this is going off topic to some degree, I seriously hope that you aren't one of those "people" that bitch about the 00 movie because of the ELS. There's enough retards whining about that and that retarded line of "oh if there's aliens then I'll just watch Macross." And lets be very clear, just because they're UE, doesn't mean they're "aliens". They could be just fully automated machines like say the Mobile Dolls from Wing.

As long as I get newer Gundam games(since if AGE does invited a good number of crowd/more sales = higher chance of ppl wanting AGE on the gundam series games like SD, A.C.E., or someting like GAS) then I'm happy to watch this...
If only Macross has new series too + still waiting for EVA:I can(not) wait any longer..

I'm still finding it hard to swallow this series.
- My biggest fear so far would be the lack of "Zaku" type mobile suits, from what i see so far, i see bacues with wings attached.
- Alien Unknown enemy. I hope that they'll explain their origins in time. Gundam series in recent times seemed to have drifted away from their sci-fic factor by skipping away things that demands answers. Eg. 00 series with their fairy dust, which was never explained how it was even created and how it's properties made it so versatile.
- Age's design is plain, not that it pisses me off, just sightly dissapointed. It's additional parts shown in the opening made it look like bolt gundam and exia avalanche repectively.
In all, it isn't sitting well with me currently. If it continue, i'll just drop it i guess. Not all gundam series are made for my age anyway.
