does this mean that shinji has the power to manipulate SPACE TIME to a life where he accepted appraise and interaction from the very beginning? all the characters are essentially opposite and it makes me assume something. changing this fundemental aspect of shinjis personality FLIPPED THE WORLDS INHABITANTS PERSONALITY AROUND. what kind of power is that? why is he so... dare i say, 'instrumental' to the earths history?

this is a crazzzy theory that literally just came to me, but i believe angelic days is proof that the instrumentality project succeeded. nerve was pre emptive of the end of the world, so all the characters enact the events in the series to influence shinji and his... dorment power? for a greater cause; to start the world over, give him a second chance... possibly to tap his power? now that hes a different person, or rather everyone... what are they truly like? this is all just a theory mind you

Angelic Days has next to nothing to do with the anime. It is a completely separate story that was based on the little vision Shinji had in ep. 26 about a life where things are 'normal'. Also, in order to say that Instrumentality succeeded would be to say that humanity is now a single existence either in the form of LCL, or the form of 'God'.

@The Jesus: now that's an explanation that I can understand and appreciate. It certainly makes sense. I think by participating in this thread I now can fully appreciate the series, even if I think that the series could have been better and somewhat less mind-boggling without some analyzation.

i think the series as a whole will unlock more secrets, just sayin that its convenient that this perfect world was influenced with one boys personality being flipped up side down. i dont think its a vision, i think its a new... universe, if you will. maybe thats the power that shinji wields, he essentially provided a rebirth to everyone since he had the epiphany during the destruction of the world. again, just theory... i probably dont know what im talking about.

While it may be possible for Shinji to have actually created some sort of parallel universe, I'm of the opinion that it extends too far out of bounds, if that makes any sense. I'm having a hard time explaining why I don't agree with that view.

The problem with looking at all things NGE-related is that some stuff is created more as merchandise, rather than creating a continuity with the original. You have NGE (anime), EoE, NGE (manga), Girlfriend of Steel 1 and 2 (Angelic Days falls into #2), the Ikari Raising Project manga, and Record of Heaven's Decent manga. It is ironic, though, that the doujin RE-TAKE falls more into the basic NGE continuity than most of the offshoots of Evangelion and it has a variation of your idea.

Its not so much that Shinji himself recreated the world. Through the Human Instrumentality Project and Rei/Lilith's basic premise as to how it should be carried out, left many possibilities open. The initiation through the combination of Lilith and Adam along with either Kaworu or another Angel would have led to other possibilities, most likely with humans being wiped from existence and Angels inheriting the Earth. Anyway, when it came down to what should come of humanity through Instrumentality, Rei/Lilith gave the choice to Shinji. I'm not sure as to why, but it probably had to do with Unit 01 being the only Eva created using Lilith, as well as both Unit 01 and Rei being connected to Shinji's mother, Rei being a genetic clone of Yui and Unit 01 being bonded with Yui's soul. On Wikipedia, it mentions that Unit 01 became godlike in attaining the Fruit of Life and the Fruit of Knowledge through the unification of humans and angels.

Shinji, himself doesn't have the power to manipulate reality. He was only given the opportunity to dictate the way in which Instrumentality would affect mankind.

I'm all up for saying that any other NGE series spawned from NGE would be something of an alternate dimension or Shinji created some sort of his own reality after given the choice to be separate from the sea of LCL.

Actually Eva unit 01 was born from Lilth...hence why it was a Test Type, why its so powerful, why SEELE needed it, and why Rei had Lilth's soul and Yui's DNA.

@ ShadowRonald: Oh boy ... Unit-01 and Adam are NOT the same. Second Impact was the self-destruction of Adam, after which, Adam reverted into an embryo. That embryo wound up in the hands of Gendo, who fused it into his right hand.

Unit-01's connection to Yui stems from the start-up experiment for Unit-01 with Yui as the pilot. It is assumed that incident caused Yui's soul to be bonded with Unit-01. This soul allows Unit-01 to go berserk, and is considered the reason why Shinji has such a high synch rate with it.

I just read through the whole thread and now I want to re-watch Eva... again. And so the marathon begins once again.

im gunna place myself n tha same category az the Jesus ZeroOBK, I feel that i kno 98% ov wut went on durin evangelion, but Anno said that every1 is saposd 2 interpret eva in there own way he did this so eva would be rememberd & fanboys such as our selves would argue amogst ourselves bout wut really hapnd mo than 10 years after it ended so this forum & other forums lik it r completly pointless & the Jesus & ZeroOBK u guys shudnt take this so seriously just let every1 hav ther opinions, & only point out where u kno there ong *ShadowRonald* also i agree that u shudnt form opinoions on certain parts ov tha anime until uve watchd tha movie & a few episodes not ounce not twice but dare i say 3 times. (also i feeel that wut happnd n episode 25 & 26 r do not coincide wit tha movie episodes but r an alternate reality, wut could hav happnd)
