I agree. I also thought that the pacing of this episode was a bit rushed, and could have been kept either until another season or at the very end of this one, (even though I still enjoyed it).

Not a bad episode but when Kyousuke says he hates Kirino I thought that was a little much, I mean my little brother can be a dick sometimes and really piss me off but I'd never hate him and the only way I could is if he killed someone close to me.

So did Kirino ever get an anime eventually in the novels, or did that never come up?

Interesting episode. I thought Kirino getting depressed was a bit odd, didn't think such a thing would happen. However based on the above, I'm torn on whether that may be a possiblilty of how she reacts or just something the studio wanted. Kyousuke defending his sister with a great passion doesn't get old for me and that small emotion that Kuroneko showed in the end was a felt blue to me. Made me go "aww"

Kalistean is right. Ep 8 did feel like a time jump occurred. Just BOOM and Kirino's work is all of a sudden popular? Anyway I knew from the beginning that long haired guy was a dick. He looks kinda like a bad guy from Detective Conan >_>. In the end the guy was just jealous, that's what you would call a hater. IMO, it wasn't Kyousuke that saved Kirino it was Kuroneko's badass barebone talking that got the idea to work, You go girl! Now to wait and see what the final life counseling will be like. That has me anticipating the next ep so much

Producer: "Look, I'm not against this story line completely, but lets go over once more okay?"

Mangaka:"Alright - So she wants to make the best anime ever, but then the producer - "

P: "Producer? Like me right? An anime producer?"

M:"Yeah. Anyways, the producer and staff are all being total dicks about it and want to change everything even though they don't know what they are talking about -"

P:"Just to be clear: Were talking about the story right? Not real life?"

M:"Yeah, of course. Anyways... so the staff is all gay and shit, and then she becomes all depressed because of this dumbasss stubborn producer and the director."

P:"You know the director likes this story right? I mean the actual director we have on staff here?"

M:"Really? Oh I meant to say the director was kinda cool - but the producer is still a total fag."

She acts mature for her age, and her tsundere attitude makes her seem fearless, but remember: She couldn't stand up to her Father, she couldn't make friends at the anime girl's meeting, she couldn't tell her friend she liked animanga, and now she can't stand up for her own writings.

I think the story is pointing towards how she acts bold and tough because she feels she has to - partially for her hobby, maybe for other reasons as well (this may allude to the writer's view that otaku's should not be ashamed of or have to defend being otakus).

Remember, she let it slip when mad at Kyosuke "Don't start acting like a brother now, when you've ignored me this whole time."

saw episode 8...wow kirino hit it big with her writing! WHAT!!! no joke kirino's writing may be turned into an anime?! awesome. what was up with the random mech scenes in the opening? that looked like mazinger z, lol that was good "what do you mean use" "i'm not aloud to say something indecent in public" that was funny. hey i'd be nervous too if I had a meeting with a company about turing my book into an anime! holy crap kirino already had the voice actresses planned out, wow doesn't that sound familiar...changing the opening and closing each episode(what was that anime anyway that did that?), holy jeez kirino had everything planned out and when I say everything I mean everything! wow build her up and then break her down...why not just tell kirino that its too much trouble to turn her book into an anime. why didn't anyone want to hear her ideas...oh I don't know because they are professionals and they think kirino is just an amatuer, and whats the best way to make them money is also probably on their minds as well. ah so thats why they wanted to make kirino's book into an anime so soon...it would just be a filler until they could come up with something better. well I give kyosuke mega props for defending his sisters work, and I'm guessing that kuroneko is an only child? well all in all fairly good episode.

it is a big surprise to have kirino's novel into anime.but when she's in the meeting and just starting to spurt her ideas,i gotta say she's over doing it.doing animation isn't easy at it seems.but even though she's iver doing it,the animator suggest to do it different way from the original? that's just wrong.

As in, sucked bad? Was not very good? Hurt the eyes to look at?...kind of thing.

I mean, yes, we didn't actually get to read it, but I'm gonna have to trust Kuroneko's word on this. She and Saori are the well adjusted members of that circle of friends, and her bluntness means that if she sees an error, she will fucking point it out. And we sort of get a hint as to how mind-bogglingly ridiculous it is with the question "Why do all these imouto fall in love with the (female) protagonist?"

And here Kirino gets a bloody anime?

And, after all that begging and posturing and general self-humiliation that Kyouske had to go thru to get all of her fucking stupid ideas pushed through, she STILL has the nerve to act superior?! (I know, I know, nobody told her. It just pissed me off to the point that my wall has a fresh patch in it.)

At this point, I'm just gonna out and say. I fucking hate Kirino now. At first, it was just a general dislike for her horribly spoiled personality, but it's recently evolved into "I will laugh myself to tears if I see you get raped and murdered" sort of hate.

I'm feeling the same way that you are about Kirino. She almost feels as if she has to be...kind of a role model for other people to follow and look up towards, and maybe she is also trying to be that for other otaku, so that they will be less ashamed of their hobby. Merely hypothesizing, but it's what I've gotten from it.
