[Locked] Simulpublished Magazines and Content Removal

1
I find that majority for the people who are angry at fakku is due to 2 things. Paywall and Clairty.

Problem for me was that after reading through walls of text and searching, i found out why fakku had to go through with this changes.

I was angry like others due to lack of clarity from Jacob.

But after reading through what he had to say and additional info given by other users i realized that this is quite a reasonable (and maybe only) solution to the take-down request by wani and other publishing companies.

However problem here is that i had to search and read through for quite a while to understand. (again, maybe i couldn't see this from Jacob's perspective due to the fact that I was angry at first and understood his decision after calming down.)

not everyone is going to spend so much effort and time to understand decision made by Jacob.

lots of people are just going to assume that Jacob is money grabbing greedy man instead of trying to understand him.

so my point here is that there should have been more clarity from the start and that reasons for content removal should be displayed in front page in a concise and clear manner.

P.S. I would buy some books to support the artists as well, it just that me being in Canada and being hit with high shipping cost and duties, it's bit hard for me to buy them without worrying about my bank account q.q

Let's be honest here, FAKKU and its community have been nothing more than a den of thieves until recently. This site and E-H have fostered of culture of blatantly stealing content from talented creators with no expectation of ever giving back. Now that the site is going legitimate, its time for the part of the community who want to continue stealing to leave and never return. Don't try to cater to them; they are a lost cause.

This is a bright new beginning for not only Fakku, but the hard working creators who we have been neglecting for years. Thanks to Jacob and the Fakku crew for making this possible.

That's a blunt way of putting it but you're essentially right. These posts are showing a clear divide between fans who pirated material out of necessity, and those who just want a free fap. I hope that those who are so strongly protesting the change think about whether they really appreciate the work that artists do, and that it's their livelihood. If they're going to miss not having the same content anymore, then they should think about supporting legitimate sources, even if they have to look elsewhere for certain material in the meantime.

It´s more than that. This division is actually a step in the right direction, these kind of people who think they have the right to read hentai for free and only care about hentai if its incest or loli are the ones that keep hentai´s name in the mud, getting rid of those people will not only help Fakku go towards a more artistic approach but also appeal for a much more wide audience that would appreciate a good story but feel disgusted by a community that is so immature that only think about incest, loli and whatever fucked up shit they are obsessed in.

This is a filtering for the greater good of hentai as an art-form and for the artists, not to mention quality and speed of releases.

Not to mention the HD quality due to hiring actual artists (I really love those hand drawn sfx) and having raws straight from Wani themselves.

What I don't understand is why some people are vehemently against the Fakku-Wani deal when it results in free* HD tankoubons and magazine scans.
Sure it's still a bit slow for now due to all the logistics that go with striking deals with large companies and a small staff size. I'll give it a year or so after the first magazine release for Fakku to improve on their delivery speed. For now I think we have to be patient until the business gets on its' feet.

*Some have no intention on purchasing so they will pirate regardless

3. Will the forums still be free to use?

4. What level of censorship will there be?

I'll see if I can answer these two questions. For 3, I'm pretty sure the forums will still be free, as Jacob hasn't mentioned anything about charging for the forums, and I don't think there's any reason for him to do so. Besides, most sites I've been to don't charge for forum access. However, you can't access the FAKKU Books forum unless you've bought at least one book, but the forum itself is free to use.

For 4, Jacob has said the art will be uncensored and so will the content. That means penises and vaginas won't have those black bars that are present in the original Japanese books, and also, in the case of stories published in magazines, the art no longer has that really annoying whiteout style censorship. I can confirm it's all uncensored, as the books I've bought are uncensored and the free magazine stories we've gotten are also uncensored. As far as content goes, nothing will be cut out, so that means people will get to fap to lolis and brothers and sisters getting it on, or whatever else, but only if the content is present in the magazines and books in the first place. In other words, if it's in the original Japanese version, the official English version will have it too.

Talking specifically about content removal: We will continue supporting scanlators in every way possible. I believe that when a legal alternative does not exist, scanlation is necessary to fill in the void and show the publishers/artists that there is demand for their work outside of Japan. I've talked about this before, so here is a pretty good post detailing my thoughts.

I will post more details about my plans a little later, but in regards to the main site here is a rough timeline for content removal:

06/2015: Removal of some specific unlicensed publishers and controversial content
07/2015: Removal of unlicensed manga content
12/2015: Removal of unlicensed doujinshi content

Sorry if I have missed this announcement but can we assume that the launch of this new service will be 12/2015? Or will there be a period in which Fakku wont have most, if all, of its content missing? If that is the case, can you give a projected time period that this will launch?

You want to remove everything unlicencied and "controversial" ?

Who do you think you are ? Some kind of gods of Truth ? Since when in a free, democratic place incest between siblings and fantasm of monster girls is formaly forbidden ? Is having fantasm for nekos a satanist sin ? Ya make me sick.

This is your end, Fakku, and I quit, there's a lot lot of hentai sites out there.
I was here for the community and the good ergonomy, but no more. Your website is slow as shit anyways.

And btw, I have no money for your 20$-per-chapters shitty prices. Who do you think you are ? Some kind of drug dealers ? You're not even doing the work of scanlation.

That is all, what a pity, but looks like money destroys people like the black plague.

Just...wow. You literally have no idea what's going on, do you?

Well maybe yes, I don't know, I've always avoided the forum since you're downgrading posts like the black plague.

What I DO know, is that Fakku has removed around a third of my favs via DMCA and non-conventional justified censorship (because it's incest), licensed books are expensive like hell and I seriously have enough of this shit.
It's enough for me to quit. I may don't know the whole thing, but I don't have the time to read your cute anoncements of changes-to-pay.

I've been a member of Fakku for quite some time and I've been here for most of it and I believe that this is a step in the right direction. If a subscription is all I need to pay to get some primo fap material while also supporting the artists that bring us this wonderful content, I'm all for it. You have my full unwavering support.

@Jacob
After reading through your discussions with everyone here, I must say I am feeling much better about this. Seriously. With regard to missing content I just have to take it like a temporary set back. But maybe eventually they will all be back one way or another and it would also mean a huge step forward for Fakku being more closely associated with the artists.

I'm sure that's one of the reasons why we're also able to get Fakku books of the best quality. Thoroughly happy with my purchase of Renai Sample(Homunculus) and Love Ridden(NaPaTa). But i surely look forward to scanlations still being part of the Fakku uploads.

*sigh*

If anyone is surprised at the fact that Fakku is removing content after they just announced that they were going legit, they only have themselves to blame. I mean, you knew this was coming eventually.

Also a question for Jacob, I noticed on the list of Wani artists you're directly working with there was no mention of ShindoL despite him having a noticeable presence in X-Eros. Is this because of his recent Patreon campaign?

What's immature is your biased opinion, you hypocrite. You failed to mention the fucked up tags that you like to read.

Now, about the free content. From a commercial point of view, it makes sense to offer ad-supported "free" content.
Most free viewers wouldn't pay to read anyway, and the modest ad revenue goes to FAKKU with its "noble" enterprise instead of piracy-oriented websites.

No i think it more that the list of artist in the next few issues of the magazines or who the company is saying is the ones prominent in the next few. But then im not sure either.

>20$ per Chapter
You're high right. 798yen isn't 20$. Fakku isn't gonna almost quad the price. 7-10$ for 20 chapters x 2. Probably... will see. Plus to compare scan to the master files is like comparing Vhs vs bd-hd.

>censorship
How can it be with him removing the non licensed stuff off the site? Is he taking it off all the websites/torrents/ex/purin/100 more sites. He doesn't even do it with his own books. How can you censor anything he doesn't own? Plus the books and mags have loli/incest/monster girls/tentacles.

>books be expensive yo.
Nope. The same book cost the same if it fakku's or the japanese. How much have you ever bough from japan. My copy of pu-jo cost 3000 yen plus 298 shipping to the fowarding company plus 480 to the US plus 200 yen fees for using a forwarding company since barely any japanese store will ship to the us or outside japan. The same japanese tank will cost the same if it from fakku version or any place in japan to send you it. Added thing is it on better paper and uncensored. Only a few rare edition are different.

@Jacob
Will any of the unlicensed work become licensed, because I really love artists like Fue and Noise and I'm really sad that there no longer on fakku.

ShindoL's Patreon is not related to Wani. I'm pretty sure ShindoL can not legally independently "sell" Wani material. That'd be like a screenwriter uploading a film he wrote to a torrent website.

Interesting. I hope this does well because I really like the website, and having a way to support the authors creating the content is always a plus. That being said, the fact that most of my favorite content isn't going to be up will hurt, and I'll probably have to go to other sites while you (hopefully) work up to get enough presence to publish them too.

All that being said, I do have one specific question - is there content that the creators are opposed to putting up online, or cannot? One of my favorite artists is Black Dog, and I've noticed most if not all the content can be purchased but only in physical book form. I don't quite have the balls to have a wall of porn on my bookshelf when I invite friends over, so that is kinda a dealbreaker for me. I would throw all of my money at the site if there was a way to get the digital BOOKS treatment for that though.

The doujin they do probably never can if it based on an anime or licensed series of any sort, but if jacob can make a deal for original doujins or their magazine they under contract with, then it's possible. They don't work for a Wani magazine company.

Doujinshi of the parody type are a legal gray area in Japan. Some companies are fine with it, while others are not. With how Japanese business works, even if you're talking with a company who personally doesn't care about parody works, they will refuse to work with someone dealing with parody works, as to not insult other companies in Japan.

That being said, Fue and Noise do a lot of original art for COMIC Milfs and COMIC LO, both of which are under different publishers. In my personal opinion, it would be wise to focus doing the best we can with WANI before trying to make even more deals with other publishers. That being said, there is no opposition from wanting to work with other publishers, as it has been said in our past panels: "we want to work with everyone".

But these things take time.

In regards to official content we publish not appearing under 'controversial tags' such as incest. This is a bug within the tagging system itself, it requires some time to fix. Both Jacob and I are currently working on massive projects right now and have our hands full with Anime Expo prep work. We will get to fixing it ASAP so those tags appear on our officially licensed content again. For the time being, that content should still be accessible to read from the site. If any licensed content does not appear to work, please message me immediately so we can fix those kind of issues.

Well. That sucks .

I'm not gonna rage or anything, but I did come here mainly for the doujin and incest. Looks like they'll be gone soon, and for a while as well.

In that case, time for a move. If they come back one day, even as paid content, I might consider it.

Wish you all the best for your future endeavours.

Also you guys really need a new PR team. Jerking people along like that with the on and off again removal of content is not cool and probably hurt you rep where it counted most.

well, I think internet is pretty big to find anything you want, good bye Fakku! and R.I.P. In Peace, because i think the number of fans won't increase after the page goes to a premium-like website.
