[Locked] Simulpublished Magazines and Content Removal

2
I registered this account 3 years ago when I was using the site for the first time.

I read through the whole topic and finally know why about 20 of my notifications goes "content does not exist.", along with the incest tag.

Well, since all unlicensed works will be removed eventually, I don't think there is a reason for me to keep staying here when that process is done.

Even if we'll get 40 chapters of licensed hentai every month, most of the old ones would never return.
It's not like I have read everything here. Sometimes I go back to really old pages and found gold.
Now, all I see when ever I use the search function is a blank page and that "U mad?" picture. It's frustrating as hell.

I understand that pirated and licensed works can't be in one place at a time, so I'll leave. I don't think I can pay that much every month for hentai, and I'm sure that the amount of free contents in the future will never be as big as it is now. Especially if they require you to buy a book first to read them, just like the new extra chapters recently.

Regardless, I did have fun here.

I never posted before, and this is my first and probably the last one.

People have already posted every one of my grievances and concerns 100 times over so I'll just be one of the few optimists of the whole thread. I've already bought a few books so I'm really looking forward to more legit content so I'm happy for this change. I just wish I had known sooner so I could have at least read my favorites a few more times or found them on other sites.

But why are you removing controversial content? I just don't understand what's wrong about having it onsite for users, It had to be one of the most popular categories but what made the decision to remove it again? I'm confused, is it harming your rep or the website? How does going legit have anything to do with controversial content? Please help me understand.

It has nothing to do with whether the content is controversial it has do with the being non-licensed works the "controversial" stuff was just removed first since it was separated before so was easiest to remove. They will be removing almost everything on the site and replacing it with the things published in Wani's magazines comic x-eros and comic kairakuten. They have a backlog of their magazines already translated or being translated so although the company is moving to a pay for site it will have a lot of good uncensored content of different (even controversial) genres.

The reasoning in action here - facilitating the process of becoming a (legitimate) importer/distributor of Japanese adult content in North America (and presumably other - primarily english-speaking - regions) is understandable.

However, I am still distressed that the new Fakku is undeniably destroying the old Fakku that I know and love.

The new Fakku might be better, but it is not what I know and love, it is not what I came for (or from).

It will be legitimate, but it won't be better, and anyone who says otherwise is delusional.

So you you think it got the boot first because it was easiest? that MAY be true but the lack of official answer is troubling. still doesnt explain the tags being gone, the lack of real warning before it happened, or address the fact that some people now have no reason to come to this site for the duration of the transition since what they liked is gone.

The reason for the tags as well as the content being gone at the same time is obvious, it just means they more than likely turned the filter on regardless of settings for the whole website as a way to just mass remove them, but i do agree they probably should have said something before removing them.

That does make sense, though i still disagree with the method, but why do you have to be the one telling me this? I mean no disrespect to you but we should be getting told this by the guy in charge. I get that its not realistic to expect him to reply to every post, but that's why all this should have been in an announcement on the front page of the site telling us whats gonna happen, how its gonna happen, and when.

Fortunately I have other hobbies and don't need to rely on doujin to live and be happy, I'm gonna support this new direction any way possible. The fact that the artists are getting proper exposure and income is great, they deserve nothing less.
Now... where's the Yamatogawa stuff?

The fuck ?
You want to remove everything unlicencied and "controversial" ?

Who do you think you are ? Some kind of gods of Truth ? Since when in a free, democratic place incest between siblings and fantasm of monster girls is formaly forbidden ? Is having fantasm for nekos a satanist sin ? Ya make me sick.

This is your end, Fakku, and I quit, there's a lot lot of hentai sites out there.
I was here for the community and the good ergonomy, but no more. Your website is slow as shit anyways.

And btw, I have no money for your 20$-per-chapters shitty prices. Who do you think you are ? Some kind of drug dealers ? You're not even doing the work of scanlation.

That is all, what a pity, but looks like money destroys people like the black plague.

I really hope you know what you doing... this will divide the community in half

This is a really big step, I don't fequent forums a lot but he should've seen people's opinion on it first, because this thing isn't going well from the users part.

We're seeing that a lot. Not simply people that have a difference in opinion, but people who are wildly misinformed and haven't been following what's going on for the past year.

This is my first and hopefully not my last post, i've been on fakku for over 3 years and only recently made and account to view "controversial content". I want to wait out the storm, i don't know what you [Jacob] are planning to do with both the site and the community but you've asked us to trust you, and for the last three years, i feel like i owe you this. I'll trust that you know what you're doing and i really hope the future content will not just be vannila based and please don't make this a site that only accepts those who pay.

I can't say I'm surprised about some of the reactions regarding FAKKU continuing to go legit and removing unlicensed content. I get people are pissed about transparency and losing free content, but it really isn't like Jacob owes an explanation, or owes people an advanced warning for the removal of content people never paid for in the first place. I mean, if FAKKU's unlicensed content had all been behind a paywall, that would be a different story. At least he gave us users some advanced notice.

Anyway, I love hentai, and I really love ero manga. Like Jacob said in another forum topic, hentai is art, and to me, that's especially true for ero manga. I remember when I got the first ero manga I bought, in the mail. I opened it and looked through it. I loved the art, and I loved the obscene (in a good way) nature of the images. It was so hot. Since then, I've been a passionate fan of ero manga. I've imported so many Japanese ero manga, even though I don't understand what they're saying, because I love it that much, and it's nice to know that the artists got compensated for their work. I'm not going to lie, I've pirated stuff, but I do also buy a lot of the stuff I pirated. That said, I'm happy that now I have another, better way of getting the content I like, in physical and digital form, DRM-free, in English, uncensored and in high quality, while supporting the artists, all thanks to FAKKU.

On a related note, Wani Magazine has a crap ton of artists whose work I like. When I started getting into ero manga, I started compiling and maintaining a physical list of artists I like and what publishers they published under. Wani easily has the most number of artists I like; Other publishers don't even come close. Now that Kairakuten and X-Eros are being simulpublished, I get to read English versions of many different artists' work who I like. I've actually slowed down on importing Japanese versions of ero manga because FAKKU is now working with Wani to publish English versions. I'm so happy that I finally get to read translated, uncensored versions of Nishi Iori (I really like his work but it never seemed to get scanlated). Anyway, looking at the list of artists Jacob listed in his post, I'm a fan of 17 or so artists from that list, which is a lot, and that's not even counting the other artists that normally publish with Wani, like Kisaragi Gunma, Cuvie, henreader, to name a few. Thanks to these magazines getting translated, I'll also get to read the work of artists I've never heard of and I may even become a fan of their work too!

I know this post is big, but I must confess another reason as to why I'm looking forward to this new direction FAKKU is going in, and it has to do with supporting/compensating the artists for their work; specifically, it has to to with them having incentive to continue drawing ero manga. I'm a fan of tosh's work, who is also known as Saeki Shun, the artist of the manga Food Wars. When I learned that tosh went mainstream, and was no longer doing ero manga (at least I think that's the case), I was devastated (not “someone important to me died devastated,” but you get the point). I was like, “there goes another good artist lost to mainstream.” I respect people's decisions to do what they want with their lives, and I don't expect nor do I demand that they cater to me, but it would have been nice if tosh was still doing porn. I don't know why he went to work on non-porn manga, maybe it was for fame or maybe because it was his dream, or maybe it was because of money; I really don't know. However, if some of these hentai artists leave porn due to financial reasons, it's good to know that with my purchases my dollars will go to the artists and hopefully give them incentive to stay, instead of leave, and continue drawing hot, sexy pictures.

Let's be honest here, FAKKU and its community have been nothing more than a den of thieves until recently. This site and E-H have fostered of culture of blatantly stealing content from talented creators with no expectation of ever giving back. Now that the site is going legitimate, its time for the part of the community who want to continue stealing to leave and never return. Don't try to cater to them; they are a lost cause.

This is a bright new beginning for not only Fakku, but the hard working creators who we have been neglecting for years. Thanks to Jacob and the Fakku crew for making this possible.

First of all thank you for finally informing us of things. 2 if any of these questions have already been answered sorry its hard to find all the answers.

ok for the questions:

1. Will all content be paid subscription based or will their still be free stuff?

2. If there is free content what will the ratio of paid to free be roughly?

3. Will the forums still be free to use?

4. What level of censorship will there be?

5. When will the new content start to be uploaded?

6. Will there be some sort of trial period for this content to see if its worth paying for a subscription?

I think the reason most people are frustrated and leaving is because they just don't know what is going on. I realize even you probably don't have all the answers, but any and all information you can give us would be helpful. Thank you
