The only problem lies with wether or not those good people actually attempt to stop them.

What do you get with reputation points? I don't remember reading anything in the faq about it.

You get nothing but a number. Its as stupid as caring about post count.

Although with a forum this big its hard to keep track of who did what unlike some of the other forums without post count or rep.

Does anyone else honestly agree with me that the rep system should be removed. Its too easy to exploit and just dumb.

It's easy to exploit because Jacob didn't take any measures to prevent exploitation, probably because he had more faith in the Fakku userbanse, and thought it unnecessary.

Personally, I don't give a shit about reputation, but why should people who have earned their reputation be punished because some people decided to take advantage of it? I'm in favor of patching the system as opposed to punishing innocent users.

My main problem with this is that now I'll be pointed out as one of those(I have 40 less rep so it's pretty easy to put the pieces together after seeing this thread). I don't know whether I'll be treated with ridicule or contempt after this by most of the community. I don't even know what I could possibly say to convince Jacob that he made an improper accusation.
