Eh. Love it or hate it, I think most would agree that the reputation system shouldn't just be wiped from the slate. It was implemented with good intentions. So maybe we should offer suggestions instead of condemning and criticizing the system that administration felt would add something to the community.

For instance, the time it takes for reputation points to recharge. Perhaps it could be extended from a day, to say, a week. This would serve several purposes. One, it would make it much easier to monitor how reputation points are being used. Two, since points wouldn't be distributed as often users would hopefully put a little more thought into how they spend theirs. This in turn would put more value into the points and the system itself. Just my two cents.

What even happened? Did people spam posts on a separate account and give themselves +rep?

If that's what happened, the fail demotivational poster of someone trying to take a picture with the camera aimed at themselves comes to mind...

-some FAKKU! members were having secondary accounts to augment themselves with rep
-Jacob became so pissed that he tracked all of the IPs and banned those users
-some believe that the arbitrary banning is prejudiced and it nearly waxed Rbz and fellow others who are innocent

Dude; I'm in the negatives in reputation points and I wouldn't bother cheating to raise it. To do so shows how much of a zero you are.

You mean I could have been cheating my reputation and inflating my virtual ego this entire time!? Oh god, why god, didn't I know about this sooner! So many people that I know nothing about could have loved me and worshiped my awesomeness! I mean, how could they possibly, completely and utterly ignore a reputation number and base their assumptions on my personal character on my writing and uploads alone!? Without that huge reputation I might as well be nobody!

Yeah so I logged on earlier today and read the first post and had a hey to bad for them moment. I saw I had a new message and then was like oh no it's from Jacob apparently at first I was some user named "zerozerofour". After I proved that I couldn't be that user (as the account was created before I got here) I pm'd Jacob so he would fix the mistake. Then he came back that it was just the wrong user apparently now I was



Yeah same guy as Rbz was at first. Though this one I can't find a way to disprove so I pm'd Jacob that it was a mistake, and since I can't disprove it I was fine with the drop of rep really doesn't matter to me.

From Rbz now I know it's IP address as to how Jacob determines who had double accounts. This just keeps getting more interesting so this user had the same IP address as me? I'd love to know who it is, but I won't put to much work into it.

I'm just glad Jacob decided against banning; I would have been real upset about that.

I'm going to assume this is going to be a problem. Jacob can't really prove that it was the same person any more than an accused individual can prove that it was not them. Oh well, I guess as long as banning didn't occur then there really isn't a serious problem. Otherwise it could turn into a nasty blame game and try to figure out who is lying to Jacob and etc...

Why do I always miss the dramatic stuff a bit late?

I do hope that users who felt wrongly accused stand up for themselves and explain their cases.

As for those who criticize the rep system - there's no point in criticizing something that has no worth, intangible or tangible except a feeling of accomplishment. To those who exploited the system, I can give a shit about your e-penis because mine and many other members are greater than yours. No point in getting banned or penalized over a number, people.

I am glad to see the list of wrongdoers was not put up. Everyone deserves a second chance and I am quite sure most of them would have learned their lesson.

Embarrassment and humiliation would only lead to users leaving the Fakku community, which is something I do not wish will happen.
