That's my biggest beef, Bulma being white is reasonable, because that's what she is in the manga/anime. However, for Goku to be played by such a person, it would be equivalent to having an asian go being cast as Aragorn for Lord of the Rings.
I'm not even going to bother watching this at all, I'll just stick to the manga's and the animes.
Hate to interrupt your bitching and all that, but Goku isn't Asian at all, he's a fucking space alien. I like how everyone seems to know the characters' ethnicities even though it's impossible to tell by looking at them because it's an anime, and there's no official statement on most of the characters' ethnicities so you're all just pulling this stupid "WAAAAAAAAH X CAST MEMBER IS THE WRONG RACE" crap out of your asses. The only ethnicities we can be certain of are that Goku and Vegeta are Saiyans, Piccolo and Kami are Namekians, and that Mister Popo is black.
It's not like it even matters what the shape of Goku's actors' eyes are, it just gives you an excuse to yell "IT'S GOING TO SUCK!", and if I wanted to gather together a whole bunch of people just for them all to line up and yell "IT'S GOING TO SUCK" against all sensible reasoning, I'd go to a shitty forum like IMDB or Gaia Online. I expected better than a stupid fanboy BAWWWWWWWWWWfest from FAKKU. This is why I hate internet forums, and I hoped a community-oriented site like this would be an exception; sadly, it seems that adult content does not mean adult readers, and that it takes a lot more than a metric buttload of 18+ pictures to get rid of the teenagers.
Actually, I'll bet the hentai is actually attracting MORE teens than one would expect for a forum of this size. Heh.

this is the real deal. there will be a new dbz movie coming out using real people. i heard about it original from a friend last winter. just let in you know even if u already read in forum from some1 else.

i dont know about one in japan but i do know about the dragon ball movie in the us it will be coming out in 2009 and will more that likely saluter the anime here is a link that has the info on it for those that would like to check it out

as far as dragonball Im curious to see what Spike from buffy the vampire looks like as King picollo.
It ranked #3, and only because it released on the same weekend as Iron Man. And I don't consider critics' ratings to be reliable ratings for nostalgia movies.

While its common for characters to share characteristics of the region from which they are spawned, I don't think such a detail is worth this much ranting. To poke a couple holes in you're argument, Goku is an alien and regardless of the customs he has adopted and the setting of his surroundings, the race he resembles can't be clearly defined. Its also fairly obvious that the world of Dragonball is quite different from our own.
His clothes, house, food, and his use of chopsticks speak little about race. He was raised Japanese, or the Dragonball world's equivalent to Japanese. As for the symbols on Goku's gi, those are the kanji of the masters he studied under. Its a way to identify the individual wearing it as a particular master's student. Even a non-Japanese person could bear the kanji of a Japanese master. People all over the world live in houses built using styles more commonly found in other countries. I eat food from a lot of cultures that aren't my own and I can eat with chopsticks. I'm an American, with deep routes in western Europe.
