it's real. it has been in development since 2002. lol late info is late.I think I heard rumors about a DB live action movie a few (like, 6 or 7)years ago , as well.
But they sure take their time developing this movie... 6 years already (if what you say is true)? Seems like an awfully long time, even for a high class production.
BTW, I really like Chatwins hair. He almost looks like a friend of mine, who wears his hair in a similar style :D

stfu, he'll get to it when he can; this is not his job, douche.
jesus, you think i think its his job? um...NO, and there was supposed to be a heavy sense of sarcasm but i guess no one really caught that. sorry, just wanted to see what people would say.
sarcasm is lost when you post on the internet...
just don't post things like you're ungrateful; it makes the doucheness of people shine out and force some to react.

They haven't actually been developing it all this time. I believe it was only confirmed early last year (or late 2006) that this movie was indeed going to happen. It's been in the planning since 2002 or so, but it never really got picked up and started until the aforementioned time period. I believe that this was when the Shaolin Soccer director was put on the project to direct it.

What a flamefest. No kidding. Why are people arguing about this?
It's because no one is reading each other's posts.

i really appreciate that this guy takes time out of his day to post the things we have grown to love about this site. i should have realized that my sarcasm would be destroyed once i posted, but i guess we all screw up every now and then. for future reference, i was not intending to be an ass-hole.

-snip-Considering Akira Toriyama made him with distinct Asian Characteristics, and has even stated that his looks would be that of an Asian makes your whole argument completely mute.
Maybe people did not read it, but a few years back, Akira Toriyama would not allow a DBZ movie to be made, because he wanted an Asian Actor to portray Goku, meaning that the race on Earth that would be most distinct to Goku's Saiyan race would be that of an Asian.
Just look at Yamcha, he's supposed to be of asian background as well, and he's actually portrayed right. His looks and features are not far off from Goku manga wise either.
Case and point, we do know that Goku's closest look would be that of an asian. There shouldn't even be any argument here, considering the creator himself has specifically stated this, all of what Goku wears, eats, the way he lives, and even prayed when he was young only cements this notion, along with the creator's own words.
However, the whole notion of "he's a space alien" so we don't know is the biggest load of garbage I've ever heard.
It's as I said before, no different then Superman from outerspace, or Union from outerspace. There all not from Earth, yet we all know that the nationality that resembles them are caucasian.
Much like Goku, and this is the #1 reason why it will fail. However, the notion of this is "Why do they have a Caucasian playing Goku?" The makers of the movie believe that it will "appeal" to the western audience more.
However, that has never helped, having Goku being played by a caucasian is like what they did when they made Genghis Khan back in the 60's, with John Wayne as Genghis Khan. Other characters on the other hand look pretty decent, as to why CYF as Roshi doesn't have his hair shaved makes no sense.

There's a musical? On topic, I think DBZ is going to be stupid. I loved the show a lot but really? Really? I can't think of anything else to say about the movie...

Or super sayjian...if thats even spelled right. We'll have to wait for the third movie because apparently that's when they go to Namek and fight Frieza. I'm interested to see who they're gonna cast for Frieza and how they're going to recreate Namek.

I agree to the people with less than 20 posts or so commenting, but ironically, thats what I am(made this just to comment on this). It looks like it'll play off the fact that Goku is older than he appeared in the show, but instead making him look his age. Good news-this movie wasn't just recently started and finished or anything,it's been in pre-production for a looooong time, hopefully allowing the creators to prevent it from sucking as bad, or even allowing it to be decent. Hell, if they get the fighting right, I'll be happy enough to like it.

We most likely will see this as an epic fail.
In the end, it's all there for the money, movies that might have "bombed" here in the USA still reel in enough profits for some other smaller countries where a success there still doesn't make as much money here.

::see that's a joke, i have to explain the joke because no one reads any other posts in this thread. it's a joke poking fun of those who don't read, so now those who won't read this will answer the original question above without reading this... and now my head hurts. so, needless to say I'm done with this thread. I'll return to the original thread in entertainment if I wish to comment further of a DB movie... btw, did you know it's coming out in 2009 and it is real?!?! ALSO, The Jesus, love your findings that one post.... very epic::
