Actually, I would agree with Pony.

A thread would be a type of blog by that definition provided. That is, while it usually mantained by an individual, it does not have to be.

A blog is primarily about a particular subject with the participants in said blog providing material, links, and so on for that particular subject and providing discussion for it.

Which is what a thread is. It's just a type of blog that involves multiple users going off of a discussion topic the op provides.

Going by that, a thread would be a particular type of blog, and a forum would be a collection of blogs sorted by topic.

None of this negates the fact that the OP didn't make any sense.

Just because what we commonly see as a blog doesn't mean it is the only thing that falls under a particular definition.

It is much like Irony. What you typically see as irony is situation where the opposite happens than what is expected. Though sarcasm as well fits under the definition of irony and is indeed called verbal irony because of it.
