Ara ara, there's a more appropriate title than "Old man that talks too much?" Hahaha. Anyway, how are you Val-chan? It's been quite a while, I see you're still the man I knew a few months ago...or is it a year ago? Bah, time's importance reduces when you get old enough. How about "talkative sage" or "old seadog" :P
You called?
Really late bud.

VALERIY: In any case, I refuse to allow Kei to think that he is being forgotten. I will make it my personal duty to continually post on this thread in the duration of which he is gone.

I've been in this thread before, back when this was in siberia.
Though I was pretty much busy back then, so I applied for a part time position.

VALERIY: All aboard flight Romeo-Delta. Kei has now left for his flight to Egypt, we won't be seeing him until in three months when his rotation is over. I just hope he'll be alright when he comes back.

^Mmm okay.
Well best wishes then.

VALERIY: Indeed.
Anyway, I'd like to discuss about the US Navy's little project, the X-47B UCAS. Personally, I find the idea of unmanned aerial vehicles interesting. It's always been my view that pilots had the most life threatening role in military since one mistake could turn them into a fiery ball of death whereas soldiers are able to get away with a shot or two(depending on where you're hit ofc).
EDIT: I should and am glad that the latest addition to this section the "roleplay :D" thread did not come a week earlier because I have no idea what sort of wrath Kei would bring about by just looking in there. Senseless rabble.

It seems that there is still the sound of people here, but not that much that I remembered. Oh my, that was a long time ago, when we all were still running around and being happy. Kei, Val, Lance, Azelle, Ceres, Azusu, CHT. *Sigh* when did the days go by.
*Sits somewhere and drinks some sumisake*
*Edit* I've seen the thread Val said. That made this old man laugh.

VALERIY: Indeed, Anzei, there was once a time this place was so much more livelier with more people around as well. Good times but as a wise man once said, "All good things must come to an end" and unfortunately it has.
It is sad to say that quite the few are set in a state of despair, myself included.
*sighs*
Times like this, I wish I had never given away my last of smokes.

I miss those days too. Actually I remembered how I met Keirova just a few days ago and I found Anzei's first post in this thread last month. We must cherish those memories because that also made us who we are today. :)
State of Despair? Are you guys having suicidal thoughts? I hope not. O.O
As far as X-47B UCAS goes I think it's really smexy machine.

Seems like unmanned aerial machines are the new Air Force fad. They certainly aren't cheap now, but at least they are more replaceable than human pilots.

VALERIY: Heavens no, I'll dread the day when I get so low that I will want to kill myself. No, atm I would say I'm at the level where I would actually want to start smoking again. (Yes, I did smoke, I quit two years ago following Kei's example).
Indeed with the X-47B. But at the same time, it's sort of sad for me. With all the development going into this project, I feel the DoD is neglecting other projects like the F-35II JSF.

Well that's fair enough.
All sorts of interesting projects gets scraped like RAH-66. That chopper was freaking awesome. Let's hope we won't be telling that bout one of those anytime soon.

VALERIY: Ah yeah, the Comanche, the stealth Reconnaissance chopper. Was a real shame that got scrapped, it seemed like it would've been a good replacement for their Apaches.
But CHT raises a good point, unmanned vehicles have been all the rage for militaries lately and for good reason. But that gives me more worry that the F35-II is gonna be scrapped like the RAH-66.
On another note, let's discuss unique(and I guess exotic) weaponry. First one I'd like to talk about was this distinctive piece, the GSh-18. The name was designated after its makers; Gryazev and Shipunov, whilst the number represented magazine capacity. You only have to look at the pistol to see that it is quite an exotic piece with distinct design, can't really think of any well-known pistol(or any pistol at all) that bear any semblance to it.
Performance wise, it's apparently capable of penetrating all known bullet proof vests, including military grade and with its special AP rounds(7N31), punctures 8mm of steel. What I find interesting about it is that the thing only has 17 parts which would make it a very simple weapon to assemble and disassemble as well as manufacture, I have no idea why I have not heard anything about it recently or seen any of the Russian military carrying this. I imagine it's something of a spec-ops pistol though.

It's for Law enforcement from what I understood.
Well finally I got a letter from police saying that on Monday I should get my ass over to them for my licence.

VALERIY: Well, law enforcement seems like an interesting choice for this pistol. I don't know why Russian police would need a pistol capable of piercing body armor for, I would've imagined that was more suited for military.
Also, good to hear about the license. Hopefully, you'll find yourself a nice pistol by the as well.

I'll see about that. My instructor told me that when I get my licence (and some cash) I should contact him so he would make sure I won't buy a piece of crap. :)

VALERIY: Alright then well like I said before; a first pistol is much like a first car, not the one you want but one that can break you in.
Well, continuing on our topic of exotic and unique weaponry, how about a more well known piece. The XM-25 Counter-Defilade Engagement System, a fine airburst grenade launcher that loads 25mm Grenade. Obviously smaller than the standard 40mm, what this system lacks in firepower, it makes up for with innovation.
I find this system amazing with how it's able to set the distance where it explodes, definitely worthy of its designation 'Counter-Defilade' but it's such a great shame. The XM-25 was scheduled for full production this year but unfortunately, the Pentagon decided to remove all funding for it like so many other wonderful projects. I hope in the future, somebody will revive this or what the heck, maybe China could be secretly continuing it. After all, who knows what kind of stuff they got from that whole known espionage incident and any that wasn't known before then.

So less known and exotics?
As far as exotics goes I think Kriss Vector is really interesting SMG to look at. Not only because of it's shape but also because of it's patented KRISS Super V System action. The pistol variant looks like something from a Sci-Fi (I'm looking at you Mass Effect) nevertheless it's really interesting thingy.
Less known... How about H&K HK21. A general purpose machine-gun based of G3 battle rifle.
Variants:
HK21, HK21A1, HK11A1, HK21E, HK11E: 7.62x51mm NATO
HK23E, HK13E: 5.56x45mm NATO
HK25: 12.7x99mm NATO (never went to production :( )
