I just discovered human benchmark websites that let you measure your reaction time to visual and audio inputs. I'm wondering if these are relevant to touhou where quickly seeing (and sometimes hearing) all the necessary bullets can make all the difference. I've played with it for a while and found some interesting things.

Spoiler:
The audio test link doesn't seem to work for me, but I got an average of 239 ms for the visual one.
If you haven't tried them yet, the Vsync patches are said to reduce input delay on the games. I tried it on MoF (mainly to fix Marize's laser bug) and it really does make a difference.

If that's the case, I might as well taking what I have left to clarinet and be annoyed at my moronic neighbors on daily basis.

There's also this game Jen linked me, Touhou Daiundousai (Meddlesome Magician 2).
It's a party game for 4 players. You make a team composed of 5 characters, and the goal is to score the most points by the end of the match. A match is composed of three modes- a foot race, a orb hitting race, and an all out battle royale.
It's a bit confusing at first, but the wiki page explains everything well.

It seems everyone is mortal here, or at least acting mortal.

I've tried it too. It does make input faster, or at least make you think it does.
Jen, is that the party game you were talking about?

Jen, is that the party game you were talking about?Yes, we all should try and see if the built-in netplay works without further modifications or assistance from third-party network applications. It might be fun to play this together, probably maybe possibly.

Pfft... I tried it, and got last in everything... no matter what I did, or who I choose too.

Yeah, the AI in this game shows no mercy. I imagine things would be different in multiplayer.
The foot race and the orb (phantom?) hitting race is just a matter of practice, I guess. For the battle part, using your characters' special abilities helps a lot. The inputs for them as well as each character's stats are listed in the wiki.
Also, the battle phase seems to give the most points; doing good in this phase can net you a win even if you didn't do too good on the previous phases.

I suppose it would be amusingly fun to see a match featuring incompetent people (us) racing like our lives depend on it. That being said, Fuwaruu has to tone down his skills because he has dominated the A.I before.

Shinobu is a good girlYou! How dare you! I can't stop listening to it now... for nearly three weeks in a row that's been stuck in my head. Why? Why is it stuck in my head? Is it because of the little rhythm in the background? Sure, that may be a part of it. Is it because it's catchy? Absolutely... not. Is it because it's a song made in sync with Shinobu's words? Possibly. Is it because of Shinobu's laugh. YES! Hit the nail on the head. I can't stop listening to it because of her two laughs during loop that keeps replaying. I am now enthralled by her laughter. Awkward, if I do say so myself, but it feels so amazing when I hear her laugh.

Stop clearing these bosses like they're nothing! It makes me feel weak and pathetic in terms of Touhou... kinda discouraging...

I have a lot of free time too... but I usually just dawdle the time away.
Also... took me about 15 minutes to vote for the characters. Flan-chan as #1, followed by Chen, Seija, Momiji, and then Orin.

(1) Marisa, (2) Satori, (3) Kaguya, (4) Youmu, (5) Eirin.
My top 5 have been shifting around lately. I blame the Eientei residents.
