Friday: "I haven't played UFO since last Saturday. What am I doing wrong? Oh look another manga to read"
Projected Saturday: "Is the Kate show on yet? No, back to homework."

Things start out with a pair of fairies. Destroy them as they appear to make your life easier. If you kill the fairy before it shoots pink bullets it shoots blue orbs instead but the orbs are fast so they leave the screen without being too much of a factor. One of the pink fairies will drop a UFO, grab it.


These orb things will appear on the right side of the screen first. One of the first ones drops a UFO and during this part and you can very quickly get a big UFO to get a bonus/life piece/bomb piece if you time your UFO collections right. I like playing this part unfocused because the extra speed makes it easier to grab UFO's as needed. The blue bullets appear to be random and widely spaced which sounds like an invitation for item grabbing, but the bullets are just dense enough that it will catch you if you are sleeping. Try to move around a bit and utilize the whole screen in this part.


These big fairies drop UFO's every so often but they also spawn familiars. The familiars float down the screen then stop and fire the clusters of pink bullets. The first time you get here the screen is almost empty in the center, making for a great opportunity to get a big UFO and skip this part of the stage almost entirely. The pink bullets are slow moving clusters with big gaps between them and where the familiars stop on the screen is reminiscent of Miracle of Otensui from MoF. I play this part unfocused because it makes it easier to take advantage of the slow cluster bullets. The cluster bullets are not aimed at anything so dodge them and carry on to battle the sphere of Nue. Try to get a pair of UFO's during or after this part and save them for Part 3.

Now the fun part begins.

Things start off the same way as earlier with some small fairies. Both of them with drop if a UFO if you destroy them so pick one and dispose of it. From here onwards make and use big UFO's as often as you can. There are some parts where its easier to use the big UFO which I will point out.


After cleaning up a few fairies, the blue bullet shooting orbs will appear from the left side of the screen and alternate. They shoot blue circles and green arrows at you and (for whatever reason) off the top of the screen. Dispose of these as quickly as possible to keep the bullets from building up. They appear at a constant frequency from the sides of the screen so keep up with them and they won't cause a problem. I play this part unfocused to keep up with the incoming orb enemies which makes the bullets less dense. Use a big UFO here if you like but keep in mind that staying still to destroy the big UFO may get you hit as the blue and green bullets build up quickly if left unattended.


Coming from both sides of the screen are red orb enemies that shoot blue bullet clusters at you. This is perfect for streaming and if you are behind on power its a golden opportunity to grab some. I like to focused stream the bullets and enable the big UFO to get all the collectibles. The blue bullet clusters move slowly, so when I start to either run out of space or move too far from the big UFO, charging up the screen a bit will break the streaming pattern and leaves plenty of room to continue streaming. Without the big UFO to clear the screen for you, you may have to break the streaming yourself which isn't too difficult (SA stage 4 through 6 have so much streaming this should be joke if you can do that).


Next is more random blue bullets. This time they are significantly more dense. As if tempting you there are also more UFO's and collectibles to grab here and one big UFO's makes this part so short it becomes trivial. I play this part unfocused to grab UFO's when I can and because I really enjoy the feeling of moving quickly through a relatively dense field like this. Since the bullets are random, there isn't much you can do except reading and dodging.


The final part of the main stage. The large fairies return with more dense bullet patterns. The bullets are still spawned by familiars while the fairies hold UFO's. Collect and use UFO's as needed here, the stage boss is next so you won't need UFO's again until stage 5. The packs of 3 pink bullets here are the same speed as before, there's just more of them. I play this part unfocused because every so often I'll put myself in a hole that only unfocused speed can get out of. Recently I've found that the sides of the screen are just as easy if not easier to play on than the bottom for this part. This comes at the cost of not getting as many collectibles.

If only I really can put that in my resume.
