TD stage 6 kinda did that, with Miko, Futo and Tojiko's "speech" bubbles; but I guess that doesn't count.

I get what you're saying, though. Characters talking to each other in the middle of danmaku battle- as long as the dialogue doesn't intrude on the game screen, it could be nice.

You hinted upon the touhou's having VA's there. If you were doing casting for a touhou anime, which characters get which VA's and why? [size=3]inb4 HanaKana as everyone[/h]

I don't have my VA names down, can't be of much help here. Jen, on the other hand, would be a good guy to ask this- we had a discussion like this before.



Yeah. People say Hanazawa's an overrated moe VA, but she actually has some range and does good on many roles.
It's just that she's perfect she voices cute characters best.

But I no watch animoe or play non-eroge japanese games enough to contribute in this kind of discussion.

I'd like to point out I know very little about VA's and just went with characters that have voices that could fit touhou's.

Huh, I thought that one fit the best. Don't you think her rough-ish voice would fit Orin's way of speaking?

Its not that it doesnt fit. I just pictured Orin as a mischievous cat and have envisioned her with that style of voice. Something like Black Hanekawa with a refined-cat speech pattern. That means no "nya~" everywhere. If you have played Wanko to Kurasou, Kuu (black cat) is who I'm thinking of.

This is interesting to me specifically because the VA did Saki from ShinSekai. The older woman who taught Saki how to make herself pseudo-immortal has a voice that feels more "immortal with power you cannot even imagine".

For the Great BiBiko to agree with me, this is surely one of the highlights for this year. How come you and Fuwaruu don't know enough about Saitou Chiwa?



The babaa? After some backtracking, I found out the VA's name and double-checked the characters she has ever voiced. Short story short, I am not familiar with almost all of her roles, save for the Mom from Digimon. Only one character, two if you count Asahina Tomiko, for reference is not good enough for comfort.

I've never looked too closely at VA's. The ones I know off-hand (Tsun-Rie's, Eri Kitamura, HanaKana) are ones that I've encountered in some other form.

It was Tomiko and not the VA that had the Yukari-like feeling then. When picking VA's its important to separate the voice from the character too.

I'm currently going through a 'read Touhou fanfiction' phase. I've always stuck to canon and (widespread) fanon material but it's extremely interesting what other people have figured out for themselves to add to the world. I'm mostly skimming through stuff to see what catches my attention... do you have any suggestions?

How is the test scored? Knowing you anything other than what you would say will be regarded as mortally incorrect.

I've always regarded Alice as one of the "normal" characters. "Normal" meaning that her character isn't targeting an obvious trope (tsundere, childhood friend, ojousama, etc). Given that she has a western name and appearance, lives in relative isolation, and refuses to accept her weaknesses I think she would sound like Miura Azusa (IdolMaster) aka: Takahashi Chiaki.
