Saying this for general, I believe most boys are scared of talking to pretty women, because they expect a rejection. In truth though, those women don´t get talked much, because under the assumption that she may have already a boyfriend or she will reject you anyway or other various reasons.

You shouldn´t be scared, shy or nervous, I believe it´s easier said than done, but what is the worst you can get? A rejection.
I dunno how tough a rejection is to you, to me it is for the moment a small disappointment, but then I just forget it and I say to myself "At least I spoke my mind and I am free from those thoughts". However, I didn´t ask for dates as many times as I got asked.

Oh, there are women which are blunt and judgemental, but that goes for both genders I would say.

Everyone thinks that if a girl wants something romantic, they think it must be always something super special and unique with a lot of effort. In truth though, well at least for me, it´s mostly the small things in life that make it romantic.


Wow. You hit the nails right on their heads with me. Good point, I should of thought of that from a different angle.

I can't really take rejection too well, never have. But when I get reject more and more than tolerance to rejection will increase. And I don't how my first date will go over well,

"Anime, Fighting Games and Hockey."

The anime and/or fighting game part may be a turn off to most women, at least I think so but I haven't been on a date to know if it is or not.

Hmm...I guess but it's a personal preference thing. Different for each woman.

@Circe: I'm sorry Circe. I didn't see your post until now. I wasn't ignoring it. Looking at the world around me, I get kinda uncomfortable in my own skin like I feel like being myself I would make me look like a werido but I gotta stay strong.

If she can´t accept your likes, then she doesn´t fits to you. She should accept you for who you are and vice versa.

Well, why is it hard? Girls are here too after all, so not only boys like anime's, hentai etc.

think of it like this. a lot of anime fans will proudly wear the name "otaku", right? however, a guy liking anime or games isn't the problem. it's when they become that guy's life, and he cannot move forward.

a guy who only enjoys anime and games will be considered childish, irresponsible, and that he will get nowhere in life.

you simply need to prove these assumptions wrong. these things are your likes, your hobbies, and that they won't prevent you from pursuing a stable career, home, et cetera.

@Circe and Kirsikka: Ugh...excuse me for not acting so confident. I have a tendency to ignore what's right in front of me. Since I haven't seen anyone around me who likes anime or fighting games so I just write off from my mind that finding someone like that near me is impossible or at least very hard.

@Menolly: That's a good point. Even though, I watch anime, hentai, and play fighting games. I'm still somewhat responsible. Actually it's quite the opposite for me. Playing Fighting Games actually makes a bit better person. It's only I feel fully confident in myself totally. People tell me that I should bring out the person who plays Fighting games when doing everything else and it works to some degree.

[size=12]exactly. c: there's a lot more to you as a guy who likes "anime, fighting games, and hockey" and you should try and make that apparent. all of you, not just parts of you! like circe said, being yourself is key. people can, and will be, judgmental. and because humans are such flighty, fickle creatures, you don't want to turn them off from everything wonderful about you simply because they don't enjoy the same hobbies.

it can be rough.
