Well, in my case there's exactly one other girl I might choose should I lose some of my current waifus. Two, if one other should become free through some miracle. (Not naming any names, just in case) I've pretty much given up on two of my absolute favorite characters - Shana and Shirley - they've been other members' waifus for most of the game so it just doesn't feel right to pick them anymore.
And something else I probably should have realized sooner, although whether it would have affected anything doesn't matter at this point anymore. It's been pointed out a few times that there is this minority of us who really care for their waifus. But there's been no real description for the majority. I think I've understood them now, though. It seems to me that most of the players here are just hunting for the most popular girls or those who seem the hottest to them at the moment. No emotions attached, no real thought about it. Just pick someone, then divorce/reset-drop them and pick someone new once they notice someone new. Without almost any feelings towards them, it's easy to say that we should give up on all or most of our waifus so they could get a chance as well, despite there being so many other girls around. On the other hand, we, the "loving" minority, take our time to choose only the girls we really would want to spend our lives with, would it be actually possible. Of course they can sometimes be the popular ones as well, but unlike for the majority, for us their popularity is not the important part. Yet since we have picked many of the popular girls too and would not just get bored and divorce them, there is the pressure from the others to give them up now.
[size=2]And yes, I know, I have my own interests in this as well, having somehow managed to keep five absolute top class waifus through the two games.[/h]
(None of this should be taken as a call for reclaiming five waifus again. I know when to give up and I have never wanted to pick a fight with you, even though sometimes I still somehow manage to do this. You can see this as a point for allowing three, though. :P)
