Canada is an even worse choice, Project-H has their printer in Canada, which is why they're so strict about not having loli material, or at least very hesitant to. Lolicon is illegal by all definitions there and it would cause a lot of issues doing more controversial work through a Canadian printer.

Ah that explains their censoring then. Though I hope they don't pick up any more titles that have things needing to be censored, because it keeps other places from getting them then.

Mike spent a lot of time back and forth with various printers locally. We agree it'd be nice to have a good printer locally so it'd be faster, however every printer in the state on where they're located ended up declining to work with us. They were too concerned about being associated with adult material and would conflict with some of their other clients. It's unfortunate but there's not really anything we can do about it, if anything it's their loss on money.

That really sucks :/
I would suggest to find one in Canada like Icarus did, but I remembered this one time when their shipment had to be sent back to the printer for some reason and once at Customs, they might've had a bit of an issue for some characters being loli/shots. :x
Don't know all the details but I hear Canada is a bit on the puritan side when it comes to Hentai.

Well that sucks, though I do understand the potential controversy around loli. I just hope that Fakku and its printer gets better at putting the books out. Renai Sample turned out great and it'd be neat to see the next ones meet the same level of quality without the baggage of working overseas. But that's probably just wishful thinking when it comes to things beyond our control or borders.

If we stick with the same printer there shouldn't be any serious snags in the future. We now know an approx time frame it takes to deal with overseas and we know how to properly prepare the colored jackets in the same fashion that Wani does now. It's just a matter of rinse and repeat at this point.

And that approximate time is usually....?

Typically it takes 2 - 3 months from when a book is complete till we have the paperback edition in our offices. In most cases we release the digital edition as soon as the book is complete and immediately send it off for printing. A good rule of thumb going forward will be to expect the paperback to start shipping 3 months after the digital edition is made available online.

2-3 months sounds like quite a while. I don't suppose you guys have extra copies in case there are orders made after the books are sent overseas?

There are a lot of things to tweak and discuss whenever we send a new book to the printer. For instance, we get a rough early version to look through so we can fix things like words being cut off in print and so on. Once all that is sorted, I don't think it would take quite as long to just ask for a second batch of copies.

The store says it will ship in march. I imagine if that date needs to be pushed back further than the end of march, jacob, or someone will probably make an update on the situation similar to Renai Sample. I really wish that they could find a place that would print the stuff in their state. Correct my if i'm wrong but didn't fakku try to find a place in Oregon to print it but nobody would do take it on due to the image impact it might have on the company? I heard it was because of adult material, but i am skeptical thats the only reason. There are plenty of places that print "normal" porn in the US

Not just that. FAKKU! isn't afraid to produce loli material. America will annihilate anything that has to do with child pornography. You can argue all you want that loli isn't child porn. You won't succeed. Therefore associating with FAKKU! is a risky idea for American businesses.

Yup hell you could say that'd be like raping a picture and the judge would say something to completely blow your statement away even if it was a lie.

I hope in the future Fakku does not get anymore delays.

Realistically; I really doubt that. In businesses such as these, I can actually imagine a lot of delays here and there. Estimated dates are but estimates, after all.

And you must consider their printers are across the ocean in japan, and with the quality we are getting just be happy.

Now that we are on March. Are we getting a picture thread when you guys receive PuniKano books? Just like you guys did with Renai Sample.
