Yeah I watched Japan vs Spain yesterday.

I thought the Spanish defence was a little shaky, even if they were a man down. Japan could have scored at least 2 more goals to make it 3-0.

That one Japanese player played a square ball in the penalty box to his teammate in the 2nd half, I can't believe he scuffed the shot wide at point blank range, ala Torres' infamous EPL miss last season.

Even Andy Carroll could have scored it with either foot and not his head.

Props to JPN, both the men's and women's team won their first games.

UAE also played a slick passing game against Uruguay, I was surprised by their very creative players.

Editable list on the OP would certainly be a good idea.

Try the men football competition in Olympic Games,Spain have been knocked out after being defeated 1-0 by Honduras,shouldn't miss the third round of group stages.Maybe both of Japan and Korean will meet each other in semi-final,if they won't have to face with Brazil and UK in quarters

[b]The football at the Olympic Games have actually been pretty good so far. There's only been one scoreless draw so far in the tournament (my Mexicans against the Koreans), and every other game has been at the very least mildly entertaining. The biggest shock so far, as you mentioned, is that Spain were swept aside with ease by Japan and Honduras. And if they don't score against Morocco, they'll be the only team to leave the Olympics without a single goal to their tally.

On another note, my Pumas are playing Celaya in the Copa MX right now. So glad they brought the tournament back, I missed having a domestic cup tournament in Mexico. I've been a little disappointed with UNAM's transfers so far for the start of the season, though. We got the Argentine Tito Villa and the Spaniard Luis Garcia, but neither have really had a major impact thus far. I mean, we've only played two games in the season so far, but still. Villa had a good debut in the preseason, but he's had a disappearing act since the start of the season.

I don't know how many of you follow Mexican soccer, but just thought I'd throw that out there for those who care.

Ha,even Olympic Britain sucks at penalties shoot-out.Actually they was lucky in first half when Ramsey slip the first one went in somehow.Great match of SK and they deserve go on to the semi and seem like losing on penalties is becoming a new tradition of British.

Can't really fault the British team, every SK penalty was excellent. Sturridge fucked up, simple as. Hardly a new trend either. SK played better though and could have taken the lead a few times in the first 90. Well deserved.

They need to be more serious
I remember that pirlo - when they asked him why did he scored the penalty in the way he did - that he did it because he found the goalkeeper ( hart ) bouncing around , so he knew that Hart was afraid
