At what age were you introduced to anime?
At what age were you introduced to anime?
I was probably seven or eight when I started watching Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon, but I started to like 'manga' when I was 11, when I discovered Hellsing
Mine were The Mysterious Cities of Gold and Belle and Sebastian. Voltron and Cardcaptors followed later in life then I jumped into the deep end of the anime pool.
I've been watching some type of anime since the mid 90's watching Big O, Rurouni Kenshin, Gundam, Digimon, Dragonball, and many that I can't remember anymore ^.^; I started watching more anime later on like Ao No Exorcist, Souleater, D. Gray-Man, and Mushi-Shi. If it wasn't for staying up late watching Toonami I wouldn't have gotten into anime.
From what I can remember, started watching sometime around 3 or 4. I know I absolutely loved Sailor Moon back then.
Aw yea! Age 5-6 watching Card Captors on WB!
As as far as I can remember, 4-5.
Yellow subbed Patlabor and Slayers I believe.
As well as Dragon Ball.
AROUND 5 WITH POKEMON AND DRAGON BALL AFTER THAT DIFFERENT MORE BUTI DIDNT KNOW EXACTLY WHAT WAS "ANIME" UNTIL 11 OR AROUND THAT AFTER THAT I CONTINUE TO WATCH EVERYTHING IM NOW REACHING MY 200TH ANIME h not included
I was about six or seven when I started simple with Gundam Wing, a few movies like Macross II, Vampire Hunter D, even the original Guyver anime, Sailor Moon and of course Power Rangers (its not a cartoon but I'll be damned if I didn't love it).
Since then I've loved tons and tons of Japanese stuff, a lot of the Sengoku era stuff even interested me enough to look up the real history of the country which is quite fascinating but a little on the stiff side, what can I say? Japan's a tough culture at it's core.
I wish I could say their porn was as interesting as the anime. But there is way less acting (god-knows too much rape) involved in most of them, leading up to the sexy scenes takes too long.
around 6-10 i was browsing in a vhs rental shop and i saw them previewing yu yu hakusho in japanese so i got interested since i was half japanese and i rented it i got hooked really quikcly though that lead to intense bullying since everyone called me a geek then i got into more action type anime like dbz, inuyasha, etc. well that got me a little bit of bloodlust and then all hell froze over as i sent most of my enemies into the hospital using a baseball bat i got for my birthday and i was in counseling for two years. right now i'm working living my dream of working in japan
watching DBZ since I was 2
I was about three or four, watching Speed Racer with my Dad, my family's Speed Racer fanatic. It's so hard to believe that was eighteen years ago! Time flies~
I never got into anime till I got into the internet when I was 10 or so. Of course that's when DBZ was huge. :P
My dad, it started mostly with a lot of Miyazaki classics when I was 6-10. I remember we always watched Miyazaki movies whenever they came out. And we still do. By the way, Arrietty was a great movie. After that it was Pokemon, Dragonball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Hamtaro, and a little bit of Sailor Moon (yes I watched it because it was on before dragon ball).
When i was like 6-8 i watched a lot of anime's but at the time i did not know it was like pokemon. The first anime that really got my attention was yu yu hakusho and Tenchi muyo on toonami.
The first anime I watched as a kid as Macross, Robotech for the US, then it was Sailor Moon and Samurai Pizza Cat and then Tenchi Muyo and everything else and I have not stopped watching anime since.
I was introduced to anime front he very start of my life, and it was proper anime like studio ghibili an other such like things, also at the age of about 7 I saw my first hentai, wich I found hidden away in my brothers room........watched it again recently.....and again......and again
I first saw anime when I was around 12 or so. First animes were Tenshi Muyo, Sailor Moon and the other ones on Toonami. My first Japanese subbed animes were Ruroni Kenshin and Fruits Basket.
I was around 5-ish, had Slayer on VHS around 1998. After that I'll admit i did end up watching Toonami.
As a child Dragon Ball and Pokemon were my life! few years later during my teenage-hood I started watching everything else, and now at 21 I'm watching at least 2 anime episodes every day ;)
I was watching pokemon in the 6th grade early in the morning before school. It was on wmlt. It was before cartoon network was 24hrs. I remember it would always cut off when the smurfs was coming on.
