Connecticut Elementary School Shooting

This ruined my day. Seriously, it's one thing for some high schooler to snap from being outcast by his classmates, but going on a fucking killing spree on kindergardeners? That is just disgusting.
Not to mention, gun laws are going to go crazy; with good reason I add.
Newtown, Connecticut (CNN) -- In one of the deadliest school shootings in U.S. history, a gunman opened fire Friday in a Connecticut elementary school, killing 26 people, 20 of them children, police said.
The suspected gunman, who was not identified by police, also was killed, apparently by his own hand.
One person was wounded.
The mass shootings occurred in one section of Sandy Hook Elementary School and spanned two classrooms, said Lt. Paul Vance of the Connecticut State Police.
How the school shooting unfolded Student: We heard lots of bangs 3rd grader describes shooting from class.
Among the dead were the school's principal and psychologist, according to a parent who was at the school when the incident happened.
Separately, another adult was found dead at a second location in Newtown, Vance said. A law enforcement source with detailed knowledge of the investigation identified that person as Nancy Lanza, the mother of the suspected shooter, who was found dead at her son's home. She was a teacher at Sandy Hook, sources said.
Police recovered three weapons from the scene: a semi-automatic .223 Bushmaster, a Glock and a Sig Sauer, a source with knowledge of the investigation said. Vance said that the medical examiner will determine the cause of death for the gunman, though he noted that police never discharged their weapons.

Thats pretty fucked up...Why kids, if anyone at all?
Would you believe... /b/?
I was browsing through 4chan as usual this morning, when I saw some threads regarding this. The intriguing part was that a lot of anons were shocked and wonder if "he who made that thread some time ago" actually went through with this "plan", rather than be shocked that something like this even happened in the first place.
Not sure if there's really any relation between these two, but I figured it's... enough to be a point of interest.

Meh, not really.
There are a lot of people on the internet whom post shit like that.
Personally, I believe theres more to it than what is known or is to be found out.
Would /b/ be used as a scapegoat? Probably.
But I'll still suspect theres emore to it.

When I heard this news in the morning, I was shocked as I only lived an hour drive away from it. It sickens me as how can such human in this world can do such a thing. The shooting in earlier this year is bad too including the shooting of the opening day for Dark Knight Rises, but not as shocking as taking the lives of children in the ages of 5 to 10.

Now we wait for it to get politicized. I wonder what will be under the media's cross hairs this time?
Image boards, violent video games, violence "glorified" in the movies/television shows or perhaps gun control?
My heart goes out to the victims and their families.

A news report on this came on when I turned on my TV this evening...and my 8-year-old nephew was in the room.
A couple of minutes later, he said to me, "I hate life." I was at a loss for words so I just turned it to Cartoon Network and left the room.

Wow. So some people started harassing the the guy's brother because people thought it was the killer's profile on Facebook. It must suck to learn your that your brother killed himself after killing your mother, and 20 or so kids by a bunch of misinformed idiots.

This is simply sad. The parents will be burying their children what, Christmas week? And the other children that witnessed the shooting. I can only imagine the nightmates they will have.
I agree. Gun laws and security wiwill be crazy for a while.but mo matter what, people will find a way to access guns. The guy had military gear, so he probably found a way to get it.
My heart, too, goes out too the victims and the families.

A terrible tragedy, but like most tragedies someone will try to make a connection with tv and video games and there will be a talk about gun control( which is common these days).

I don't want to even imagine how the parents must feel like if they already have gifts for their now deceased children under the tree.

Like it or not, but I think games have some thing to do with it.
This is sick, not long ago there is a similar case happened in my country. The killer mocked the media because he knew he could get away with the death penalty.

Games or parents lack of parenting and allowing their children to play games, which is not for their age. Instead of putting your kids infront of a tv to entertain/raise them they should try getting involved with their kid's lives. Parents should not act surprised when something bad happens when their kids stay in the house constantly playing a video game created for adults. They prefer to blame someone else rather than themselves when they knew of the rating of a game and they still bought it.

Games are under the same category like movies or TV. Decades of studies have never once proven this causes people who play or watch these to become more violent.

I won't lie, I was more pissed off than sad when I heard about this.
There was a shooting at a movie theater. A Sikh temple. A mall in Oregon. Now an elementary school? What the hell is going on?
Also news report stated that the guns he used were registered under his mother. So technically they aren't his and somehow he managed to get hold of his mother's guns (which ironically she was one of the victims).

I read the news when people on Facebook started mourning about the losses in the shooting. So I decided to look up on the news about it, and then I felt a little down.

Horrifying during what should be one of the happier times of the year for any parent or child... they'll have to ring in a new year in sorrow.
There is no media type (games/film/internet) we can directly blame that can "fix" this problem of people senselessly shooting innocent bystanders: the fact is, sick fucks with guns do sick shit. It's seriously time to start toughening up the channels of gun acquisition, safekeeping, continued ownership, and trafficking.
That said, right now, it is time to respectfully let the child survivors of this tragedy try to find some solace... I only pray the media does not tear their lives apart in the aftermath.
