Do people diss you for liking hentai?

Usually if someone finds out they have a laugh for 5 mins then get over it. That doesn't mean people do bring it up time to time either but its not really an issue for me.

im a closet otaku in it's purest form, my friends dont even know i play computer... I would explain the whole story but it would take a bit of time so basically the gist of it is that the only people that know of my secret nerd life are my immediate family and a few ex girlfriends (who i hid it from for months).

Yeah, that definitely works. It's a good thing I suppose.

I don't hide the personality because I want to have friends who accept me for who I am. And it definitely worked. All my current RL friends definitely are friends with the real me.

The only downside is I get dissed heaps for my interests. Pros and cons I suppose.

I think there's a balance...I tend not to tell people for a good while after I meet them, especially females; I'd say people are more likely to accept it if they know you fairly well and like you already. That said, there are some people I've never told or have denied it to if they've asked, at least to an extent. You tend to be able to tell when someone dislikes it to the extent that it would have a significant impact on an otherwise good relationship.

That's a smart thing to do. And what you're saying is even more important when you're facing people like your boss/potential employer/fellow employees later. Can imagine an employer firing me on the spot for saying "I LOVE HENTAI". :D

What I fap to is my business and my business alone. So, only my gf knows, and she doesn't "diss" me at all for it (quite the contrary), the stuff she draws in her little sketchbook is ten-thousand times more "alternative" than the stuff I rub one out to anyways. Besides, neither of the two of us believes in thought-crime.
Come to think of it, anyone who does believe in thought-crime and thus would "diss" me for jerking it to hentai, would make my shit-list effective immediately, forever.

So how many people are there on your shit-list now? If I did that my list would be hundreds of pages in length by now.

Personally, I choose to socialize exclusively with people who are generally open-minded enough to not make my list ^.~
And at work, where I have no choice, I'm completely faceless, apolitical, and politely devoid of any opinion about any matter whatsoever.
That has worked out very well for me so far.

I only want to socialize with those type of people. However at a High School with almost 3000 students that is very difficult. Due to my refusal to use a facade, it's obvious the "shit-list" will be filled full to the brim.

The only good side is, as I said, friends who accept me for who I am. :)

I can see where you come from with the High-School...however, I must say, that, despite the media hype to the contrary, I am continually impressed with the prudeness of today's youth. In my day and age (quoth the fogey) we had neither internet, nor hentai, nor any more porn than our dad's playboy mags, but the fantasies we (both boys 'n' gals) whispered to each other were far more out there than your average hentai. I mean, some of it was clearly guro-type shit right there. But it didn't occur to any of us to censure each other for it beyond the occasional "ew" or embarrassed laugh.
Then again, that wasn't in the U.S....

+Rep. I understand that. By the time I leave college and go try to find a job, there's no doubt that even I will need a facade, because the "prudeness" of youth cannot match the "prudeness" of an employer. One word of hentai and you're out the door.

I don't hide it at all. My sisters know I am into it and they haven't told anyone I don't think. Even if they did I wouldn't care. The most I would get is probably a lecture from my grandparents about how it is wrong etc. My parents probably wouldn't care since they give me my space. Basically only my grandparents since they are very religious and what not. I also have shirts that say hentai on them so surely they must have wondered what that word means and looked it up.

If you guys think this is bad, imagine what it's like for me when people ask "Why did you start a hentai site?" For a while I kept it hidden from my friends, not because I felt that needed to, but just because it was easier to avoid the conversation. But eventually I told them and they were all cool with it or thought it was awesome.

However when it comes to girlfriends and whatnot I almost never mention it unless I know they can handle it. I somehow kept it a secret from my ex girlfriend, who I was with for about 3 years, for 6 months or so before she found out.

Not many people know my hobbies since I'm an introvert. If I did I wouldn't let it bother me cause hentai ftw.

I've never been dissed for liking hentai, but if that ever happened, I'd dis that person for not liking it.
