I would reply saying something like whatever you find interesting continues to build in you until you become obsessed with it. And that I am one of the few people to have played and love football and watched Clannad, but then we'd be hijacking this thread.

Well before this thread gets de-railed I'll share some of my own experiences.
Have I ever been dissed for liking hentai? In short, Hell yeah. I guess Its a bit of my own fault for having a 'Hentai' folder on my desktop, but yeah, one day one of my best buds opens that up and has a holy sh- moment. I come back from the bathroom to find him laughing his ass off and pretty much not believing what he's seeing. So then the news goes around to my circle of friends and now I'm labeled as the group perv. Not that it bothers me so much, its just a tad bit annoying when they tell me not to go breaking my cock over a digital chick.

I guess its not so bad since Ive known these guys since middle school, but I'd think twice before telling people I like hentai. Thus why Id never wear a hentai shirt (in public at least).

But yeah if this is anything like what happened to me and WoW, I'll just wait till (if it ever does) get a bit more popular to be open about it. I mean not to say I'd have a PVC of Rei in the nude hanging off my laptop bag, but at least I'd be less hesitant to talk about it.

If you are confident and don't give a shit to the point you don't even aknowledge your buds dissing on hentai, then they'll leave you alone. Hell, I'd where a hentai shirt just to show em that I don't care what they think, just like they'd or someone else would where a shirt with a silhouette of a stripper.

Agreed. I think it ultimately comes down to whether or not you care what others think. You'd certainly find yourself encountering it less if you make it obvious that you don't care what they think of how you indulge yourself.

I don't usually get dissed or called out for liking hentai, but my friend tried to out me in class senior year. It was funny, because he tried to say "You like anime porn, therefore your opinion doesn't matter." The reactions were funny.I don't think any one took us seriously.

I've never been dissed for liking hentai because the few odd times that hentai came up in conversation with my friends it was always about really weird and dumb videos or pictures we came across on the internet.

They probably find me strange but I haven't had anyone come up to me and give me random crap. So in a way no.

Hmmm. I don't blatantly mention it on my public profiles, just because I keep them clean in case of future employers' inspections.

However, in real life, if directly asked "Oh do you like hentai/porn/etc?!", I will reply, "Yes, yes I do. Do you have an issue with this?".
