LOOOL! no comments (but a lot of ideas)
I usually leave tips, but they suck (never above 0.25 cents). Usually to the super market guy who carries the bags to my car, and a very few times in a few restaurants (I think I should have said almost NEVER).

I tip usually a little above what's expected.
But when I go to get my nails done or whatever, typically you pay and tip before hand so you don't have to dig in your bag and get stuff out after you're finished to screw them up - I usually tip a little heavy then. Because they're seeing how much they're getting from you right away, and if it's a lousy tip, then they probably won't take as much time with you. But if you tip good, they'll spend a longer time with you. That's how I see it anyway.

I believe tipping 15% of the total cost is common courtesy, unless the service and/or food was something to be looked down upon.

I'm one of those that do not believe on tipping at a standard rate. I'll tip only based on service. Someone goes "beyond" their line of work I'll happily give them more than what is standardly accepted, and if someone is rude and ignores me then I will do the ol' place a penny face down at the table and leave.
