[Locked] Gambler's Appeal to All Fakku Members

This link here lists the mods and whatnot, and it does seem that Gambler is the only active one.

While Gambler's appeal sounds good and I very much agree with it, it just depends on the users. I try and be fairly nice although sarcasm on the internet is hard to pull off and often gets mistaken for straight up dissing.

I too won't go on a long rant, but Random seems to be the only place where problems take place, probably due to it being close to IB, but still being supervised.

Well the welfare of a society depends entirely on its members. I hope I can see the return of "good old days of Fakku" here, for I have yet to experience it.

I beg your pardon? This thread is NOT about YOU nor anyone else for that matter. You only post on such issues when it's convenient. No one thinks highly of your opinion anyway, aside from your fellow irc chatmates, that is. I had enough of you and your antics of posing as if you're one of the great guys around here, when in actuality, you aren't. I meant no disrespect when saying this, rather it was only to point out that your post is nothing more than a self-flaunting crap. (don't flatter yourself too much) - I can even see that you're adding reps among yourselves... such a great influence indeed you are. back to the real topic.

In accordance to what a few have said, this might be considered as hopeless optimism but I DO believe that this a good first step to bring about AWARENESS to both old and new users alike. No one can deny the fact that we all did some wrong in the past or maybe even up until now (from time to time) - but that's only the nature of being human, none of us is perfect in any way. All that we can do is to keep on striving towards amendment. We just have to focus on improving ourselves first, before anything else (pointing fingers is unnecessary). We're all aware that CHANGE isn't something that can be easily attained right? This thread is NOT really suggesting anything drastic but rather hoping for a mere consideration (in each one's judgment) and improvement out of every single member of this community. In the end, as I've said in my previous post, everything solely depends on Us. Although it's highly unlikely to have much of an effect, it's definitely worth giving a shot. Gambler's dream can be made into reality if only we can all work together on achieving that desired goal. (IOU Gambler) :lol:

As one of the few concerned noobs around here, I also do agree with Waar to an extent that we need more enforcing and implementing than mere optimism and reminders. Someone really needs to start taking action in enforcing rules and implementing penalties, to prevent further issues from arising. I'd say most users are taking the forums for granted and are taking everything too lightly, which is far worse than users like me whom you might say - are taking things too seriously when the truth is, we're just concerned about the well-being of the whole community.

I believe this is true, even for me.
I don't know of these good ol' Fakku days you elites and elders talk about. But I'm guessing it was one heck of a time to be around back then.
I may have been off-topic more than once, and maybe created a repeat thread here and there. And I apologize for all these stupid and silly mistakes. Sometimes apologizing isn't enough but I guess its the best we can do. But we can all try to change. It depends how hard you try to change can it only make a difference. If we can't get Fakku back to what it was before, we may aswell try to get it as close as we can to what it was.

I've said this before but I'll say it again, I'm glad that I hang out in IB and for its very existence at that.

I totally agree with the front post. I've lurked the threads and notice all the crap thats been going on. I don't post much my self on my old account but hey, I'm trying to start over on this one.
It will be hard to change though. Theres probably a lot of young people all over the place with no care whatsoever for what they do or say.

whoa hermit, don't be too harsh. I think he just wanted to encourage old members on how to deal with new users without making them feel offended, and then tried to give an example (which is himself apologizing, PMing, etc). And I don't know about the repping amongst themselves, but if a user were posting something useful and especially is your friend, why not rep him/her? As long as it's not the "you rep me, I rep you" case.


I had a thought that we need more mods to maintain the forum contents, but then again the participation of all users to stick to the forum rules is more than enough to create a peaceful community. So just like you and everyone else said, back to ourselves. And yes, I believe we can make Gambler's ideal come true. No, we must.

i wholeheartedly agrees with gambler, i'm one of the user that have been warned by gambler (if i remember correctly, twice or more) but i know that's my mistake and i'm still trying to change it

Also, getting on topic:
Sometimes i think its fine to just have a (quote here) and then a "This^" or just plain quoting a person to show that he/she agrees with that person. It gives that person's words more of a backing and a higher standing if people agree with it.

Sometimes someone has already posted everything i needed to say, and i just quote him and say "well, he said everything i was about to say" and there really is nothing more i can add. If i didnt post, his post (no matter how truthful it may be) may just look like any other normal post, but if i did post an agreement to his statement, it makes his statement more sound (if you get what i mean).

With that said, i dont think that rule should be fully enforced yet without revision.

Fakku needs more Gamblers.

I could smell the irony in this thread before I even clicked it. If this is the way you are all going to act Jacob might as well just close the forum again because all this is just hateful spam in a topic trying to stop it.

The thought has merit to it. Not that more Gamblers exist (he's absolutely one of a kind :D) but because we do seem a bit short on competent people with power at times. I have ample of respect for the job done by admins and the help provided by mods but there's only so much 6-8 people can notice and regulate without sacrificing even more of their time and other activities. The 'good old Fakku' (it's still good BTW and fairly young :D) wasn't anywhere near 100k members (I'm wall aware how many of those are actually active).

As for the argument, I'll be blunt this once - SHUT UP ALL OF YOU !
Do not apologize, do not explain your selfs and do not comment from the sidelines or agree with anyone (me included). All this is derailing the topic even further and proving the pessimistic views right.

We're looking for answers to the existing issues here not creating new ones.

If more gamblers are needed...why not hold some sort of audition? I have no idea how mods are chosen here, but if there is a process to it, now would be a good time. He is the only active mod around, and I'm sure he would appreciate the help.

This is idealistic in a sense that it would be too much work to straighten everybody up. But like ero-sensei said, it should work out someway.

Sorry but what's Ero's business is my business and seeing you're the first one to step on our business I'll step on yours. What ero was just stating was that it's possible to treat new users nicely and that trolling isn't really much appreciated in the site. So like he said, it's not about him. That's all my piece about that topic.

About having more gamblers...

This is quite funny, are we going to see a lot more pedobears? Lol JK. Gambler's quite unique for a moderator. He actually tries to pull two ends together rather than just watching and correcting bugs, forum violations and other blah blah blahs. I- I'm not saying that the other moderators are inferior but rather I just wanted to state that Gambler is unique in this way and it'd be better if we see more of his quality around... but seriously More pedobears? Ths site will be less childfriendly lol JK again.

yeap, as many people have stated before, i really approve of the idea of having more mods. If there are more mods around and the rules/regulations are more enforced, most of these problems will go away.

There wont be any "noobs" (not newbs) for others to flame, and flaming wont even happen without consequences.

i have to agree with gambler the forum is now looking like a spamming flaming paradise and march didn't exactly start well either, although i may not have said it here people may remember me saying fakku has become a noob-hole which i don't find to be a good thing.

i find that the forums have become full of baron faces and i rarely see members i know anymore besides from the odd mod here or when I'm linked to a topic that has rs attention. i think that 30 posts thing kinda killed us a bit but i am always willing to make new friends so i can stand the odd new person coming in like in the good old days but now it seems as though we have 3 or 4 new people joining everyday that have no idea of forum culture because previously all they did was fapp to the hentai we offered i think there should maybe be a quick message or something when you join to try and educate some of these noobs to lessen the stress on everyones shoulders thanks for reading.
