@Gatheringsin I don't think the Macross units need to worry about Minovsky Particles since they use laser communications (at as far as the RPG world goes). Taking out the plot-armor of the Gundams would be a definite plus. And after thinking about it, a whole squadron of VF-22's armed to the teeth with Planet Busters will do significant damage on any Gundam. They may dodge or try to soak the damage but I doubt any Gundam unit as a very efficient cooling system to avoid the pilot getting roasted alive inside the cockpit addin the radiation damage as well. On a sidenote I wonder how the Power of Song from all singers of the Macross universe would affect the Newtypes/Enhanced Newtypes.

Nope, the particles themselves are required to maintain the reaction in the reactors, since the particles are what allowed for the miniaturization of nuclear reactors in Gundam-verse.


The particles affect radio waves, can't recall where it was ever mention as being magnetic in nature.
Gundam pilots are also mostly tree-hugging pussies, especially if they're newtypes. You think they can raise their weapon again J-pop idols that're used as WMDs in Macross? Even if they manage to kill one, they'd be so emo with guilt that they'd either quit fighting or just run-away with the gundam.

gn drives DO NOT have infinite power. they are ALMOST infinite unless they SPAM their weapons or activate TRANS-AM.

(where they have to dock to recharge the drives)

of course, other than that, gn particles are scattered for as long as the gundam is "alive".

Simple solution for Macross if Gundams are too much to fight for some reason. Destroy Earth. It isn't that important to them in the long run anyways. >_>

well...i think it works for the rest of the gundams but i dont think it will work for the 00 series ones (their home base is in space)

00 series needs a taste of earth gravity longer. Voted Gundams.

power, speed, maneuverability and overall firepower gundams are the king of the hill.

I'm actually stuck in the middle with these 2 series as my first love is Macross but lately Gundam has been coming up with good stories (and mecha) too

I tend to avoid gundam shows, but Gundam Wing is the only of the two series that I've seen.

Sorry but, XD anyways. I've only watched macross frontier, so I'll use what I know from gundam wing and macross frontier, they're only series i watched.

Macross Frontier already have one advantage, and that is they're far more numerous.

There's few gundams for many many valkyries they could pump out not even counting the elite valkyries I have seen in the anime. Plus they can be armed to carry any weapon.

While gundams is limited in numbers and weapon spec. Remember total destruction of a gundam isn't required to take it out of action, one can simply incapacitate the target if it's far more efficient and better to do so. With that thinking, a Valkyrie sniper or numerous homing missles and such can hit the target continuously until it's equipments is damaged like gundam zero's ubar beam rifle of doom.

macross have their ubar beam rifle of dooms too, they're equipped on warships that transforms into megasized valkyries XD

From what Macross Frontier implies, they're in decent amounts.

If it have to be come down to it, the mega sized valkyrie probably will win every single time due to its size compared to a gundam. it got far more energy output and everything plus kinetic force as well.

...plus, valkyries are warp capable (with the right equipment btw) and they have reflex weaponry!
