INB4 freak is just a hater.
Vocaloid is just horrible.
Those hologram concerts... Does anyone remember the anime expo thread where i was going to call a bomb threat on concert day.. yeah. Lines and lines of fat virgin weebs in line for a concert of 2d characters from a otaku wet dreams. People who holding up signs that they wanted to marry Miku... yeah. Don't get me wrong if you like it then cool.. ok. BUT DON"T BE THAT GUY. ... well i lost the dude in Miku's costume... meh
Vocaloid is better then K-on though.. a aids fill needle of xronniex jizz and whore acidly vagoo juices in my eye is better then K-on.

I was going to post the video itself on here, but I guess I was a bit late. I personally feel somewhat offended after watching that video, despite how I hardly listen to Vocaloid anyway. I would feel bothered too if people started talking negatively about such things :\.I facepalm'ed so many times during the duration of that video.
"What is this? She isn't even real! Who would watch this? Those people are so weird! Are they even at a real concert?"

I saw that kids reaction thing and i though about it. They are just kids and because they are young they don't really know better and just saw whatever they want. But when i hear some one who is in at least high school and says that vocaloid is dumb I think the opposite. Personally i love vocaloid and im not trying to make people who don't like it, like it but its really hurtful to hear something you love being called creepy or stupid. I think that they should look at what they are talking about from others peoples perspectives before saying something or just shut up.

Sometimes what people think about anime and things like that has to do with the region, too. Where do you live? PA

Well thats pretty much normal for people who don't understand the culture of japan. as for Miku being werid? fuck that..."you know whats weird, your parents bumping uglies to make you" would have been my response to that.

The so-called "Weeb" culture is really a love it or hate it area, with absolutely no middle ground.
I've never seen anyone who only "kind of" likes anime- and if there ever was one, it's not long before they outright embrace it.
I have one friend who kind of likes it... or more or less is cool with it. We've watched naruto shippuden and one piece together before. I mean he's definetly not a weeb or even close to becoming one, but at least he's more accepting towards this kind of stuff.

Well I watched it. I wasnt amused nor had anything like the reaction OP described. It really felt like watching, pick a concert from an anime. I suppose if it was a character I knew I would be thrilled.
I would like to know what they think of DBZ though. I bet alot of them know about it but dont know it was an anime (like I did for years)

Yeah don't worry about that. I would never stoop down to the fat virgin weeb level. Although I am still a virgin but I'm fairly young still so fuck it, I'm not too worried. Hell, I'm hardly that much of a weeb at all. As for Vocaloid, like I said, I'll be fair on my judgement until I actually here some songs before deciding if I like it or not. I do like Miku's character design though.

I like that answer. That pretty much sums up everything. +1 rep for you.

Not sure if this goes in random so here we go (feel free to move or delete)Alright so today in my AP art class something happened that kind of bothered me. It was near the end of the class and we were all kind of sitting there (it was after a presentation). This kid (who's a giant fag) then starts talking to the class about how he found this weird/hilarious japanese video online. He didn't know what it was or anything so then he brought it up on youtube and showed the class. It was that Hatsune Miku concert that had all those 3d effects and craziness to it (of course I knew what it was but didn't say anything). Pretty much after the first 30seconds of it everyone had the "what the fuck this is so creepy look on there face" followed with laughing and what not. Such comments such as "I really HATE this" and "this is so disgusting" were thrown out. ... Moral of the story is "normal" people were shown weeb stuff and were freaked the hell out... Of course this is expected so I guess it didn't really surprise me. Yet this is the first time I've ever really seen this reaction and it kind of annoys me. Maybe just the fact the people (some, not all) can be so fucking narrow-minded. Hell even the teacher joined in and started making fun of it. Also I've never really got into the whole vocaloid/miku fandom thing so I'll save my judgment on it for later. Basically how do you(fellow people of FAKKU) feel about this reaction. Does it bother any of you? I mean I guess it's somewhat typical but it kind of annoys me even so. Also since its art class and I draw anime, everyone is gonna be in for a surprise when I bring in my art.
Short version: Normal people see Hatsune Miku concert youtube video(the crazy 3D projection one) and freak the fuck out because it's so outrageously "weird/creepy/disgusting". My first time actually seeing this sort of reaction, and I get somewhat annoyed" What are your thoughts. (sorry for wall of text, tried to condense it as much as possible)
I totally know what you mean. I'm no fan of Vocaloids, I know like 2 of them and while a couple of their songs are nice, none of them are great imo.
But what really pisses me off is the utter superiority and "thank god we're not that weird"-ness with which people ridicule a lot of otaku culture. The willingness to unite in demeaning a new and unknown phenomenon is really sickening.
Side story: One of my friends, who is an art major, told me that one of her professors told her that this anime-style drawing she was producing was "too generic." To him, all things drawn in the anime-style were bland, repetitive and unimpressive. This is the kind of uninformed contempt you can expect from (many, not all) "normal" people.

Does is it seriously upset you people don't like the same things you do?
The art rooms after school in my senior year were usually filled with weabs who tried talking to me because I did a Pokebu wire sculpture.
If they really don't like it, oh well.

Thank you, I'm glad someone knows what I mean. And yeah I've had my art teacher tell me my stuff is unoriginal and bland plenty of times. I mean yeah, I still need a shit load of improvement and all, but they still look at it with a huge bias.

No it really doesn't upset me that much and that's not really what I was getting at here. I'd be very surprised if everyone liked the same things I do.

I still wonder why these 3D Miku concerts gets so much attention even from non-weeb audiences, just because it's 3D.
Did everyone forget about Gorillaz?

this does far more then annoy me, it sends me into a near blind rage. and ive dedicated my life to changing that, the stereotypical normal person veiw of everything Japanese realeated. i personaly love and adore miku, i was at the concert in la and it was BEAUTIFUL. its sad that people are so BLIND, it goes being narrow minded. they REFUSE outright, and rudley to even see it as real music. or art, anything of the sort. its beyond words. ive talked a lot of people into corners on this subject, and even when theres nowere else to go, they still give the whole, "its stupid cause its stupid" shpeel, realizing they look like a bloody idiot. but... eh, it just makes me do more n work harder so w/e

Ah you beat me to Gorillaz. Haha.
Sounds like when people ask what's my ethnicity I tell them Cambodian and then they reply back to me with "what? I thought you were Asian." and my face is just -_-.
Anyways most of my friends that I chill with don't really watch anime other than the usual that spawns on Adult Swim.
And when I'm watching something like Ao No Exorcist; Gundam; Star Driver; Saint Seiya. They go off saying "is that kind of rip off of DBZ/Bleach/Naruto." Doesn't really bother me. I just tell them to fucking deal with it and as one of the other posts said. Haters gon' hate.

My short answer to your story is that people mock what they don't understand. We don't get that sort of thing so it's seen as a tad unusual.

Omg, I'm Cambodian too and that's the same reaction I get! My friend keeps saying that Cambodians aren't Asians which is just stupid L_L.
