I already donate blood and have been debating on donating blood plasma. I have had the organ donor heart on my license since I got it when I was 18, so that when I die my organs will be donated.

Nu uh. I think they are more strict on it and its a more intricate procedure. Like, the first visit can take up to 3 hours. But, they pay you for it as well (at least the last time I checked they did).

I think I have the sticker on my license. I have no problem giving up my organs if I died. Just leave the head alone.

But I only did it once because...well people really did go there regularly to make money and...I guess I was just afraid of unsavory townies v-v;;
But watching the machines separate the plasma from the blood was cool. Although it feels weird when the blood goes back into you.

"Donating plasma is similar to giving blood. A needle is placed in the vein of the arm and the whole blood is collected into a sterile, highly-specialized medical device. The plasma then is separated from the red blood cells and other cellular components, which are then returned to the donor, normally with sterile saline solution to help the body replace the plasma removed from the whole blood. This process is referred to as plasmapheresis."
From one of the donation sites. They had like cookies and juice at the place, and just tell you to eat a big meal after, just like giving blood. If you're fine about giving blood, then I'd say try it. At least you get some money out of it, plus you're helping people.
But they limit it to once a week that you can donate I think.

I'm a registered organ donor. Though it is more formality than anything, assuming I don't die soon, my organs won't exactly be ripe pickings given my family history. But if any of them are good, they can have them.

I have not yet signed up to be an organ donor, but I certainly intend to do so. Donating organs (upon death) is really one of the most sacrifice-free gifts a person can give to the world, so it's really made for stingy jerks like me.
I also enjoy donating blood. Not just for the moral value, but also the physical process in itself. I really like seeing blood and needles fascinate me (not a crazy murderer, just a curious biology student) and I actually feel healthier after giving blood, possibly because I have borderline high blood pressure. I'll be looking into donating plasma in the near future; blood's the only thing I donate, so I might as well!
