You are right in your assumption that it doesn't matter. This thread was created because i hate idiots who minus rep and hide behind the rep system. Not because i care about rep, but because i hate veiled opinions. It bothers me to no end when people don't justify themselves.

Let me give you an example.

A girl kisses u and u ask her why she did that. She replied "i like you". Action and reason. That's legit!

Because of the rep system, you can't ask why. Not legit!

Here's another example.

That girl has a boyfriend and he 1 punch KOs you and then walks away. You know the reason so the action is justified. That's still legit.

Because of the rep system, you probably don't know the reason. Not legit!

i guess i was a bit unclear, so, too be sure i make my point this time, i'll tell you all a little story from my past.

i went to a place called job corps. it's a govt run vocational school. you can either live on campus in dorms, or off campus. in my dorm there was a guy who was obviously gay. his nick name was queen bee. i had a roommate who was bi(i think), and friends with queen bee. a friend of mine had a roommate who was always talking shit about queen bee and calling him a fag and such. he would get really pissed if you even jokingly called him gay. let's call him roommate X.

one weekend i stayed on campus instead of going to town. i saw my roommate early saturday morning on my way to breakfast. i asked him why he was back so soon because most people stay out for as long as possible. he told me he was at a hotel party with queen bee, roommate X, and another gay dude. he said me he got drunk and passed out early. when he woke up, he went to take a leak and saw a pile of wet clothes in the tub. when he came back out he saw all three guys in the bed sleeping, so he left. shortly after that, roommate X left job corps, denying everything to the day he left.

in retrospect, having seen quite a bit of homophobia and self hating closet cases before, i guess it did influence my conclusion. i just didn't think people could actualy hate the twilight movies that much. i didn't mean they were gay because they -rep'd, i meant they -rep'd because they were self hating homosexuals, and those movies reminded them of their secret shame.

Conclusion: Don't make a thread saying you don't care when you do care about the topic you said you don't care about.

I think there should be a requirement to give a reason, but i think the rep system should still remain anonymous because of faggots who would vendetta rep people for -reps.

For quite awhile now dozens and dozens of people have whined about rep and post their problem about it containing nothing but rants and piss. Everyone knows all it really caused was a ruckuss and unneeded chaos. And you my friend obviously being some sort of world class intellect believed that the best thing to do is absolutely the same thing! It feels like I'm watcing someone beat their hands on a brick wall until they bleed and go to the hospital before coming back to do it some more.

Rep for me is like cake. I can make it tasty and feed it to deserving people or I can put cyanide on it as icing then throw it on the faces of idiots. You can't teach anyone how to use their rep as you can't teach me what to do with my cakes. There's no clear rule on how to use it and I believe it's going to stay that way. People in here who claim to know the proper method of using their rep are just stating their OPINIONS, and honestly opinions are SHIT when it comes to reps. Countless of times I've read the phrase "I'll only rep/-rep people who deserve it" which is completely subjective as "how the hell can you tell if someone deserves/ does not deserve a rep/-rep" is entirely dependent on your imagination. Oh yes and the cake is a lie.

The stupidest thing about this is that people who say they don't care about rep are usually those who are completely butt hurt about it. They whine, they piss, they moan about how they got -repped and rage on people who gets repped "undeservingly". Here's a thought 2K how about actually stop posting about it if you really didn't care?

There are places for all threads even the completely bad ones as they are to be made example of "what not to post as a thread in fakku" but this thread has no right to exist at all. You claim you don't care about rep but every now and then you feel a little gremlin hanging about your head like an unreachable itch that pushes you to make threads like this.

Conclusion: Rep whine threads are poo. We had it before and it was shit and putting one now won't unshit the shit. All it does is magnify the effects as it excites people who -rep you before to -rep you even more.

How about we get off the topic of whether he actually cares about rep or if the thread's purpose will be reached and get on the topic this thread was created for: rep "abuse"; how do you feel about it.

*stands* Hi guys, my name's Bob and I'm a victim of rep abuse. Rep abuse is baaaad, m'kay. I have realized that I have no power over this. I will never be able to do anything but be a victim. I am hoping that a higher power will be able to help with my rep abuse, and set me free from this suffering so I can live like a normal human being once more. I spread the word, people. I spread the word that rep abuse cannot be controlled by sheer will alone. Skeptics say I am wrong. They say that I'm the victim because of my simplistic thinking, and that I can muster an intellectual defense against such terrorism, but they haven't felt what it's like to not be in control. *sits down*

I congrats people who saw my obvious sarcasm. And on a serious note, I hardly use the system because it's dumb and useless. No offense, I find the forum 95% retarded, so I don't get out of my vg section too often. Even there I tolerate a lot. So I don't use the rep

Well the one day a week or so I go into the User Uploads I try to remember to rep whoever it was that provided each of whatever items I decided to download. Other than that, I find myself negating reps a lot. I find a lot of people getting -repped because they said something that randomly pissed someone off or got caught by a random troll. Likewise, I've seen people get +repped for just being popular and saying dumb crap (usually in IB) and if it is just SO obviously trolling or in the fashion of a popularity contest I'll negate that too sometimes.

Otherwise make rep a comedic relief. So add a feature so you can add comments to your -repping or +repping. Massive lol's are ensured.

You are right, I may have underplayed how much i care about the rep system, but i don't care about it because I'm a whiny bitch, no! I care because I feel like I'm apart of FAKKU! and the rep system is an integral part of the community, you would be lying if you said you didn't care but loved FAKKU! Everyone cares otherwise they wouldn't post in this thread. If you didn't care you wouldn't give out - rep or + rep. You would completely ignore the rep system all together!
