Wow uh, I'm pretty hardcore and shit about videogames, but I don't see zombies in my dreams, even after playing survival horror. All I see is regular people trying to kill me, or me killing regular people. And occasionally, the mirror room. God, I hate the mirror room.

Alright I got another one. Now this one woke me up in a cold sweat. It was the morning of my first day as a freshman. I was sitting in this cassroom at a desk. the only distinguishing feature in the room I can recall was a rolled up futon cusion sort of thing and a poster of "Le Chat Noir". Anyway, I found myself staring up at where the wall and cieling meet, then what I acknowledge as blood started flowing out down the walls. During this whole time I was just sitting at my desk. then the "blood" started pooling in the middle of the floor. after it quit flowing from the walls, something started rising from the "blood" in a humanoid form. At this point for some reason I was overcome with fear (something that doesn't happen often). However, that isn't even the weirdest part. later that day I went into my French class, and it was the same goddamn classroom. Down to the poster and cusion thingy. I was weirded out the rest of that day.i think your were just nervous during your first day of school~

You know, people usually say that when I tell them about this dream, but
I wasn't. The highschool I went to was brand new, so my class were the oldest students there. I already had a lot of friends. And I'm really not the nervous type.

Ok, if anyone knows anything about dream analysis let me know. I recently had this dream that zombies were popping up everywhere in the city. So I went to the country, and as I walked up the this fenced in area with a shack built into it, I came across two talking pigs. They were standing on their hind feet upright. they started talking to me but I can't remember what they were saying. Anyway, they attacked me with axes, so i promptly buggered off. However, they kept chasing me. Eventually I got sick of running, looked down at my hand, and I was carrying my knife (hand made in Finland, perfectly balanced throwing knife). So I nailed one of the pigs right in the head with it. Right as I pulled it out the other pig stepped out from behind the corner, and lobbed his axe at me. At this point I woke up. Typically I don't have dreams this vivid, and I haven't been doing drugs for over a year now. Any thoughts?Did you by chance eat something before you went to sleep that night?
I'm not a big dreamer. But I remember this one nightmare/terror (can't tell which it was because it's symptoms of both combined) 3 years ago. I was at my Nanny's house, my dad wasn't there (he lives there) as usual, but my brother was home. My brother sleeps with the TV on and he had the big couch and I had the love seat since I'm only 5 foot but I couldn't get in a deep sleep because whenever commercials start I wake up again. Anyway, it was christmas eve btw. I went up to my Nanny's room (I <3 her~) and laid down in bed with her and she didn't seem to mind, and it was nice and dark how I usually sleep.
Well I was dreaming that I had a blind fold over my eyes and that I was bounded to a chair, I could hear somebody laughing and I had this piece of machinery on my face so I couldn't speak. I was screaming muffled and for some reason I knew I was gonna die, so I kept screaming. However, I was screaming outside of my dream too, I was screaming in my sleep. My nanny woke up scared as shit and kept shaking me and I woke up and saw total darkness, and I knew I was awake but I screamed again because I couldn't see and I thought I really WAS blindfolded. I kept screaming until my Nanny turned on the light. I was scared of my own scream, because I didn't know I COULD scream like that. It was one of those I really am dieing screams. There is no way any of you could possibly comprehend what it sounded like, because I never even heard a scream like that - not even in a horror movie, you can't act out that kind of scream. But for about a half hour my heart was racing and I was sweating and crying and shaking. It was one of the most scariest things in my life and still remember every second of that dream.
However I pretty much have it analyzed from my psychology classes, but if any of you wanna take a shot out of it, maybe we'll agree.

I seriously had this dream last night. I was somehow involved in a 2guy/2girl 4some and right before things got interesting, my penis turned into a 12+ inch long behemoth and then a fuckin blade projected out of the end about another foot. I'm still going WTF and I've been awake for about 8 hours.

What a great bondage experience... j/k
Joke aside, I won't say anything regarding analysis, but it eerily reminds me of the movie Saw, where a girl is tied to a chair with this big-ass head-popping contraption on her head.
Another thing to note is the fact that you could not reach deep sleep. If I recall my own nightmare (my second post in this thread,) I couldn't sleep properly on the airplane ride to Europe either, and that discomfort and being in a state of half-consciousness seems to elicit nightmares somehow. Apparently, waking up from a sleep cycle or a jolt to the sleep cycle will also elicit a nightmare, usually with the fear emotion.

Hmmm. Maybe it was your most feared way of dying comming to the surface. I have had dreams where I was talking in my sleep, (sometimes in a different language, and I only know english). I've also had dreams where I actually died, but it was never anything terrifying. Always some sort of battle or something. Did you happen to watch one of the Saw flicks this particular night. Sometimes of I watch a movie I'm really into before going to sleep I'll have a similar dream. Oh, and no I didn't eat anything before having that dream. My dreams tend to be pretty random, some nights I have 'em, some nights I don't. Usually my dreams tend to be rather abstract, however these dreams I've mentioned here are some of my more vivid and disturbing dreams.
Oh, here's a funny one my dad had. He had a dream where he was Obi-won, and was walking down a hallway with Anakin. While he's talking he pulls out a pack of ciggarettes, and opens it with his lightsaber. He then looks down, and sees all the filters fused together then says "Well, that wasn't a good idea." I laghed my ass off when he told me about it.

I thought it was like Saw too, but I seen that movie way before that happened to me. Like... a year maybe?
Death isn't a bad symbol for analysis. If I take in account for what was going on in my life when that dream happened, I had just started dating my ex, and I had just accomplished in the idea that I was comfortable not having a religion. I was going through a lot of mental breakthroughs and coming in touch with myself.
Death can be symbolized as dreaming of yourself becoming reborn. In fact lots of times it is. Like a revelation.
Also I partially blame my older brother. He had South Park on and it was that stupid episode where the animals of the forest convince that one kid to kill the mountain lion and how this skunk is like a virgin Mary but really is like the fucking antichrist. Try falling asleep to that.

Ah, South Park. That explains everything.
Sleeping with your face to the pillow will also cause discomfort, thereby disrupting the sleep cycle and elicit a nightmare with a sense of drowning. In your case, Ziggy_Otaku, you're tied up, blindfolded, and gagged to a similar degree to being drowned.
Also, a dream is not limited to whatever you can remember. More often than not, your brain activity will dredge up lost memories or your unconsciousness from whatever time. I know that myself because sometimes my dreams have bits and segments from memories of years long ago, only to resurface in my sleep.

Ok, here's one I had when I was about 13 or 14. My mom and I were in this convinience store, when out of nowhere the floor opened up and lava started flowing out. Everyone is backing away from it when I get knocked down. I end up putting my hand into it, but when I get back up I still have my hand. When I look down at it I wave this weird mark, like a serpents eye kind of bubbled up. Then I get REALLY pissed off for no apperent reason. Almost emmediatly after that I woke up, still enraged. Usually my dreams don't have this sort of effect on me. Yeah, I know the dreams I've described to you guys have all been really weird, but I'm just posting the ones that had a major impact on me.

I had a similar lava story but it was in my house, never touched it though and woke up shortly after as well. I blame the movie Volcano.
One of my oldest dreams that I can remember is one that happened when I was 5. It began when I went over to my grandpas house to see if he was home for some reason. I opened the front door and walk inside and called out his name. I then turn around and noticed that there was this HUGE FUCKIN SNAKE hiding behind the door. I tried to scream as hard as I could but nothing came out. Then I woke up, still trying to scream but I can't.

How I love to hear about other peoples nightmares.
Mind if I join in with the telling?
À propos 'huge fuckin snake', this one is about two years past, no particular uncomfortable sleeping position (At least not while falling asleep / waking up.) aside from probably turning around all the time due to my spine problems.
I found myself in my parents house, to be more specific in the bedroom, with my father sitting in the bed and watching TV - I couldn't really tell what was showing there - and I was standing at the door.
After observing the situation I suddenly realized that I couldn't really breath. I had a pretty similiar feeling to having a pillow pressed against my face. The little breath I was able to get felt kinda hot and I had the strong urge to open the window.
Just as I was about to open it, my father yelled out to me and told me to keep the window shut, but he wouldn't give me any reasoning for it, he just said I had to trust him. Great, isn't it?
But I felt pretty close to suffocation, so after a while I couldn't take it anymore and opened the window - and felt cold air against my face - but the troubles I had with breathing still continued on.
That's pretty much the point where I realized that I'm inside of a dream, and just as I figured this out, I heard a piercing shriek coming from outside, from the sky to be exact.
My thoughts: "Oh, now this is just great." and so I slammed the window close again, though I had a strong feeling that something really bad is gonna happen. I didn't have the guts to look outside the window or at my father again, because I knew that would probably be a really fucked up sight now, so all I did was to stare at the ground and focusing on waking up, which after approximately three seconds of staring finally happened.
So, laying around in my bed, I rolled my head to the side to see the reflection of the light which is coming in from the window in the eye of what seems to be a so called 'huge fuckin snake'. I turned my head back to look at the ceiling, giggling and thinking to myself: "Holy shit, now that was scary.".
What that was about, you ask? It seemed like the about three meters (At this point.) long Python molurus (Google: Indian Python.) which I was taking care of at this time figured that the warmth of my blanket would be more comfortable than her terrarium, so she opened the glass doors by herself. Intelligent critter, I give you that.
I still wonder if this had anything to do with my dream, I mean, her crawling under the blanket and stuff.

Holy crap, I'd be scared that the snake would strangle me while sleeping after that episode and get rid of it.

:!:
So I was a really small kid and this was in Korea, and my family and I were visiting a friend and we slept over at their place during the summer, so the screen door to the balcony was left open since the humidity over there could probably kill you before a thief does.
I was sleeping and I woke up for reasons unknown and felt weight on my chest. I glanced at my torso and someting odd was on it. The hair on the back of my neck stood and I quickly reached to get it off of me. The room was dark except for a little light coming in from the balcony door, so I didn't know what it was, but my little brain told me to get it off. I was about to remove it, when it moved.
I reflexively pulled my hand back, and it started moving off my chest and started at the direction of the balcony. At first I thought it was a rodent, but when it moved into the light, it appeared to be a decapitated hand, and at that moment all I could do was stare and watch as it climbed onto the railing of the balcony and jump off.
I actually have doubts in my mind that it might have been a dream since everything felt so real, but since I'm a skeptic I side more towards it being a dream.

Still remember my nightmare when I had math exam... Dreamed I was being put into an iron maiden (for those who don't know what it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_maiden_(torture_device)) while being innocent.
Guess me and my subconsciousness agreed that it is cruel to send people to math exams.

Just had one bad dream i can remember clearly.
In the dream i was running away from something, looking often back but can't see anything chasing me. But i kept runnig upstairs in some building. After reaching the top i run to the edge of the roof. Looking everywhere for a way too escap, but there wasn't one so I turn araound and face the stairs. There only was some shadow slowly growing out of the stairway and before I can see what chased me I jumped from the top of the Skyscraper. And fall down too the road ... before i hit the ground i awaked.
Bad awakening, because while I awaked I was falling out of my bed so fall in the dream, awake and keep falling some damed bad feeling i can tell you.
