It's also good to listen to other music than just American music. If I knew where to get other foreign music I would but I'm only familiar with getting Japan's.

1. Music is usually more "colorful".
2. Usually have great and deep meaningful Lyrics
3. All the words and music sounds better, than any songs that I have heard.
4. Japanese people have unique voices.

Sounds better then most American music. Voices and the Backround music go together so much better. More in sync then most American music that just repeats the same lines over and over again. Since I don't understand Japanese the voices are like vocal instruments to me.i Agree with you
i think on all jappenses music speacialy the sad/Love songs that its more like a poem

I don't understand japanese. That's why it is perfect studying music because the words end up sounding like instrumentals so I don't get distracted as much.

i like lots of music. they all are from different cultures that make them sound unique and the artist plays their song with their own feelings. ;D

It has certain qualities to songs that are hard to find in American music is all. I like separating genres by language because I really do think each language has its own "best type" and Japanese music generally gets the spot of soft, lyrical music with the occasional j-rock.

You know... I don't think they were really playing those guitars...No shit, lol.
And people, we have a music forum: https://www.fakku.net/viewforum.php?f=43 for all things musical.
Reasons why I listen to a shitload of J-music:
1. The broad range of music genres/motifs/styles: J-pop, J-rock, J-rap, J-urban, J-trance, etc.
2. Many of the current J-music have musical influences from all aspects of musical history, such as blues, jazz, opera, classical, country, reggae, and folk/traditional music.
3. I particularly like the fact that many Japanese artists incorporate snythesizers and electrical instruments/equipment that adds a electro/punk/trance/techno tone to the fast pace songs.
4. J-music has slow and fast songs, and almost all music are accompanied by a beautiful range of the scale and varying melodies. American music sometimes sounds too bland.
5. Japanese female artists - the only female artists I listen to without shame because their voices are beautiful and awesome. And it's an added bonus that they're hot.
6. J-music is what I call the artful hybrid of all types of music out there, and they do it well.
7. J-music also extends to anime/game soundtracks, which made me realize that soundtracks are great to listen to, and only J-soundtracks.

I listen to jpop/jtechno and I find it incredibly catchy, cute, uplifting, emotional, and pure awesome. Plus the japanese girl bands are ALWAYS SO CUTE! Favorite band is Perfume and song....that's a toughy...either Electro World, Love the World, or Dream Fighter.

I love Japanese music even if I can't understand. The japanese language sounds better than the English language. I love the melodies that go with the song too. The beats are pretty catchy too.

I 2nd G-money (feels like new jack city all over again lol), and also well japanese people are better with arts period(i hate to admit it but its true)
Another thing I think thats great with J-music is there's always a song for your mood and it's the best to go sleep to(i lot of bands leave me WTF from some lines)

Only reason for me would probably be for variety. With the lack of real musical talent in the US, turning to music of different languages (or at least the music from pre 2001) is my only other option.

Anyway, I like Japanese music because it sounds good and hard. I would kill to see DJ SHARPNEL live, that would be a epic rave. Or m1dy... not sure I have the stamina for a night of speedcore, though.
Granted, I like Japanese music about as much as any other music, regardless of place of origin. They just happen to make a shitload of it, so it takes up a not insignificant proportion of my library.
