what branch of military would you join?

If you had a gun to your head an was forced to choose, which would it be?
I'm a marine recon, recently reactivated, and as such i'm cuious if its really "the few..."
But i want you seriously consider your choices, and not just say "marines cuz they awesoms"
Think about it: is being "awesome" really worth the hell you go through in boot camp?

So: Army ditchdiggers? Navy salty? Air Force flyboy? Marine monster? or Coast Guard/National Guard pussies?

The navy.So i can be surrounded by seamen.

None. i have absolutely no faith in the leadership and tactics of the US armed forces.

not to mention the fact that they can reactivate you at any time.

For awhile during high school, I wanted to be an artillery officer. Then I found out that I wouldn't be able to wear a furry trench coat while standing over artillery pieces yelling "FIRE EVERYTHING!!!1". So that dream sorta died =P

If it wasn't for that,Air Force. What other branch allows you to saddle nuke and ride first-seat to the end of the world?

Coast Guard I don't wanna die. It's kinda funny though considering when my pops went to SRS (Surface Rescue Swimming) school in San Diego run by the Navy, Of the 45 people that signed up 5 of those being Coasties including my dad. 30 people dropped out or failed so only 15 graduated and all 5 of the Coasties were there.

Also they are our first line of defense against pirates. And come on pirate hunting sounds like fun.

Also if I did join I'd have to pass an E9 because my Dad is a Master Chief and he's making 5649.30 a month. Which is a fairly decent income.

Marines huh? Well, I would love to be in the Army. Probably in the Psychological Warfare division. If I have to choose besides from what's listed above, I'll go for Special Activities Division of the C.I.A....I love to work in the shadows...

Air Force, specifically, with the AFSC of 3E431.

Since I'm already in the Air Force, it's quite obvious what I would choose. If I wanted to be a window licking Marine, I'd go back in time and ask my parents to drop me on my head.



I would change my AFSC though, I'm not too fond of the 1N1 field myself.

not to mention they have battleships too... last line of defense for the US if navy somehow doesn't come out on top... plus in the Coast Guard they just dont take anyone you gotta score an 85% on the test they give you if you wanna join.... Army is 40%, Marines are 30%, Navy is 60%, and Air Force is 70%... (I THINK)

As for my choice... Coast Guard, Air Force is a close 2nd.

You are referring I think to the ASVAB, in which the requirements for the USAF are at least a 60 in any of the aptitude categories. It's not a test in the same manner that most would think, it's more of an appraisal; a worksheet that says what you're good at.

Even though I like looking good in dem USAF Blues, I'd rather wear my ABUs.

Oh dang, I was looking for the Marines option. Well, I don't have to join...maybe that's the one I would marry, anyway...
