What language(s) do you speak? =O

Ich finds super dass es hier auch User gibt, die fließend Deutsch sprechen oder zumindest etwas Deutsch können ^^

Naja, Deutsch ist keine seltene Sprache :P Schließlich gibt es in mehreren anderen Ländern auch Deutsche Schulen, besonders in den 2 sprachigen Gebieten nahe der Grenzen.

I speak English, with bits and pieces of Yiddish as a second language. You kinda pick it up when growing up in a primarily Jewish neighborhood.

I speak English. I can speak and understand a tiny bit of Tagalog (Filipino dialect).

I speak English. I'm pretty good with Latin and I'm studying Japanese right now.

Swedish, english and some japanese.

I only speak english, it's a very common thing for American's to be monolingual. I wish I could speak Spanish and German.

The spanish thing is due to the fact Spanish is a common language spoken in America, and despite everyone waving their arms around screaming that you can only speak english here - I don't really mind. Most spanish speaking adults (I mean like elders)just can't psychologically learn a new language in their late stages of life, and almost everyone tries, it's just people don't take in mind that it'll be bad/slow. You just have to be patient. I think it's quite endearing when people try.

I know enough spanish that I was able to help someone at work get their order and a simple conversation. That's about it.

The reason for the German is due to it's very much in my blood. When my parents were married (I was an infant) They spoke German in the household, and my brother was going to start preschool. He didn't want to because.. he's just a brat and at school he'd refuse to speak english. So the school sent home a notice asking about it, and my brother made my mom and dad stop speaking it in the house.

So thanks to my brother I never learned German :x Mom says she all but forgets it now.

I've heard that it's quite difficult to learn German when you've never spoke any German before, so .. yeah, your brother sucks ^^

If you are deciding to learn it and need help with the grammar and or other aspects of the German language, you can feel free to ask. It is a difficult language, but a flexible one that is very good for poetry.

english,spanish,and two years of chinese(which is not saying much)

I know what you mean. 2 years in a public school doesn't teach you jack... At least in America. I can barely carry on a convo in spanish.

i can speak perfeclty french and english... i know a little of german and Japanes...

but since i live and work in a french a city, it's difficult to learn a new language.
