Progressive rock and anything that has strong character. Really, way too many generic bands these days.

I listen almost exclusively to Techno and its sub genres, but no dubstep.

I mostly listen to metal. Thrash metal, and melodic death metal are my two favorite subgenres, hence the ones I spent most of my time listening to. I also love power metal, death metal, and traditional metal (Iron Maiden, Motorhead, etc)

As for non-metal stuff, I listen to classic rock like Led Zeppelin, hard rock, and hardcore punk from time to time.

I love heavy and loud stuff. Softer music just doesn't do it for me anymore.

I listen to western & eastern rock, Rap & Hip hop, Reggae and techno. Some pop/r&b music has caught my attention, but I mostly just listen to those genres while working in the family business (They're not really genres I want on my computer/psp).

Almost every genre of metal.. Classic's of rock and some punk!
hmm.. i have like 4 or 5 songs of reggae..
And of course, openings, endings and anime theme songs :3

I listen to Metal, Dubstep, Rock, Reggae, basically if it's good then I'll like it.

Pretty much just metal all around, but I think a lot of new and/or popular metal bands today are shit, especially almost every deathcore band out there.

Metal, medieval, various electronic stuff, even some J-Pop.

Lots of different sub-genres of Metal and some of the heavier Rock bands is truly where my interest is, but it really depends on the band. Anywhere from 30STM and Pearl Jam to Static-X and FFDP. However, I've been listening purely to K-Pop for the last 4-5 months. O_o

I listen to some "out there" stuff like Pogo, Animal Collective, and psychedelic music, however I like just about everything save for most rap, dubstep and country music (because I don't care about your fucking truck)

I'll listen to just about anything. I find myself leaning towards Rock and it's sub-genres, but there's a lot of other stuff I like listening to: Pop, Rap, Hip Hop, some Country (Johnny Cash a personal fave), Folk, Classical, etc. I'm never really turned off by a genre as a whole, but by individual songs or artists.

I listen to J-Pop and songs listed on the Oricon Rankings and mainstream stuff on the Radio

Pretty rare probably, but I listen to underground rap music most of the times(Eyedea, Atmosphere, Rhyme Asylum etc). But I also like bands like Radiohead, Deftones, Team Sleep, Idiot Pilot etc. That spacey kind of music that invites you into another realm.

LAWL, it's not 'Techno and it's sub-genres', you've got it all wrong XD
When you are referring to electronic music you call it EDM or just electronic music, not Techno (common mistake). AND they aren't sub-genres, they are all full genres of their own right. EDM is the name that groups them all.

I listen to Electronic Music, my favourite genres are Drum and Bass, Electro, (Progressive) Hau5 (:P), and Dubstep (not brostep). Im really into Liquid DnB and Dubstep right now.
