I call it by both soda and pop, since my region calls it soda, but my parents have always corrected me by calling it pop (as they're both from the Northeast). Now it's kinda more pop than soda, but I wholeheartedly blame behavioral conditioning.

Pop: As much as I love the 1950's...come on, that was 60+ years ago
Soft-Drink: That's just a pussy way of saying it
Coke: It's a TYPE of soda, but not all soda is Coke
Other:...No Comment
Soda is what it was, is, and always will be

I placed my vote on "other"
I don't relly like corbonated drinks so I only drink those if there's nothing else to drink.
Anyways. I usually get a Cappy or Ice-tea.

I call it soda mostly unless I wanna get specific and say the brand like "get me coke or pepsi...whatever..."

I'm from Northern California, and I call it soda. And from what I've seen, out here, if you call it anything but Soda, Coke or whatever specific brand you drink you get funny looks from people. I've never once heard a NorCal native call a soda a Pop.

It's called Pop in my house hold, and I've never really noticed if people call it a soda, or a soft drink. Though if someone says Coke, then I believe they are asking for Coca Cola(as long as they are talking about carbonated drinks XD).
