There are two 'drinking ages' persay for my Nation of Birth, which unfortunately is England.
The age limit for consumption at a home, with permission from the owners of the property, is 5 years.
The age limit for Purchase of any alcoholic beveridge, is 18, and it is illegal to purchase alcohol for, or with the intention to supply to those under 18.
Edit:
However, many store chains refuse to sell to those under the age of 21, or have a policy of 'Look 25' (Or in a few, 'Look 21') where, if they customer looks under 25, they ask for ID which shows that they are 21 or older. (In the case of 'Look 21', the shop's age limit for selling is 18 )

Down here you can drink at any age as long as your parents are with you. I've seen mothers slip their babies some beer to keep 'em quiet.

In Belgium you must be 16 to drink beer and 18 to drink stronger alcoholic drinks.
altough for the beer part nobody cares. most people I know started to drink around 13 or 14.

18, but nobody gives a dammn.
It's almost customary to drink beer around here and most people (minors included) follow it rather..strictly.
