I actually feel a little bad for the guy, honestly. That's going to be hard to live down.
Still, all along I've thought it was most likely that USA would be runner up in their group with England winning it, and I still believe they will both advance.
USA team actually put in a solid effort in that game, but I really didn't see the English offense preforming as well as they should have. Rooney and Heskey both seemed a bit off. Tim Howard played a great match after the initial England point, but there still were a lot of missed shots and opportunities on England's part, and they're offensive power just wasn't there.
Basically, I thought it was possible the US would score, but I also thought that, offensively, England would just dominate, and yes, everything went better than expected.

Although my predictions were off the track last night, I will continue to with my gambling activities. :D USA did manage to pull off a slight shock against England.
Over the past 2 days, all 5 matches have never yielded more than 2 goals, so I will be expecting lots of goals tonight, most probably from that of Alegeria v Slovenia. The conspiracy theorist side of me is determined to see a major upset, so I am hoping for Australia to pull off a shock win over Germany.

The two sides of Robert Green. If you've watched him play in the PL over the last couple of seasons, you'd know that he's a talented keeper who makes ridiculous decisions every now and then, and while the keeping situation and pressure wouldn't have helped you can't excuse that goal. I've said all along that Joe Hart, despite his inexperience, has the talent and a calm enough head to play these games, and I sincerely hope that he'll now play one of the next two 'easier' games.
As for England, Rooney was off-form (he hasn't looked great at any point since his injury) and Heskey played as well as he could, which is still fucking awful. Defoe needs working into the formation. We didn't look the same team after Milner went off for Shaun Wright Phillips either, who I don't rate in the slightest. I mean, Adam Johnson pushed him out of the Man City team at the end of the season and he still went. :|

Kaho, I'd say James would have started but for a minor injury he suffered in training earlier this week. I still think Hart should be playing, he's the best keeper of the three anyway but I don't think the argument of experience really stands up; he looked more than solid in the internationals he played in and he performed consistently brilliantly on loan in the PL. I hope that Green will play the next game for his sake, have an average time of it and be replaced by Hart when the pressure has subsided.
