[Locked] 2012 Real? Or A Scare Tactic?

That is true, all those predictions saying that the world will end, is all blah blah to me. In my opinion the world WILL end one day, and i mean our planet Earth alone, not the universe. The religious people are just simple minded freaks to me, and this is a fact: every year, criminals in jail are usually christians, jails are made up by 70% of christians, 20 catholic and 10% atheist.

Once 2012 passes by to 2013, nothing happens, i will laugh at the idiots who believed our world would end on 2012. 'Till then all we can do is continue with our lives and wait for it.

I don't know whether its true or not.. But it might be true.. If you learn Earth Science you will find out that the thing that causes the Earths gravity which is a rotation or some sort will change direction and causes the North and South pole to swap places.. Some scientist believe that this is what causes dinosaurs to go extinct.. It changes every million(s) of years.. Anyways, I am not going to go anywhere even if its true..

Here is my thought about it. Wether or not the end happens IM going to be in a steel bunker somewhere in antartica (nothing can get me there afterall she a country says "Hey let's nuke d world! :D" Antartica isn't on their check list)

Also think about it that year is going to be chatic and full of riots. Y u ask? Cus ppl are gonna b like "holy crap it's over" and do whatever they want. So crimes are going to increase over the year. Anyway whether the end is on 2012 or not it is going to b a chaotic year

Heh, if this don't happen, then we'll consider them fools, the april thing my friend taught me about give me the chills but, I don't happen.

I seriously hope that 2012 is real (even though its not). So that at least something interesting will happen in my lifetime that's worth bragging about (well...in the afterlife). I'm so bored right now doing/seeing the same things/routines over and over again, I'm so excited for something to happen.

2012 is going to be what it will be. For all the people asking if it is true, I ask what exactly "it" is. I know where the topic started and I know where it went, but there are a lot of post that reference "it." Its almost as if there is an implied understanding regarding what 2012 will bring about. I've spent a considerable amount of time on learning about what could happen, but apparently people know what will happen. In regard to the mindset when it comes to the subject, something will happen because people believe something will happen. However, that's mere speculation, just as any other theory is.

Eh... Mayan Long Court calender doesn't mean squat to me. If the Mayans were so adept at predicting the end of the world why couldn't they predict their own demise? Let me guess, "selective predictions." Reminds me of the phrase "God moves in mysterious ways." XD

It's a little too convenient for my taste. Besides, I doubt it would be some type of sudden occurrence. I think we'll get a heads up before everything goes belly up.

I seem to recall a pen and paper RPG called "ShadowRun" that got its origin from that 2012 prediction.

What do you mean the Mayans' demise? The Mayans are still alive today and so is their culture. It was only the civilization that collapsed, but its very likely that they did in fact predict it.

Regardless, as I've said so many times, the end of the end of the current B'ak'tun is just that. Anyone who actually takes the time into reading about the Mayan Long Count knows that there isn't any clear evidence that they believed the world would end on Dec. 21, 2012. There are even inscriptions that reference October 21, 4772.

I used to spend a lot of time on this subject. However, as I became more spiritually aware, naturally, I lost interest. I wish I could be the way I was years ago, but now I just see it as a nuisance I do find it kind of interesting that despite all this talk about 2012, there is no reference, in any way, to sacred geometry.

I meant the virtual demise of what most people think of the Mayans when they studied history. Not that all Mayans were dead or something.

If people would actually do more research about this, it wouldn't be so "crazy". I talked with a historical specialist on this (he was visiting my school and he was doing a presentation on Latin America), and he said that the 2012 theory is bollocks. According to translations, he said, the 2012 thing said that an era in history was going to end, not the world.

But then again, I could be just as wrong. But like I care.

how about you enjoy your fucking life instead of fearing the end of it? im being absurdly hypocritical but man, we'll be talking about what 2012 could mean untill 2013. if its written in stone that we evaporate like dbz foes then why dont we make the most out of everyday untill that fateful moment? its a diversion tactic to waste your time, thats what it is.

not really, im sorry if i disrespected anyones opinions on the subject. i think anyone can understand what im saying though, personally i think we take enough for granted as is. bills are fucking awesome to pay off, i hope i get to pay bills till im BLOWN AWAY.
