Abortions - Right or Wrong?

Well, to me, I just want to make it easily available so that those who want to do it can do it. To me as long as one is informed of the options available and understands the pros/cons, it's all ok.
All I want is for the women to carefully think it through before they they go under the knife, considering other options before opting for abortion. If the decision is final, then I agree that they should avail it in the safest manner (specially here in the Philippines where abortion is done by unlicensed doctors or by drinking herbal toxins sold near churches. Some also do it using a cloth hanger)
Also, some cons of abortion are infertility and higher chances of cancer and heart diseases. Besides my emotional standpoint, these (plus many more) are another reason why I want women to avoid abortion as much as possible.

I'm pro-choice.
I remember an argument I had with this stupid girl who was against abortion and I or someone else said "Well what if the child is the product of rape?" and she goes "Oh, well then its ok". Thats just absurd. If you believe its murder, fine. Hate them for doing it. Blah blah blah gay marriage, stem cell research, kkk blah blah blah.
[Edit] Blah blah blah smoking, religion blah blah blah.

I am of opinion that everyone is free to choose what they want.
At the time that an abortion can be done, the unborn child is entirely unselfconcious and doesn't store any substantual memorie's for longer than a few hours, mayby even minutes.
Due to this lack of selfconciousness and realizing that you lose your life, i believe you cannot see abortion as killing. It is true that you denie a living being the right to live but we are doing the same to million others every day who are way more concious for that matter. (Yes, millions, i am talking on EVERY plain. Bugs, insects, big animals, small animals, even lice...)
As a second arguement, this one applies only to underaged and unemployed: Would you put that child in an entirely unfavourable setting? In which he would suffer a great deal of his childhood due to the bad situation the parents are in? If life would be an absolute shithole for the kid and the parents would be thrown into a living hell... Why do that? THAT is the kind of thing that should be banned! NOT abortion.
If you say you feel for the unborne children then instead feel for the parents and family.
Keep in mind, this only applies under underaged and unemployed. I will go kamikaze on your ass if you use it otherwise or state otherwise
Edit on second arguement.
I suppose you CAN give the child away for adoption, but the parents may be to emotionally struck to make that choice, giving away their child, even if it means killing the unconcious thing. I would say that not putting it up for adoption IS the wrong choice, but as i said, it's a choice. A choice they make.

My question to everybody who is pro-choice.
Why should a life that hasn't even made an physical impact on the world be taken away? The only argument that is valid for abortion is the life of the mother being at stake. All others are for sheer sake of "convenience".
Reason1:"Wanted to postpone childbearing."
Should have used a condom and/or the pill.
Reason2:"Cannot afford a baby".
Should have used a condom and/or the pill. Can't afford them, then don't fuck. Simple as that.
Reason3:"Has relationship problem or partner does not want pregnancy".
You should have discussed that with your partner before hand. Also life sucks all around.
Reason4:"Too young; parent(s) or other(s) object to pregnancy"
Another life has to end because you were being a stupid and irresponsible child. Take responsibility for your actions.
Reason5:"Having a child will disrupt education or job."
You should have known the consequences of your actions. You fucked up and now you want that life to pay for your mistake.
Reason6: "Want no (more) children"
Should have been responsible, get your tubes tied, get the guy snipped, use a condom and/or the pill.
Reason7:"Risk to fetal health". Situational but, acceptable for certain reasons.
Reason8:"Risk to maternal health". Still acceptable
What 6 of 8 of these reasons say is "This (baby) will be an inconvenience to me therefore I should be allowed to destroy it." With all of our medical technology and intelligence you can't tell me people can make a decision and not realize the consequences of that decision. I won't include rape as a reason as it compasses of 1% of abortions in total.
Edit: I no longer have any real opinion on this argument as I am too apathetic about the whole thing to give a damn at this point. I just wanted to see how people reacted to this point. Anyways, nobody is willing to listen to the other side for any reason. You'll nod your head and say "I understand" but, you'll never sit and think on the matter from their point of view.

I do understand that Abortions shouldn't be done out of necessity or convenience. That is why I'd like some restriction to the choice of abortion, but everyone that is pro-choice (that I know) just allow it because the mother wants to. The only time I'd allow abortions is rape but all other people want it because of again, convenience.

If the rape caused the woman severe mental trauma, PERHAPS abortion may be applicable because mental disorders and stress can greatly affect the child. But if a woman gets up, stand proud, straighten up their shit take the child, I would support her and say she is awesome.
Btw, rapists nowadays are not stupid. They now use condoms to prevent giving the forensics some sperm samples. What is stupid is women "clean themselves" by bathing right after the rape, thus wasting away evidences that could lead up to the perpetrator.

Because it is valueless. As you said, it has not even made a physical impact on the world.
I don't subscribe to Sannyasa Ahimsa. I swat flies when they annoy me, because it's convenient. I advocate killing feti, when it's convenient.
The only argument that is valid for abortion is the life of the mother being at stake. All others are for sheer sake of "convenience".
Or, the greater good. But, to be frank, convenience is good enough, really.
Reason1:"Wanted to postpone childbearing."

Should have used a condom and/or the pill.
Perhaps they did? A condom's PI is only 0.9! The only safe way to avoid pregnancy is celibacy.
But all that is entirely beside the point: "Shoulda - coulda - woulda" never works out in reality. You gotta work with what you got. The fact in the case at hand is that there's an unwanted being in the woman's body, and she doesn't want to suffer through 9 months of pregnancy and the pain of birth. Valid enough reason for abortion to me.
Edit: Oh, since you absolved me from thinking on your point of view in your edit I'll elide the rest of the post and skip ahead to POST REPLY.

What gets to me is the hypocrisy of some pro-life people who are really there only for the "high moral ground", and cant really understand, nor care, why someone would want an abortion.
Granted, they should be counseled and explain the other options, but at the end of the day is not you who's pregnant, and if they still decide to carry on with the abortion after all, then thats their decision.
I know that here in my country at least, most decide to raise their childs, but that doesn't mean all should be forced to.

Catch it soon enough and it's all good.Um, anyways, even if it is human, killing it doesn't take away much from the world. It's not like there's anyone else in the world that knows it and cares for it. It doesn't have any memories or relationships. Plus, what does it matter if it gains a brain or not. It's still the same life. What, it's special because it now has a mind for the potential of being self aware and understanding? Doesn't matter at that moment.
B y that Logic, its alright to kill the baby out of the womb before it makes friends or sees other people.
I'm Pro-Life, but I'm not a hypocrite. I'm against the death penalty and (depending on the reason for it) euthanasia. To me even scumbag child rapists/ murderers have the right to life, to take it when they hold no threat to you is wrong.
That said, the whole reason abortions are as necessary as they are in the US is because of our shitty Sex Education, that says if you shake hands with a significant other you'll get AIDs and its not worth buying a condom.

I would've put here that Abortion is wrong, seeing as how I live in a country wherein abortion is illegal...
but just from seeing this thread, I actually pondered... Is it ok to allow abortion?... The more I pondered, the more it brought to my attention to the value of the life of an infant, unborn or not.
...Heck, I was a fool to actually ponder... It's a definite no. If they don't want to have a kid, they should've been smart and used contraceptives. I mean it's not like a condom here and/or a pill there would cost a lot. Abortion on the other hand, can cost you a LOT... financially AND physically (for the woman), not to mention ,it might cost them their relationship. for all I know, they could even end up being disowned by their parents.
And to add the flag on the tip o the iceberg, It could greatly hinder them spiritually.
There's the saying that I like... Better SAFE than sorry... very sorry...

The debate about abortions is pretty unique - whatever side you choose makes you an asshole.
Personally, I think abortions are okay if rape or sexuall assault is involved.

As to the convenience issue, I would kill everyone in the room if it were convinient for me, but I don't. Why? Morality. That's the reason why I don't want abortions to be done conveniently. The reason should be necessity, and it must be backed up with a valid excuse. You can't just go mashing up embryos in the womb because its convenient.

I feel as long as it isn't capable of free thought, go ahead and kill it if you don't want it. I mean its that, be a spiteful parent, or put yourself through nine months of shit just to give it to the adoption agency.
People say the baby could be a doctor, a lawyer, or someone that does something amazing, but its more likely that the baby would grow up terribly with neglectful parents that actually wanted to abort it and will end up some pimple on the ass of society. Thanks, pro-life!

Well, I can't really ever say that an abortion is right. I mean, I generally consider death as a waste of useful material while prevention of the need to kill is a better spent area. However, life is cruel. Nothing ever turns out okay or perfect, and, combined with the fact that humans make mistakes, I am pro-choice. I'll always be for prevention treatment over intervention treatment, however with factors like foster-care, the stigma of teen-pregnancy and/or the "bastard" stigma, and the risk of overpopulation I have to say its up to the mother.
It is not my place to judge them for a decision that is not my choice and should never be my choice. It is not my place to decide whether or not a rape victim should keep the child of the event. It is not my place to decide whether or not a mother and child should both die because of irregularities involved with the pregnancy. It is not my place to decide whether or not a child should be forced to be born into the world and suffer and die minutes to hours to days later whether such pain can be removed from their lives.
So if you ask me if abortions are right or wrong, I would say wrong. Are they necessary? Maybe. Maybe.

Because, of the many years through human progress, doing things just because we wanna ends up killing us.
Remember the innocent dynamite? The one made to make mining easier? How about the nuclear bomb, the dynamite's great-grandson that was used against Japan, THE SAME JAPAN WHO MAKES THE HENTAI WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE?
Another is Molech, the golden-calf statue where you burn babies to make good harvest. Its common practice because a) the area where the ritual is done has bad weather for farming and b) they have too much babies its INCONVENIENT. People soon discovered the sooner the child dies, the better, and what's sooner than in the womb? Thus Abortion.
We have technology to solve problem A and people typically bear 2-3 children per couple, way less than the 5+ children trend in the ancient times. WE DON'T HAVE A NEED TO KILL CHILDREN (nor embryos that are to be children).
Solution all these debates? Wear condoms/drink pills/natural family planning/whatever people do to not get pregnant (and if you can't do that, don't fuck) until the day you realize you want children.
