Being in love with 2D characters. Right or Wrong?
0
When someone falls inlove or get attracted to a 2D characters it's kind of like romanticizing a human being so you don't see them for who they really are. You have a dream or a view of how you want your partner to be and humans are flawed thus we end up going into delusional state with real humans and not seeing who they really are. While a 2D character is something we can create, it's our pure wants and desires. If it has a flaw one can fix it to fit ones dreams perfectly.
Before I got into hentai I knew a guy who had no interest in human girls at all and I didn't understand, but as I got dragged deeper and deeper into the anime/manga addiction I started with hentai and today I can easily understand it. American's just haven't gotten to that stage of experience yet and so when they hear about lolicon or falling inlove with 2D characters they connect it with their old experiences and thus gets the wrong idea about it.
my thoughts atleast...

I believe that's wrong in my thoughts. For some people this may be true. but for people myself we love someone in real life for who they are and love hentai for the style and art. sometimes hentai though can be emotional enough to cross into the other side though. But to me these are two different kinds of love.

I left him a quote from xxxHOLiC: "What is normal, anyway? If you aren't troubling the rest of the world then there's no harm in being not normal". My best advice to him is that he do not trouble other people. It's not a sin to love 2D characters but it is definitely troubling for most people to see in public. This summarizes most of my opinion on the matter.
Whether it's right or wrong is not for me to decide and label. My opinion on the matter is, NO it isn't wrong, as long as other's aren't harmed. Whether they find it weird and all that doesn't qualify as harming.
While I personally can't find myself solely committing to a fictional character, I don't judge others for it. Sure it might appear a little weird to me, it won't completely form my opinion of them based on that fact. I find it quite ridiculous that most seem to jump to conclusion that these people are pedophiles and would easily rape a young girl, while they have no solid proof of this except for speculation and conclusions drawn from their own negative opinion.
My opinion remains quite the same on the matter: if doesn't hurt others then I don't see the problem. It's their life after all, why should anyone else decide whether they're allowed to live it like they want.

What these presenters are forgetting, is that everyone is individual, each having their own personal preferences and not the same opinion as they posess. People are allowed to like 2D characters, that is why 2d was created (or my personal opinion, anyway) 2D characetrs, anime, cartoons, all create an alternative universe in their own story, and reading/watcihng/wanting to be those characters is a form of escapism.
If someone so whishes to become emotionally attached to a 2D character, why is that wrong? Why are they exaggerating and overexpressing Japan and the Japanese? Its not just the Japanese that have these preferences, people in other countries and countries in the western societies also have this mindset of preferring the 2D. Look at comic book superheroes. Wonder woman, Storm, Super woman, Cat woman. Is that not too another form? When I studied my media studies course and I had to study comic books, I was taught that these characters were there for "eye candy" something to look at. So why is just anime targeted at?
The comments comming out of these presenters mouths enrage me. Seriously. What ignorance! I don't see a point to their descussion at all. If one person was genuinly for and one person against and they actually discussed the issue rather than trying to force a message to the audience, then I would have something better to say about them. But clearly it is baised to the max.
I personally believe that its okay to be infactuated with a 2D character. These men and women who prefer the 2d, have their reasons. It could be rejection, something bad happened in their childhood, or possibly, a 2d character doesn't have any flaws. They can be drawn perfectly, have a perfect personality and will never leave you.
For myself personally, I wouldn't become obsessed with an anime character to the point of only loving a 2D image. I personally like 3D relationships but when it comes to 2d imagery I am a fan, and I'm not ashamed of that. I prefer 2D porn to 3D porn, but in reality i prefer 3D companions.
But don't get me wrong, it would be awesome if you saw the world in anime, if magic was possible, if I could have my own pokemon.
But I believe that those who like 2D over the 3D have a valid reason for it, and its possibly might not be harming anyone. Perhaps in the long temr its harming their mentality for a lack of communication and relationships with 3D, but whatever gives them happiness for now is a good thing. Its over not harming me that someone prefers 2D over 3D and its none of my buissness. Just let them be.

Spoiler:
The hell man? You're saying the exact same thing Dirty said! But now your simply increasing the scale, i'm European (Holland) and i don't at all think like that, so don't shove it on us.
I for one know of NOBODY who thinks like those two AT ALL. So i'm pretty sure either you only ever met those kinds of European's with the luck of 1/1.000.000 or i never met one of those with the luck of 1/10.000.000
Long story short. You copied with a change of location.
Personally, I don't give a damn wether you like 2D or 3D.
My preference lies with 3D but i wouldn't look up nor around if i met someone who thinks he's been married to a 2D character for 2 years.
(Of course i'd frown and think on it behind him but it won't change the relationship)
Now about the vid: 10 to 12? You kidding me? Couldn't they come up with something better? LOOK AT THE BOOBS MAN! She's pumping steroids in her breast for that at the age of 10/12
"Not attractive enough, not succesfull enough for a real women"
She'd be amazed how many good looking people with promising carreers are in that situation... Honestly, she'd be amazed.
I dont even WANT to comment on that guys stupid assed comments... What the hell was he thinking?

I saw the video read the post and I should say that I dont have much more to say. The obvious answer is there isnt anything wrong with being in love with 2D. But I still pose a quistion, some people will swear loyalty to their anime characters, and claimed marraige to them, then stay single in life thus contributing nil to baby production, this is just a minor problem as the numbers are not big. But if taken to the extreme, reproduction rate would be low, by then, I quistion, is it wrong? It may seem stupid but the anime industry i believe is booming since 2000.
Those two person reported on a article with facts and used too much of their personal opinion, unprofessional, nobody wanna hear their opinions it not like they represent anyone and their "I think" are not backed with facts. They just place their opinion on facts, how did they even run a show like that.
And hell I can see all the biased opinion backed with unprofessionalism by constant smirks when talking about the topic. Heck, this is just like two uninformative individuals talking crap during my afternoon class break.

I believe I know what he is thinking, the same perception by uninformative people for many otakus and anime lovers, he regard his status higher then them, he regard them as people who stay at home and do nothing but ther otaku life style, he sense superiority in the whole otaku community to be able to comment his opinion like that on a media with a goddamn mutha fcking smile on his face.

It may seem stupid but the anime industry i believe is booming since 2000.I think this is a really good question, but at the rate the human population has increased I don't think it too much as a severe problem. I can't back this up with statistics right now, I'm too tired to search for them, but I know that the rate of births has increased significantly in recent years, and with fossil fules and oil being consumed at the rate it is, a decline in births could be a good thing. If births continue to overun the amount of deaths and the population increases and continues to do so at the same or even greater rate, I believe that we, as a world population would be screwed. What happens when we run out of land and resources?
Although, I don't agree with just one race declining the amount of births, I think its a global thing and I believe that diversity is very important. But who knows, perhaps staying single and falling in love with 2D characters does decline the births, if it ws happening on a mass scale, for instance in every country, its probably a better way to reduce the population than say, war or laws for one child per family. The consequences for that are a lot more brutal than faling in "love" with a 2d image.
Of course, I'm not saying that the human population should be wiped out, just that the rate of births should slow down juat a little bit, but perhaps my view is quite extreme. Apologies for the lack of facts.

da fact that loving a 2d character is pretty low....but i can understand why they love them so much....
1) Heartbreaks
2) Dissapointments
3) lack of confidence
4) poor self respect and etc.
but in my opinion its wrong.

I believe you can make it out to be right or wrong. It's simply a matter of opinion.
I for one think it's right. Why make someone feel bad about themselves simply because they happen to prefer fictional women over real women? Hell,I prefer fictional women much more because they aren't immensely annoying.
And unlike the people in that video think, not all of the people like that are socially inept. So I think people should stop fucking making first-glance assumptions and see people like him for who they really are.Shit man,why can't we all just be hippies? We'd be too stoned to give a fuck about anything.

I love anime and 2d girls, but in a different way as I would love a woman in reality. *I'm the kind of guy that keeps moving in and out of reality
Anyway, loli is loli, and child pr0n is child pr0n, so is Maria Ozawa is not equal to any of Okina's shining musumes. I know what is attainable and what is not. I can fap to loli but it doesn't mean I will dare touch a little girl.
Fuck yeah! Cheers to getting stoned out of the rocker!

Well I think up to the individual if he/she loves a 2d characters. As long you don't go "over-board" you know. Not to be a mean person or anything, sooner or later you will have to decide, 2d or 3d. Again its up to the individual.

I hate to agree with the people on that show because of their sanctimonious attitude and that they offer no solution to this issue, which gives me the overwhelming desire to slap them.
But for people who go that far to bring dolls and pillows with them to work, they might need some serious help. Putting so much energy into a one sided relationship cant be healthy.
But I have to state that I can't see anything wrong with admiring 2D characters half the reason why I got really into anime is because I came across characters I admired and it helped me get through some hard times and even now I still hold those characters as important but I cant agree to cutting off human relationships outright

"Loving" fictional characters is one of the most idiotic any human being can do. I seriously see how you can love something that has no feelings, a fake personality (You can easily turn your lovable loli into a sedist, serial murder rapist if you want to) and it's not real.
When you can get excited without looking at your 2d "love", then you got some serious problems and should seek for help as soon as possible.
