Do you believe in "GOD" ,and the "Great" beyond ?

There is nothing I've seen to make me eblieve that there is such thing as a God or Great beyond, therefore I am an atheist.

I guess I can be classified as believing in a "God". I grew up in a Catholic home, but I've been skeptical of my religion for the last few years. I guess I'm a theist.
I'm not sure if their is something after death, but all I know is that I'm functional right now and this is all the "life" I know of so far.

Well, I've grown up on Christianity.
Which, shouldn't influence my belief in it much to be honest, but it does make that religion one that I have to be most open to.
Only because those surrounding me practice it though.
To be quiet honest, I'm not sure what I believe.
I guess you could say I'm Christian.
I believe because it appears to be most logical to me.
You can believe other religions.
But for those who believe in nothing vs. Christians..
I think choosing to not believe and either going to hell or nowhere doesn't sound as good as going to heaven or nowhere.
:D
Also, those who haven't read the bible cannot say they don't believe or their choice is right.
They have no fluid evidence or backup data to project their theory further.
So, their opinions in religion are bullshit to me.
The bible is the origin of all religions, so therefore you must read it to be able to believe one religion vs. another.
Exmple: Believing Judaism over Christianity.
You could say I've branched off and created my own religion in a way.
I believe in god and the bible because it seems most logical to me, but I don't believe in going to church and practicing the religion really?
All the bible says is to go to heaven you just have to have faith.
So, I have faith.
No church, but faith.
So, that's about it.
:DD
I love hearing other peoples opinion though, so who know?
Haha.

I'm a Pastafarian. His noodly appendage touched me in a dream, and now I am compelled to follow his ways.

I believe in God, but not in religion. Bible is full of bosh (it and it's explainable, it was written by men).
" Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent " completely not necessarily, as I have told, in the bible it is a lot of bosh, there are no evil THINGS or BEINGS,
good and evil purely subjective (Robin Hood is good or evil? For beggars good, for the nobility evil), and the God maybe malicious for those to whom it does not help, and how would you decide in his place who deserve help and who not?
I stopped reading posts on 5th page with Rbz and Chlor discussing pointless details about atheism, but what i dont understand is concept of BELIEVING that there is no God. Why? I mean why? What for? I mean i've seen people with the same "faith" (and they are criminals), but will this do any good for them? I mean seriosly, why?
It is impossible to prove God nonexistence, as apparently his existence too, admit it. So why you atheists need to convince yourself that there is no God? When you can with the same success convince yourself that he is here. Watching over you, waiting for you to solve this problem, and if you cant (by this i mean you'll die), he will catch you. And why all others realities but the one in which you live in must be the fakes? People afraid of unknown, and yes, i'm afraid of what will be, and as i said there is no evidence of God nonexistence either, so atheists must be afraid too, so why the hell are you not?
I like the story-novel "Jonathan Livingston Seagull". After reading, the point of it is i dont know anything about beyond, but those who know something, they will never write in this topic for feeble-minded. Just like Buddha which left others while shouting "so far losers, sort it out by yourselves", or like professional computer hacker would never participate in World Hacker Tournament (i know, my english is bad).

I don't believe in god. I also don't believe in any forms or afterlives.
I do, however, believe that there are some things that exist that science has not yet explained. What I'm talking about are things like when master martial artists tend to use internal energy and stuff.
I have the feeling some people link unnatural happenings to religion. I don't believe, so if anything weird happens. I would still not believe in god and think there would be another explanation. :D

The irony here is magnifique. It's almost as tasty as the flying spaghetti monster.

The bible is the origin of all religionsThis competes strongly for the title of most wrong assertion made in this thread.
The bible isn't even the origin of all Abrahamic religions, let alone all religions everywhere. Have you never heard of Judaism? How about Buddhism, Hinduism, Shintoism, Taoism, Wicca, Scientology? What about the Norse and Greco-Roman and Egyptian and Mayan pantheistic religions? What about all the religions and mystery-cults I haven't mentioned, enough to fill encyclopaedias?
I mean, good God, man. How can you live in such a profound state of ignorance?

I was typing a lengthy opinion but then my browser crashed, so I'll post only the tl;dr version:
I believe in God, but I see him as a cosmic parent whose kid, humanity, is now reaching puberty. In a few centuries, we'll be all grown up, living on our own and no longer needing our parents, and perhaps, if science advances enough, we'll have a kid of our own...
It may be a stupid analogy, but it's the best way to convey what I believe.

I would like to think that there is one, but all the terrible things that has happened in the past has me thinking differently. If I were "God", I would try and make this into a peaceful planet while smiting away evil, or at least wiping all sense of evil out of man.
[size=4]But I'd belive in Odin before I'd 100% belive in God.[/h]

Statistically speaking, your chance of getting to heaven is quite slim.
Think about it, there are 21 major religions on earth, not including the different sections of those religions (christianity also includes LDS, catholics etc).
There are also the other 4,000+ other rleigions that arn't classified as major, with their secs and foundations.
Therefore you have about a 1 in 10,000 chance of picking right.
Just step up to that wheel of choices, spin it and hope for the best :D
My friend once said 'we are all born into this world to study for the afterlife exam, so we pick a subject and study that. However, the problem is you dont know WHAT the exam is about once your dead, so studying one thing over everything else is illogical. Either study everything equally, or nothing'.
Regardless though, im an agnostic athiest, but I see why people believe and am fine with it. Personally, probably no god, probably no afterlife.
As long as you dont hurt others or impose on their private lives, what you do in your spare time is your own buisiness :)
