Military advancements

Advancements in American Military technology are amazing. The United States puts billions of dollars into the military. Discuss with me on the new technologies used and the main question. Is America the main military power on Earth?

I do believe we are the only remaining superpower. Russia has been quiet on the military side, Japan too. Really, we have a strong, dedicated army, all of the technology, and a myriad of ICBMs.

I hear they're working on exoskeleton suits and thats not even a quarter of what the military is working on to improve the future ._.

The exosuits they were working on when I was in were more a unit for carying greater load weights, In other words more equipment, and if you really look at it, we have been ahead on the tech curve for years, but it also depends on how good your intel is, the terrain, and the tanacity of the enemy, and the numbers, I mean we had the edge on equipment in Veit Nam, but the Veitnamese were much better suited to the area, new the terrain for ambush, and regularly came out on top with lesser equipment. Don't take this as an anit-war rant but there is still room for improvement.

Yeah, but if you consider it well, Japan and Germany, for example, they don't have a proper army since the War II. That leaves them "spare money" they can spend on social projects, infrastrcture, and whatever else the government does. In other words, while America holds the possible best armed forces in the world, what does it do for its people? I'm not american, I'm really curious.

id have to admit we have gone far but i would say were the last super power.
yeah weve got some tech that others dont but if you look the bomb the one thing that kept us at such a high power dosnt even matter any more i mean every ones got one now. ><
naw realy for super powers right now im running with america russia and china.
but thats just me speaking.
!?

But I don't think the military have suits that say "MAXIMUM ARMOUR, MAXIMUM STRENGTH, MAXIMUM SPEEEEEED" all the time.
On a slightly more related note, I belive that America will either turn into an army of evil, take over the world (Before Pinky and the Brain) or be overpowered by the other countries working together. Otherwise, it may go the way some people are predicting. Down. Euro is looking to be the new 'cool' currency to have.
Did you know that The US has used military force a number of times, but has only actually declared war 5 times (the War of 1812, the Mexican War, the Spanish-American War, World War I and World War II). <- Which is probably wrong. Someone prove me wrong. The 'war on terrorism' one doesn't count.

I thought you guys might get a kick out of this, since you are all talking about army exoskeltons.

Looks like they already made it. It lets soldiers carry 70 pounds on their backs. Too bad it already weighs 100 pounds already. The good thing though is it has hydraulics that make it only feel like 5 pounds. It cariies only a quart of gas though so it can only move for 15 minuites. The final version should allow soldiers to carry 200 pound backpacks.. I think thats what the article said translated from all garbiliswh to plain english.
It should be alot better though by now since this is from 2005 and its a prototype. If i find something cooler, Ill post it. I think I saw a cool article a while ago about Japan making an actually gundam but it was really long time ago.

Feel free to prove my history is wrong but..The USA didn't take an active roll on the first world war did it?
Mainly, only most of Europe was in it.
Buuuut~ It must be globalized since Europe got their primary resources/guns from USA.
On the topic at hand, I heard somewhere, that the tecnology you had in "Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter" will be available in 2010 for the US Army.

Eventually it played an important role, but not until 1917(war ended 1918). The US did indeed play an important role by helping out with supplies and the such, but yeah they didn't officially join the war until near the end.

Alright, thanks.
Didn't know that last part, I thought the US never actually joined, guess I was wrong lol.

When it come to Military power I think the United States has quite a leg up, considering past super powers either disarmed or consolidated spending post WWII. With the state of the USD and the rising economy of India and China though I worry, all the neato weaponry I see on Futerweapons in the US is pontless in my mind to a stagnant economy. The weapons I do see are amazing though to say the least, like that Excalibur (I think) artillery round. Dispenses bomblets midair that target and fire molten copper to disable tanks and tank crew, thats just nasty.
I live in the states mind you.

I completely agree with you, what good is all our weaponry if our economic standing goes to the crapper. With the war on terrorism, all the money we owe to different countries, and social security eating up all our paychecks; is the US's standing in the world that great anymore? Sure its unquestioned that it is the greatest in the world in millitary might but if we go on some kinda conquering rampage other countries will stand against us. It would be a whole new world war with us as the bad guys instead of the Nazis.
But I seem to be moving away from my point. Is it really ethical and or even intelligent for America to be putting so much effort and money into its millitary? Wouldn't it be better for more economic advancement rather then military?
(If I strayed too far from the orginal topic ill post this as a new one, I'm still new to Fakku and dont wanna break any rules)
Oh and I live in the states too.

I know that sweden are making some of the most advance bombs, airplain mm but were only selling them.
We have ben selling miletery eqitment for meny years and i know that USA and other milletery forses usually bye frome sweden rather than frome some other contery becose of the high quality and the advanst teknology.
And about the exoskeltons they are now making it eaven smaller and trying to make the exoskeltons to work for 45 min, and they have allredy developed a self thinking gun, but duno how it works.

think that were just have finicht developing armor-pearcing-explosive shells for tanks now.
ex; the tanks fire one of this shells on a house instead of going right through the house and dont explode or explode att the front of the house, its going to the middle of the house and explode.
we have also developt drop bombs with such accuratesy that it will only miss the target by 1-2m wile the old misst the target by upp to 1km just to reduce the chanse of hitting civilian

i can say that the most used/popular is AK-47/kalacnikow (duno how it spells) just becose its cheap, easy to make, easy to handle, the bullets start spining when they hit the target (they dont leave a regular bullet wond)so the target got a high chance to die if the wond is left untreated and finaly (dont like this fakct...) they are so easy to weld, use and get to that eaven a child can use it.
Peronly i think its not the wapon that kills but the one who uses it
