[Locked] Philippines to Ban Hentai!
0
A philippino thread would be nice. I mean we were technically off topic for a while now. Oh and liger, I that's exactly how I thought this bill came to pass (specifically the congressional cover up for not being able to do their own jobs properly). Hmmm.... I wonder..... What do you guys think about this? Does the majority of the Philippino population agree or disagree with with this ban? Why or why not? (maybe we could make a new thread about this question if it isn't so easy to answer. :)

Made a filipino topic, go there regarding Philippine related stuff.

@serpentura
Yeah, I agree. I think she may have made Pinas more worse than it was before.
Back on topic..
Banning Hentai? That's insane!!
Like they care if we love hentai. The government can't do shit about it.

WOAH now that's one that can be easily posted at the "Stupid Laws Thread"
a country without hentai? then that must mean it allows porn?
hentai (animeted base) porn (real based)
if I go there at the Philippines the first thing I'm gonna fucking do is kill the senate that fucking passed that fucking bill!!

Is it Hentai, or lolicon?
If it is Hentai, then sorry bud. Sign petitions, and make them.
If lolicon, I learned that Canada has the same problem. But the avert it by saying their characters are at least 18, even when they look like seven(see Jewel Knight Crusaders.)

I think even porn is illegal. I was reading a pamphlet when I was visiting the Philippines again and it said "you may not carry ANY PORNOGRAPHIC MATERIAL. It will be confiscated."

"They could take away your home, your work or your life, but never can they take from you your faith" forgot who said this but... ban it as they like, as long as we like it, it can never be taken from us! Hooraah XD

My statement wasn't only directed towards hentai ban, but to laws passed in the phillis in general.

Wait, are you serious? I'm a filipino who's aspiration is to be the first to openly publish hentai in this country. I just read this thread today (well, tonight) and what am I to do now with all my ideas of jeepney rape?
First of all, they don't give much attention to the porn industry, plus pirated porn is very much rampant in Quiapo. But they are banning hentai? Seryoso, nakakabwiset at nakaka-puta sila pag tinotoo nila yun.

The politicization of sexual repression, like in this case, is not a new trend .If this story has to have a beginning it would be in the age of pre-reformation when papal authority was at its peak. Back then sexual promiscuity was highly frowned upon due to being seen as a deviation from the churches "God given" rules and the ideas of freedom of thought and speech was deemed highly unfashionable. These ideologies then carry on unto the modern age and becomes an integral part of the western culture's views on sexuality. This scorn for sexual deviation and love for the suppression of thought was the packaged and shipped of by the European colonialist in the form of the Christian religion which soon found it's way into the hands of the unsuspecting Filipinos. Today the Philippines is one of the most westernized country in Asia, which is why our government is now so eager to jump the "BAN LOLI; PROTECT CHILDREN" political bandwagon that our western overlords are on. The government has also yet to question the validity of this policy. How can the decrease of depictions of a crime work to reduce instances of it? Policies like these only serve to create an illusion of lack of crime, specifically the sexual abuse of children which is the main agenda of the people who support this ban. Another argument of the bans supporters is that those who fap to loli porn are pedophiles in the making (first 2d then 3d is a brief summarization of this argument). But do we punish people for a crime they have yet to or might not even commit? Is it morally commendable to imprison people who play GTA because they may or may not bludgeon a hooker with a baseball bat? The answer to that is a two letter word that begins with an "n" and ends with an "o". If we are to give in to that kind of paranoia than we might as well imprison every man who has ever watch an action movie, because good lord knows what murderous desires fester inside those sick f*cks. Bans like these only serve to restrict freedom of speech, though I'm not saying that this is the beginning of our plummet to pre-reformation style thought suppression (that would be a slippery slope fallacy on my part). Non-TL;DR summary: I blame uptight Christians and western culture for the ban and promote freedom of thought, speech, and lolis.

You have gained my respect. +rep for you
And yes, it's because of uptight christians.
Anyone remember the "Aking Banana" song? I was just enjoying the music and its humorous tone and I never even had the thought that it had a double meaning.
Only Green-minded persons (In this discussion, The church, tbexact) can detect something remotely related to something sexual that wasn't even done on purpose

Agreed. But though, why don't they concentrate on porn first? They should concentrate more on the child sex trade thing going on here.

because they can't crackdown the heavily protected sex trade here since their campaign money more or less comes from that. so they shift the blame and catch the average citizens instead... quick and easy PR for their campaigns and reps.
