honestly they've already banned hentai a long time ago but it never worked. Just recently they showed on TV how bad hentai is by showing some titles. Honestly they're just giving out ideas on what hentai customers should buy...yes, for a perverted hentai customer like you *smiles*
will you stop picking on me!? *steps on your foot*

Hey, I'm from philippines. Don't forget handsome like +0M4h0M3
The only official hentai product I've seen on display are gay ones. Not really problem for us customers, some pirates are allowed when they pay the police which I tolerate since it's petty to me. It's unfair for those who bought original though, I think official dvds cost around only 300php.
Know any links showing samples of hentai in philippine tv? Please show me, it might be a good guide on what to watch.

Curious and Wondering
As far as I'm concerned, this "philippines to ban hentai" is pure bollocks. I'm Filipino, BTW.
Philippines have bigger things on its plate than "hentai". We love hentai, and we couldn't care less. As far as I am concerned, if our government (the Arroyos) can't handle a terrorist group 1/32 the size of Al Qaeda, how can they, as this thread says, "ban hentai"?

Oh, I might say. Jessica Soho's show once handled "hentai" a few years ago. They showed the proliferation of DVD porn in local markets and shown some really crappy samples of hentai, most notably the one with Sailor Moon and dragon balls. It was heavily censored, like 3 times the normal rate. If you want samples of hentai in RP TV, this episode is the closest you can find. And trust me, it's not a good guide either.
Cheers for people who buy original DVDs. I myself do. It's simply giving to the hentai makers the due fruits of their hard work.
If all you saw was the gay hentai ones, try Manila's finest - Quiapo. Drop by the light green building across the big church and the underpass, and see a little variety. Try the second floor.

Sex industries such as prostitution are allowed as long as the people involved are 18+ for what I know, sounds fair to me. Hentai got attention, I wonder what they up to

The government is just trying to find another way to loot from the philippines no matter how weird it is..
Arroyo in the other hand has his days counted for..

LOLZ, I'm surprised that this hasn't died down yet... We Filipinos should get used to this crap everytime when election comes near. The politicians will do anything to get the voting public's attention. Heck they even plan on banning online games.
And I don't think we don't even need to fear those who pass bills that don't even know the real definition and and magnitude of what they are trying to ban.

If the next government investigate and then confiscate corruption money then, minimize tax for a while due to recovered wealth, I'll promote their reelection, ha ha.

So... even though the government of the Philippines fails in just about anything, they still try to ban hentai?
Lulz.
Lulz.

i am from the philippines and i say our politicians should just drop dead. our politicians know nothing but to fill their pockets with the taxes paid by us, hard working citizens. and now they are focusing on banning hentai instead of trying to resolve problems on poverty & corruption. no wonder this country is going to the dogs. now, if only i had a death note...i agree our
country is corrupted by the higher people
they do anything to gain power
to rule over us
we citizen
being over power by them
they fooling us
to make our lives easy
that's bullshit
they haven't done anything
there's no progress
they just keep stocking
there own self
they using our own money to stock there own self
TAX
they should make our country
to keep moving
but there corrupt way
to rule our home land
by there own corruted rules
WE CAN"T GO ON ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO MOVE ON
IF THEY KEEP DOING THE SAME PROGRESS
THERE CORRUPTED PROCESS
IS MAKING US DOWN............
they keep making Rules
but none of those rules
r been follow
NOW THEY TRYING TO BAN HENTAI FROM OUR LIVES
I CAN"T POSSIBLY TO FORGIVE THEM
WE ALL THE FILIPINO MENS SHOULD RISE
AND PREVENT THIS TRAGEDY
RISE UP
WE THE CITIZEN SHOULD REVOLUTION
WE MUST EMPOWER THEM
THERE CORRUPTED WAYS MUST BE STOP
AND STOP BAN HENTAI FROM US

Considering how well the country does against piracy, I don't think this should be taken seriously. If you've ever been to Makati Cinema Square, you'll know what I'm talking about (how many raids against the pirates have happened and all the stalls are still up?)
This is just something GMA put up to make the Moral Guardians feel better, and soon they'll forget about it.

Heh, Makati Cinema Square. I was once in there 3 years ago when Edu Manzano came and raided the place. Of course I had to look cool and composed lest they take my CDs in my bag (I just bought some). A day later the shops selling pirated DVDs were back.
On a side note for Pinoys here, meron pa ba tayong tunay na mga "Moral Guardians" (Do we still have real "Moral Guardians")? I mean, they come like spring and winter. When scandals and controversies and elections come, they appear. Then afterwards they disappear.
And again: Philippines to ban hentai = IMPOSSIBLE. And this eqution is currently a postulate.
